I know how to kick ass at Galaga.

This was a request by one of my friends to find a barcade. Lucky for him, we found one just outside downtown, but its a short rideshare to get to it. It used to be a warehouse and when you walk in, there are benches all in the middle and arcade games all along the walls. I was thrilled that they had Galaga available and I kicked ass in the game. Some of my friends played pool, while others played basketball and pinball machines. I was very pleased by what this place offered and cant wait to make another visit back.

Emporium is a very cool little arcade bar. It's very spacious and has a nice beer list and a few cocktail and frozen daiquiri options. The bartender is a very nice guy, very personable and responsive, who was taking pride in curating a custom playlist for the evening as I came in. They have 4 pool tables, foosball, skee-ball, pinball, and several 80s, 90s, and 00's arcade games to sample, so I was in nostalgia heaven for a little while. I'd love to see them get food, but there's a ton of great options, including St Roch Market, and a few really top notch food trucks right outside their door, and they let you bring it inside, so it's fine. Word of advise for the old folks approaching 50 like myself: young people gather in droves around 10pm on Saturday and it begins to get raucous lol, not that that's a bad thing at all lol, it's just a bit much for me because of my age.

Emporium is one of the most chill places to go! It's one of my favorite places to go for pre-gaming or have a fun time with friends or boo-thang There are so many wonderful restaurants and food trucks located around this location and you can bring it in! You will need an ID to get and you will need to purchase tokens to play the various arcade games. The bartenders are extremely friendly and encourage you to be a kid again while you engage in a good game of mortal kombat or foosball! I'm glad this place opened up when it did.

No food here but the service was great, music is diverse and loud . They have an arcade style setup with benched table tops. The AC works so good!! definitely a fun spot

I hosted an event here this past weekend. First off I want to give a big thank you to Chandler for his support getting the event setup right. The next huge thank you goes to our first and best server during the event, Mickey. She was lovely and I enjoyed her talking about the books she is reading. Emporium is awesome. It is a relaxed spot with video games and alcohol. I mean what else do you really need. We had a table for folks to sit, but most people opted to stand around and talk. Although I did not drink beer, the folks at my event did and they were happy with the selection. I opted for some mixed drinks and they were well made by Mickey. They have a lot of classic arcade games like Mortal Kombat, Pac Man, Time Crisis 4, Fead the Dead, and others. Honestly, I would give even more stars if they had Dance Dance Revolution. They don't carry food, but you can bring food in from other spots which is what we did. The bathroom was clean and well kept up with but I was there early so who knows what it looks like later at night. Another positive is location. There are tons of other places around Emporium. I will gladly visit again and I can't wait to host another event here.

Great place to play retro games like Ms Pacman, Street Fighter, Joust, Qbert, skeeball, pinball, etc. They also have pool tables there! We went recently to celebrate my nephew's birthday. They allow you to bring your own food (which was plenty). Plenty of tables there to host parties. Cool murals all around. The bar is nice and serves mixed drinks as well as beer. They specialize in craft beer and have quite a few different craft beers for you to try. The bartenders are all super chill and friendly! Come to Emporium for great arcade fun, craft beers, or to enjoy their live DJ's!

I've been to the establishments in Chicago where the business originated I knew what to expect. While the expansion to New Orleans was a welcoming especially since it close to where I live, the implementation is disappointing. I'll start with the good. The beer list is legit and the bartender... while a bit aloof and kept disappeared in the the back, was nice enough. The games are affordable .25¢ per play. Music they play was fire! The bad is the games eat your quarters more than provide you with entertainment. The games and tables are sticky...nobody is wiping these down as needed. The frustration of going game to game with them gobbling up my tokens was annoying. And sticking to tables and machines wasnt fun especially when Covid is still a thing. And even if it wasn't. Clean ur SH@T. Lastly the bartender asked the managers for assistance but they chose ignore him and go out front to smoke instead of helping.

    Michael M.

If you need a retro game fix this is a perfect option in the New Orleans area. I was surprised by some of the selection of games including Excite Bike, Aliens vs. Predator, Contra, NBA Jam, and Double Dragon to name a few. There was about 8 pinball machines all working and well maintained. In addition they have multiple pool tables and skee-ball machines. The staff were friendly and lots of selections from the bar including specialty cocktails and draft beers. You will need to purchase tokens, so I started off with $5 worth, which lasted at least an hour. It's a nice location in the St. Claude neighborhood too with lots of other bars in walking distance.

