Got a white ink tat (which they don't typically work with) done here tonight. I was well educated and well cared for by Shawn (Sean?) who has been in the business longer than my life span. He made sure I knew the pros and cons to white ink and a tattoo the size I got it. He made sure he showed me that he was changing out needles and other product. It's definitely a tattoo parlor/ piercing place. You feel that vibe before you even walk in. A hole in the wall for sure, but you'll receive great service. I had a great experience with service both with the actual tattoo and paperwork. The minimum here is $40 which was impressive to me as I've payed $50 for an even smaller tattoo. Everyone there needs improvement, or at least some basic training. On cleaning, customer service, and the over all appearance and experience. Very nasty, very like sketchy. The piercings i wanted was the tragus but she proceeded to tell me she doesnt use a needle for tragus but instead a contraption that she described as a "screw" because she didnt wanna stab the inside of my ear. I said hell no, i allowed her to do my 4th lobe and she even messed that up. Ive pierced my own ears before and had my cartilage pierced, and in my opinion i was more knowledgeable than she was. My fourth lobe piercing is very VERY uneven and i will need to get them redone. its also at a horrible angle. And she used an extremely long bar for it. That in my opinion was not necessary. DO NOT GO HERE! I was peer pressured like an idoit i knew i shouldnt have. Go to Body Piercing by Bink instead. I received a tattoo on Friday the 13th and i've never seen such bad line work. The thickness changes throughout, some don't connect, and they are beyond shaky. I unfortunately didn't have a great experience here. I got my septum pierced and it was misplaced pretty bad. My piercer, Rob, came in late eating an ice cream cone, which I didn't mind at first because it was later at night and I'd be hungry too, but I had to wait about 20 min for him to come back to the shop and no one else was there. He was very funny and nice but I didn't feel that he was very professional. He didn't use sterile gloves, which I found out later when I showed a video of my piercing getting done to another piercer. He also didn't feel around for my sweet spot and completely missed it, going through the thick cartilage which was not only not where a septum is supposed to go but also very painful. I ended up getting it redone at another place because I didn't trust anyone there to redo it. The shop doesn't offer refunds, which really sucks. They also advertise for Callah, an ex-employee, on their website which is very misleading. Her work looked amazing and is what drew me to empire in the first place, but they don't have any pictures on their websites of Rob or their other piercers. Overall I would not recommend Empire Tatooz for a piercing, please do your research and find a better place to avoid wasting your time, money, and pain! read more

For my first tattoo I came to Empire Tattooz, they completely botched my tattoo. When it was drawn up and stenciled on my body it looked perfect... once it was finished though it was horrible. Misspelled, and very uneven. DO NOT COME HERE. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. 1st picture is the tattoo I got at Empire Tattooz. It is supposed to say "love yourself" in a heart form, it's very sloppy and at the top he forgot the "your". 2nd picture is the stencil that was drawn on my skin. While we waited to go to the back, we talked to a friendly worker at the front and she was too funny. We then got Max as our artist and he was phenomenal. Horrible customer service. I called ahead to make an appointment at 2 oclock for 3 tattoos and all we wanted were simple heart tattoos. The lady told me that she could get us in so we arrive at 2 and she informs us that no artist are in the building and she can't get ahold of them because they had a late night. Eventually, after almost an hour, she recommends us to get our tattoos by an artist who was in the building the whole time. He was super nice and we had no problem with him other than the fact we don't think he had much experience. It took forever to get started on our tattoos and during my tattoo an old worker came in requesting for her table and supplies. She gave us and the artist attitude while collecting her supplies. To say it was a horrible experience is the bare minimum. I do feel for the new artist and we understand he tried his hardest and got thrown into something he wasn't ready for. read more

I got a small tattoo at Empire Tattooz. At first, I could tell it was rushed and a bit sloppy, but not too bad considering I paid the minimum price for it. As time went on, the ink started to bleed and totally morphed my tattoo. I am so disappointed in the long term outcome of this tattoo. I am currently undergoing a tattoo removal process that costs $500 (my tattoo cost $60 in addition to a tip). I do not recommend this place to anyone for tattoos. I got my nose piercing there in which they used the lowest grade piercing material, titanium which most people are allergic to. Due to this, and them not properly informing me on how to clean my piercing it got infected to the point where I had to take it out. This is evident as the piercing was only $40 and other locations are $60-80 because they use proper material and give thorough cleaning directions. Def wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR CHEEK PIERCINGS. While everyone on staff is extremely nice and chill, including the piercer I had that made the whole process easy, cheek piercings are one of the more difficult and problematic piercings to get. First, the bars he put in were way too short. There is expected swelling so you have to put in bars that seem to be way too long to give your body room to swell and heal. I went back in (4 days after getting the piercing) to try and get longer bars but he told me that was the longest ones he had and he couldn't put ones in that were too long or else I'd bite on them which is completely incorrect. The fact is they just don't have the proper jewelry so they should not be piercing people. So because I had the wrong jewelry in, the skin on the inside of my cheek actually grew over the back of the jewelry and caused an infection on my right cheek. I had to go to another shop ( iron inkwell, which I highly recommend, their piercer has been piercing for 13 years) to get it fixed which was extremely painful and he said if I had waited another day I would have had to get the jewelry cut out. Moral of the story, yes Empire has very competitive prices, but cheaper doesn't always mean better. If you are getting your cheeks pierced get someone experienced and go ahead and spend the extra money because you want to make sure this is done right since there are so many things that can go wrong. If you have made it this far through the review please take my warning seriously. I promise my case was not a one-time thing or a fluke, the same thing will happen to you and you'll have to spend even more money getting it fixed and be in unnecessary pain. read more

