I have been a customer at this location for many years. Last Tuesday, at approximately 1:30 PM, I came in to pick up my new glasses. While I was there, I asked the woman assisting me if she could adjust my frames because they were very loose. She seemed reluctant and said that adjusting them might affect my vision. Are you serious? That explanation is ridiculous. I have had my frames adjusted many times in the past so they fit properly, and it has never affected my vision before. Please educate her!! read more

This Visionworks location is still trying to do a scam BOGO offer that costs the price of both pairs of glasses that you're supposed to get for "free". When you refuse the offer they throw on an unadvertised "40% off" which still leaves the cost of the frames/lenses at the price it would cost anywhere else. They're inflating the price of the glasses to make the discount seem generous. They told me it was because I didn't have insurance but then that just means they're inflating the price for insurance costs. Visionworks was sued and settled a class action lawsuit for $4.2 Million in 2017 for a scam BOGO offer with the same exact details as listed above. read more

My family has come to this location for years and years... the product is great but the staff are NOT! Finally we have had enough, we will still be staying with Visionworks but a different location. The customer service....If I could give this place a zero, I legitimately would. The doctor is good and there are about 2 employees (a young blonde that's the front secretary and an older bald,tall gentleman with glasses are actually really nice so this review is not a reflection of them) The other staff are very rude, in particular 1 older women has longer salt and pepper hair and another's name I believe is Amy are AWFUL! My son has adhd and a twitch, his glasses fall off often and get broken. They are covered for 1 year under their plan. However starting the 2nd time (in 1 year we went up to 5 times other years 2 times) They were so mean... like really rude to my young kid, as if he had control over this... little snarky remarks and made him and me feel like crap... this last time I called in after I received a text saying his contacts were in (he's young but it's worth a shot, so we don't have to keep replacing glasses) I CALLED the store told them specifically that my sons trial contacts were in and when can I set up to get them. They said anytime before 5:30. We get there, they say they can't do it because I need to set up an appointment... I told them I called and they told me to come in, they said sorry but we can't fit you in. I told them that happens often and the customer service has been awful, that my sons last football game was this week and he wanted to play without his glasses and asked if there was anyway we could be seen, they said no. I told them I'd be calling the corporate office, granted they made an error that prolonged the process of the contacts coming in... but don't worry they said they were sorry... yet again! Another employee covering from another location felt bad and said she would help us, thank God for her! She was great! My son is thrilled and also knows it is NOT OK to be treated like this and we will be changing locations due to AWFUL staff...NO MORE! Visionworks is great but NOT the Lockport location! read more

I stopped in Empire Visionworks to ask a question about an eye exam, the cost and how to schedule one. The girl was more than helpful. She asked me some questions about my situation and then offered some good advice. I am in a power wheelchair and I'm 71 years old so there's modern stuff I don't get. Kristine was more than helpful about what I should do next. Maybe I will buy from them or maybe I won't, but I definitely left there feeling good about my experience. This was the worst experience I've ever had at an eye doctor. I made my appointment for 10:45 and filled out all the forms ahead of time. I arrived at 10:40 to check in. The receptionists were very nice but couldn't figure out how to re-enter my information into the system. They just kept re-entering it and it wasn't working. Then they finally took me for an eye test, and while I was waiting to see the doctor, one of the receptionists took the person who had the appointment AFTER me into the one examining room they have first. They asked her to leave the room but she refused. So the doctor saw her first, while I had to wait. At 11:30, the doctor finally finished with the other customer and came out to give instructions to the receptionist. When he said it was my turn, I said, "well, I've been waiting for 45 minutes." He responds rudely, "Well I had an eye exam. Oh well! It's your turn now." I couldn't believe how NASTY this man was. I refused to be treated by him. I asked to be seen by another doctor or to get the test results, and they refused both. I will never give this company my business again. read more

Dr.Zimmerman was great. Very welcoming to new customers. He listened intently. Gotta tell you. The 3 women working the front desk were not nice at all. Not personable and if not for your dr.Zimmerman, my family would've walked out of this location. Replace those unfriendly ladies at the front desk if you want repeat customers. I have been wearing glasses since 3rd grade and have never had such a bad exam and I'm 57 yrs old so I have had over 20 exams. The female who did the exam was snooty and acted like she was being forced to be there and a horrible horrible attitude. So for a yr I've suffered with the wrong prescription and then the fitting of my glasses was another disaster. They never adjusted them to me, never sat in front of me to fit them and just let me go. I would bend down and they fall off, the frames broke at the nose piece and I went back and they popped the lenses out and replaced the frames(i paid for new frames btw- same exact frames) but then I had a crack in my lense. JUST DONT GO HERE! I was forced because of my insurance and still paid over $300. NEVER EVER AGAIN- 0 stars and please get rid of that optometrist or whoever she is- I have talked with people who have gone to her and they said the same thing, she is just plain rude. Being without eye insurance, a trip to the eye doctor is always a scary thought. After years of visiting another eye doctor I decided to give them a try and I must say they gained a patient for life! The reason for my visit was for an eye exam in order to get contacts for a vacation that I'm leaving for in 5 days. After telling the staff my reason for the appointment they ordered my contacts and in case they don't come in on time they gave me 2 pairs for free. All the staff was extremely friendly and the doctor was very thorough and polite. All in all the eye exam and contacts that I ordered ended up costing what I would pay for an exam alone at my previous eye doctor. read more
