I do find the prices to be a bit more than some of the other places I check out, but they also do their best to squeeze every benefit out of my insurance as possible, so I take that as balancing out. Everyone was nice and worked well as a team. I tried some different contacts as I have a touch of astigmatism, but I didn't like how they felt so we stuck with my usual (I can see a little better out of the other ones, but I can feel them in my eyes). I ordered my contacts. When I had trouble redeeming my Acuvue rewards from home, I called and the problem solved for me easily. I didn't buy eyeglasses this year but I will next year and I'll update my review regarding selection (that is if my new health insurance is accepted here which starts in 2025 lol stay tuned ...)

The Dr. answered all of my questions very thoroughly and it was a great experience for an eye exam for someone who does not do well with having things close to my eyes. They did have the option for an extra charge (insurance wouldn't cover it) to use a machine to take pictures of your eyes instead of being dilated which was a lifesaver! The optometrist was fun and energetic. The assistant who helped out on the floor helped me understand my options and the different things I was billed for with contacts and eyewear and the exam. They had a pretty large selection of glasses but a lot of them strangely seemed the same. That was my only real disappointment ... not finding a pair of glasses I loved. However, I mostly wear contacts so it wasn't a deal-breaker by any means. The only thing that might bother someone if they aren't easily mobile is I did go to a few different rooms for my exam which I had never experienced. I went to a waiting room, another room (and multiple seats) for some things, another room to change my contacts, another room to test my vision ... it was fine for me, but maybe not so much if you can't hop in and out of a seat quickly.

I was totally impressed with the amount of time and care that Dr Jeffrey Calhoun took with my friend. He has the patience of a saint. I was unaware of some of the visual tests he had performed were even available for her. He was polite, honest and soft spoken. He spoke to her, not at her. When she had to speak to the optician, Greg was stellar in his line of work with prisms as well as his mannerisms. Talk about knowing his stuff!!!! From the moment we walked in the door and greeted I had noticed a friendly and clean atmosphere. The wait time was minimal and the time spent on my friend was unmatched by any business I've ever visited. I wish I had known about him years ago. I'm adding my own extra star.

Mom has macular degeneration. Dr. Calhoun had nothing to offer. But what really prompted me to write this review is his total lack of class and empathy for the patient. The poor guy really didn't have much personality and wasn't really a nice guy. But, whatever if he can help. Yes, mom has trouble with her vision and that's why we were in his office. I asked if he felt her vision was going to get worse. Right in front of mom he shrugs his shoulders and says "She can't see anything anyway." Real class "doctor" to say something so crude in front of a lady in her 90s. I hate to contradict his statement, but I took her to a real low vision specialist. This gentleman told me that her retina still has good spots and that the brain looks for them. Well, Dr. Calhoun must have missed that class. So, if your mom needs a low visin specialist, take this guy off your list. He's rude and another doctor proved he really isn't all that good. If you have to go here, see Dr Schwach. I had to see him for a problem I was having & he got me in the same day. He explained everything, was a great guy and very good at helping out and putting me at ease. I would seriously recommend you stay away from Dr. Calhoun. He didn't seem to be that knowledgable and absolutely has no class. He should know better. Also, the office/front desk ladies aren't the most pleasant!!

It's one of those places where they aren't trying to rip you off every second of the day and that's probably why people keep coming back. Much cheaper than the dealers and significantly more helpful than any of the official stores. Coming here is the equivalent of finding a guy who lives next door and can fix your device for peanuts. It's not peanuts but compared to how much the retail stores are charging it may as well be free. I recommend this place to anyone who's having trouble with their devices. Notice that there are two of them across the hall from each other inside the Eastern Hills Mall. One of them is much bigger. I'm not really sure what the differences are besides that.