Guy Bartender was good and cool. He took care of Hubby, Business Partner and I . We had a good time .

And I simply can't say enough about Rylan, Millie, Hana and the rest of the staff at Latrobe's. Their professionalism, their attention to detail, their care and patience - all are unmatched. We did not hire a wedding planner and now, knowing just how much work is involved in planning a wedding, I think we simply couldn't have done it without their guidance and tips, which they provided even for events beyond the wedding and their scope of work. Latrobe's definitely helped us achieve that. From the beautiful courtyard complete with burning gas lamps, to the grand banking room, to the wonderful food selection of delicious regional delicacies. Many of our guests told us that they felt they had been transported back in time. That it was the best, most unique wedding they had ever attended - and with the best food! Lastly, the team at Latrobe's is incredible - I actually miss talking to them every week! (LOL) Rylan, Hana, and Millie are the best. Wedding at Marché - Outstanding Experience As the mother of…read morethe bride and overall wedding planner, I highly recommend this venue. My daughter and her fiancé did a detailed search for just the right wedding venue to meet their needs. We booked Marché about six months in advance after visiting multiple venues, and it quickly stood out. The planning process can be tedious and tricky, but their Special Events Operations Manager, Wallace, was truly exceptional. He is the primary reason we chose Marché and, ultimately, the reason our wedding day was such a success. Why we chose Marché: * Excellent French Quarter location * Beautiful views from multiple balconies * Great layout for ceremony, dining, and dancing * Incredible, authentic New Orleans food * Excellent value for the price * Wallace's professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond What impressed us most after the wedding: * The tasting was extremely helpful in finalizing food and drink selections * We were able to customize ceremony and dining layouts to fit our vision * Time allotted for both ceremony and reception was more than adequate * Food was outstanding and widely praised by guests * Bartenders made great drinks and happily accommodated requests * Wine, liquor, and beer selections were very good * The "flip" from ceremony to dance space was executed flawlessly--fast, organized, and exactly as planned Guest feedback: * The staff welcomed our guests with enthusiasm and excitement. They made everyone feel welcome. * We received countless compliments, with many saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended * Guests loved the food, drinks, and smooth flow from dining to dancing Helpful recommendations: * Take full advantage of the balconies--we threw beads to guests waiting in Dutch Alley before the second line, which was a highlight * Have champagne passed as guests arrive to set a celebratory tone * Do not overdecorate the ceremony room--the chandeliers, floors, windows, and lighting are already stunning * Encourage guests to use the balconies at night; the views are amazing (our cigar bar was a big hit) * Highly recommend a second line--it creates a fantastic guest experience and allows time for reception setup * A separate "day-of" coordinator is unnecessary if you are organized--Wallace and his team handle everything seamlessly One small negative (for transparency): Our assigned salesperson was slow to respond to emails, and her in-person communication style was abrupt. However, this did not impact the success of our wedding and should not discourage anyone from choosing Marché. Overall, Creole Cuisine Company and its employees are consistently professional and hospitable at all levels of leadership and staff. Planning tip: Carefully review the food and beverage brochure and ask detailed pricing questions. We created a spreadsheet to track costs and maximize value. Be sure to ask about reduced pricing for minors and vendors. Final note: Wallace is a true gem--kind, positive, respectful, and incredibly attentive. Because of his leadership, the entire team operates at the highest level. Not a single guest needed anything all night, and the bride and groom were truly taken care of. Marché delivered an unforgettable wedding experience, and we recommend it without hesitation.

I want to start by saying how excited I am for the development of the entire Oretha Castle Haley corridor. I think in a year it is going to be one of the hottest areas in the city. It took me a few minutes to actually find this place at first. My good ol' GPS just led me to the 1400 block of OCH and left me to find the actual building on my own. Just a note: it's on a corner and I took a picture of the door, so that you can be on the lookout. The venue itself is lovely. It's a wide open space with a nice bar and plenty of seating. There is gorgeous art on the wall and I like that there is a lot of space to move around. Big selling point: the air conditioning here works like a champ. A lot of times you get into these old buildings, and the ac can't keep up with the space, but that was not the case here. Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.
