Update - 7/18/2011 After sitting in this place from 3:00 to 4:00 hearing wisphers from the staff (a african american woman that worn a red corchet beanie, white shirt, beaded necklaces, denium knee length skirt and white flat open toe sandals, and a white guy at the front desk) saying that they dont know how to do perms and they wasnt going to do my hair i finally get back there with someone to do my hair. She sits me at the 1st booth and say oh no they not going to sit here i guess another tech was about to do hair i seen old chemical relaxer in a white bowl and two brushes sitting in it she cleans off that area and while she was cleaning it i noticed in a draw white clippers that had hair all over it. I ask the lady have you ever done a relaxer before and she stated yes she proceeds to break up my tangled hair with a wide tooth comb and i feel the comb on my scaple i thought that was really wrong cause she was about to put a chemical on there and when i was a little girl i always heard i should scratch or comb my hair before a perm but she said she needed to break it up. she does my hair and after a while i feel like my hair is set on fire with gasoline i swear i never felt this before i have had relaxers for the majority of my life. I say please lets take this off it needs to come off and she stated one moment i need to smooth it out. I after another 10 sec i feel my toes curl because it was hot on my head i ask her to please take me to the bowl to wash my hair and she does. she washed my hair about 3 to 4 times while she washed my hair she layed the spray hose in the bowl and water shot out everywhere!! on me on the two other women washing ladies hair and on the clients and she say oooppps i didn't know it was even shooting out let me clean you up and at this point i still had that burning chemical in my head in my head im like its only water get this stuff out my head. she hands the other techs clients towels to clean themself up and comes back to me and wash my hair. she continues and i feel her touch my right ear and it felt like it was on fire it was hot and throbing it felt like skin was coming off when she touched and scrubed it. she saw me clinch in the seat and looks over there and say you have relaxer in your ear i said that is a chemical burn i feel it (i have had chemical burns in my scalp before but never in the ear i thought they should have based it they didn't) she looks and say yeah it is im sorry and continues to wash my hair. after she finsh she looks and say i need a cotton ball or a q tip to get that out or you can get it out. I go to wipe at my ear and dig into my ear canal with the cotton ball and it was in there! at this point i was very upset thinking oh my god im going to have a chemical burn in my ear canal. they used dirty hair brushes and combs and wanted to use a white comb on my head that i seen the black lady give two hair cuts to men she didn't even disinfect the combs inbetween the hair cuts! she started to comb me with that white comb!! oh no!!! i got up and left with wet hair and all! i get home to look in the mirror and see i have a huge chemical burn blister on my ear i have pictures that i took im thinking about legal action against these ppl. I will be happy to show you my pictures. wanted to give a update from my episode with these ppl from 06/14/2011 I reported them to the b.b.b. and that state cosmetology board. after the bbb attempted to contact them two times finally got a respose from them! guess who responded back! the black lady! she was not around when the other lady did my hair at all smh! so how would she know!! totally lied about her involment. HOW COULD YOU TRUST A COMPANY LIKE THIS! i have documents and pictures to support me. I am not taking this laying down im going to rebuttal this bbb report she sent back and will keep you updated Update 4/1/2012 The chemical burn ony ear is a permanet scar my skin on the inside of my ear is white and its BEEN ALMOST A YEAR!!!!! I have went to the school for sometime the students were very sweet people! But there were times when some students stole other things from others the staff is short handed when one student needed help the teacher was to busy to help because she was to busy help other students at the time.The other problem is that to of the main teachers teach some thing different ex. One tells you cut hair in a A form second one says no cut hair in a Q form. It's like a game of telephone. All the teachers want to show there way of cutting hair. Which my opinion is good and bad Another problem for me is that they take advantage of non english speakers! Also which makes the school fishy is that they allow non u.s. cizitens to go to there school listen I feel everyone should go to school but what about state board you have to be u.s. cizitens to get your lisence! When I went to sign up for school they did not ask me for my social or passport! The owner is a nice man he's also a teacher his sisters are nice but when you cross them wrong the are bitchy women one of his sisters is short with a pixie cut she always gives the customer attitude when they are upset about a hair cut or when the just want to give an opinion about there child's hair cuts! I can say that being professional is not taught in the school! I have left the school to transfer etc i had problem with the sisters. I am not innocent just like the sisters. Etc. I have to say the school is very ghetto you will not go to beauty convections becaus the owner will feel its a rip off but when you are in the beauty industry you need to go to these things! The school has some serious problems the students will tell you there opinion like they like the school the truth is its cause the school is cheap that's why they like it some students Alison been at the school for two years!! The school teachers you how to pass state board no real skill learning that school is not strict at all you leave when you want to which is blah I just have to say look at the school form your own opinion! Do you want this as a career or a hobby because you will be paying 6000 and 300 every month! The kit is 200 or 300 which the kit is full of cheap material just choose for yourself don't listen to there bullshit are any family member it's your life you choose!!!!!! read more

I have gone to other places to get my eyebrows done and many times I leave unhappy because they don't clean them well. For the past 2 months I have been going to Allure and I am extremely happy with them. I will never let anyone else touch my eyebrows! I've also gotten my hair cut and treated here and have been very pleased. The student I got took her time to listen to what I wanted and made sure I was happy with the results. The instructors are always around and pay attention to the students while they are with clients. They are very professional, friendly, and super knowledgable. My mom searched this school for me and I'm happy that she came across it bc with my new born baby and part time job they were able to work with my availability! If course it would take me longer than most students to finish so I quit my job to finish faster and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Compared to most beauty school they are affordable! It's always a pleasure going to Allure because of the friendly atmosphere! It may not be the fastest place to get a cut; I know that before walking in, so I make sure to set aside time in my day for it. Also, my cut always gets checked my a licensed instructor, so I always walk out with a professional and chic cut (that I only paid $5 bucks for). I love that I didn't have to quit my job to come to Allure and that was the main reason I picked it over any other school like Empire and Aveda. The staff and teachers work with you, if you have other priorities like work, kids, etc. It will take me longer to finish this way but better late than never. I also love the teachers! I got a haircut and color done and was very happy with it! The student was very attentive, as well as the instructor that came to check over it. And for the fraction of the cost that it would have been at the salon. I would recommend going earlier in the week, because it was busy when I went on a Thursday afternoon.
