Don't. Just don't. - I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, but the manager lady made me wait 15 minutes past my time. Then it took another 5 for it to start. Therapist did not adjust the end time. So my 1 hour massage was actually just 40 minutes. -It was hard to communicate with my therapist. It seems she knows no English at all. She parroted common phrases without understanding responses. During the massage, my attempts to communicate were useless. She just plowed through a rough and frantic massage. - She added a four dollar charge without telling me. When I questioned this she brought out a small sign about credit card processing charges. Why was this sign hidden? It should be displayed and brought up before the massage. -Lots of drama about wanting a bigger tip. Why was she so upset? Do these people not know that a bad massage means a low tip or no tip at all? - There was a car parked in front of the door RIGHT ON THE SIDEWALK. Is this legal? My friend brought me to Empire Massage for a birthday leg massage. It was soooooo good! I need to go back and try a full massage. This is not a fancy spa. It is in a strip mall. It is clean, and the ladies that work there are very friendly. My leg massage was deep and felt so good. I did not want to leave. The only downside to this place is that the phone was busy and the day I went they did not have a receptionist.... what that meant is that one of the spa people was taking a call right in the middle of our massages. Good massage, very relaxing.. cheap with Groupon but sacrifice some service.. in this situation, the masseuse had a major disregard for our selection of massage type with the Groupon. We had paid and selected a 75 minute massage, made up of 40 minute back and 35 minute food... we repeated this statement multiple times before starting to avoid issues, since we had sent our dad over. Ultimately, received the 60 minute back.. only.. and then dad told us he'd been sent out with that. It was awkward because the person receiving the massage was my father and we had to call and explain before having to send dad back another day.. for a 15 minute add-on - this was a gift that was ruined. *sigh* read more

Hi , I visited Empire through a groupon and was wanting to find a new masseuse. I loved the foot massage, very relaxing even though some of it hurt a bit. Then I was directed to another room for a full body massage. My therapist and I could not communicate too well because English was not her first language and I'm not sure if it was her second language either. This was a problem because I was trying to explain that I had a left hip replacement, This massage was deep tissue and too hard for me. ( My sister would have loved it) During the massage there was a slight pop that kind of scared us both, but I had no pain until later. This area is very sore today and I have to move very slowly. My therapist was soooooooo nice and just trying to do an excellent job, but I really feel there should be someone to communicate in English present. Also, in other places we fill out forms that tell about our likes and dislikes (a gentle, medium or firm touch) there was no such form here. Anyway, this is a true account of my experience. In town visiting and had 90 min couples massage with my husband. The massage was pretty good although my therapist stayed too long on upper neck and back and somewhat neglected the lower body overall. While the quality of the massage would have been enough to bring us back, the fact that each therapist left us consistently to address people coming in and out of the waiting area, while we could hear others available to help, was highly disappointing. In a serviced based business you get tipped on the service that you provide and if that 90 min massage is actually cut 5 mins short and then shortened by another 10-15 minutes of them leaving the room.... guess what... your tip is going to reflect that. While we are consistently willing to tip 20-25% to the service industry, this one earned a solid 13% and was made worse by immediately questioning our tip of 'only $20 dollars'. By far one of the WORST massages i have ever gotten. First off i called too make an appt and the first lady Jennie quoted me $50 for an hour massage. Which is fine she also quoted a free hot stone usally $10. Which is also nice. Then i walk in and she guides me straight to the room, without asking what i want or if i need too use the restroom, nothing. She just tells me that i have a sheet too cover myself then walks away and closes the door. It took about 10-15 mins for someone too finally show up, it was VERY unprofessional she just started without asking what kind of massage i need. Her massage was NOT professional what so ever it was as if a non trained person just trying too give you massage. She was massaging my bones! Not even my mucsels that were tense. At the end she didnt even massage my legs! When i met her to pay she increased the amount too $60!! My boyfriend and I have been coming to this place for well over a year now. I would say we probably come twice a month atleast. We usually get the hour long reflexology but have also gotten their full body and couples massages as well. The staff is super friendly, even with English being their second language, they usually crack jokes and have a good time with us. The full body massages are great because they can go super soft if you're looking for something therapeutic but they can also dig in harder than any place I've been to in Denver. I was a walk in appointment and asked for a foot massage . Was told the price was $40.00 . The foot massage was ok. Nothing great but needed it. I paid with my card and she asked me to add a tip. I was shocked( i always do tip well ) but have never been asked. The choices were 30, 40 and even a 50 % .. no other choice.. I thought this was odd. Second visit I paid cash . We were interrupted 4 times during my massage. So frustrating. TINA whom I had the time before ,once again asked for a tip. I walked in at 4:30pm no appointment for a foot massage and was taken in right away the woman at the front desk was very nice. I soaked my feet for 10 minutes the ambiance was calm and and soft music played in the background the place was very clean. I specifically told the front person I wanted the 30 minute massage and I saw her talk to the masseuse so I didn't say anything as the massage goes on I preceded to send out some emails check social media etc... I basically lost track of time and before I knew it had been an hour when it was time to pay I was charged the hour rate which is totally my fault for A)Not telling the person what I was getting and B)Not keeping track of the time. I did a 90 minute massage. Absolutely best massage I have ever had. Tina was thorough and not rushed. I have had approximately 10 traditional Chinese massages since November of 2018 at 4 different locations. I prefer the technique as I can not do deep tissue, but the traditional Chinese technique works without being in pain. She used just the right amount of pressure and didn't concentrate on one spot too long. She would go back and forth on different areas working out each knot, but switching back and forth as to not make it uncomfortable. She did offer hot stones for a small up charge. I believe it was necessary as I had a lot of bad areas as I work construction. Keep in mind hot stones are hot. She work fast with them flipping them a lot until they cooled down. I felt bad for her hands. Also, their oil is warmed which I have never had, but she did not apply directly to my back but put it in her hands first and then applied it. I did feel some of it as it spilled from her hands to my skin but it wasn't anything that would burn your skin, it was just obvious that it was heated for comfort. I am ready to go back and it has only been 6 days, but it has been another hard week of work. read more

I went into Empire on Saturday, 10/20. I knew my back was super tight. It always is but I do not like deep tissue massages. I was never asked what kind of massage I wanted and when Amy started, she went full on deep tissue. My back was still hurting 3 days later. I had asked several times during my massage for the pressure to be lowered but it wasn't. It was just too much. I literally laid on the table for the first 30 minutes in a stiff way because the massage hurt too much. She switched up for the last 30 minutes and just did a nice, relaxing overall massage, which is what I wanted in the first place. Also, I did not like the fact that when paying, I was only given an option to tip at 30% or higher. There was no place to tip 10% or 20%. My massage wasn't worth a 30% tip, especially when I asked multiple times for the pressure to change. Also, if you want to look like a reputable business, you probably should not have a bottle of massage lotion in your massage room called "So Naughty Nude". I took a photo of it, if you would like to see it. I get a lot of massages and have never seen a bottle of "So Naughty Nude" in the corner of the room. At least hide it. read more