Piercings are WAY over priced. Spent $60 + tip (obviously)for just an earlobe piercing. The piercer was nice during the process though which is why I'm not giving one star. Went back to Empire because the piercing they put in when they pierced my earlobes are stuck and asked if they could get them out for me. They said it'd be a $5 fee to take them out. I wanted a small word behind my ear and I asked one of the men working that night to do It on the computer with an actual font, but he insisted printing something "so small" was "too much work". They don't care about what they're putting on your bodies they just want your cash. Terrible experience and I just left. He literally then proceeded to hand draw the word I wanted, spelled It wrong, the cursive looked terrible, and then gave me the dirtiest look when I asked him to move the first letter closer to the rest of the word. Made the appointment, wrote what I wanted, uploaded the design. When it came to time for the consult, the artist didn't show up. I even asked if I can see someone else, but essentially they told me to just do a consult over insta. Not friendly at all, they didn't accommodate or help me out and I felt unwelcome. I walked in to this place to get my nose hoop changed. For some reason it was tarnishing and starting to infect my nose (I got it pierced elsewhere). I walked in and asked if they sold hoops. She seemed really uncomfortable, but said yes. Meanwhile, some girl was screaming in the tattoo chair next to me. The register girl was looking at me and I asked if she could change it. She pointed to a back room and it looked like an abandoned dentist office. I said I like my hoop more fitted so if you could use the smaller size that'd be great. She pulled out a hoop and I could tell it was too big. I'm not the "professional" so I let her go on. She measured it, said it looked good, and put it in without any lubricant, which hurt. She put it in and asked me for a mirror. I said I didn't have one. She asked for my phone and I looked at it. It was...there. The place made my skin crawl. I wanted out of there. I went up front to pay, and I handed her my card. She said do you have cash? I said no and she pointed to the atm. I pulled out a $20 (the lowest I could). I handed it to her. She looked at me. I have visited this place my fair share of times. Reception is always very nice and knowledgeable. I have gotten an industrial, a cartilage, and daith piercing by Roland. All went fine and healed well except one part of the industrial. I went back and had them redo the bottom hole because it was rejected. I wanted to get a pretty simple tattoo done, but ended up having to draw it myself bc the artist (Ben Russell) drew up something that looked like it took about 2 minutes right before my apt. First off he was about 45 mins late for it, and when he finally showed up, he didn't even apologize for making me wait. Once everything was finally situated, I quickly realized the needle he was using was not thin enough and he couldn't even do everything I asked for, yet he didn't warn me of this beforehand. The tattoo came out asymmetrical and crooked in places.... like really... When I asked him to touch up the spots that were clearly uneven, he wasn't even able to fix it. I had to go to another artist a few weeks later to get it touched up and looking even somewhat how I originally wanted it. Also, the tat prob took like 30 mins and he charged me 120. Seemed a bit steep, but he didn't answer me about a quote until right before getting it done. I blame myself for this, as I should have insisted on a quote before I even got there, but I still felt as though I was getting ripped off. Let me just paint a picture for you. Me and my closest friends walk in to an actual simulation. Artists asleep, at their own stations? Chipotle littered everywhere, open containers of chipotle as far as the eye can see. Children playing video games at a station? So many juuls. I went in for a small tattoo, the artist proceeded to get her supplies out of an asleep man's backpack??? That's so sketchy. Terrified for my life. I was instructed to sit at this woman's "station", to sit in a literal DESK CHAIR. Not a tattoo chair, a rolling desk chair. She didn't even shave my arm, granted I am a little hairless but nonetheless there is still some hair there. Aren't there specific procedures for marking your body with permanent ink? One would hope. The entire establishment lacked cleanliness and resembled closer to a basement tattoo operation rather than a tattoo parlor. To reiterate, I was terrified. Also I low-key think the artist judged me for the type of tattoo I was getting? She wore sneaker wedges. With sweatpants... tragic. I don't even know if she washed her hands. I genuinely don't. Blasting bassnectar as loud as possible, imagine getting a tattoo with ELECTRIC DANCE MUSIC BLARING? Also people were still sleeping through all this racket. Unbelievable. Everyone just looked mean and like they didn't want to be there even though this is their career... I'm shook. Granted the tattoo came out fine, definitely more scabby than usual, it took 30 seconds to do, I feel like I could have hepatitis?
