This business is an absolute horrible scam. I paid for the fast track class and then they proceeded to notify me after the fact that I needed multiple vaccines before the end of the two week period or my classes would automatically be rescheduled to a further date. Number one, I was taking the class full-time so I didn't have enough time to get those vaccines. They're also very expensive vaccines that the school doesn't help you pay for which is an unreasonable expectation to give a student AFTER they paid 1500 for a class. I called customer service to get a refund because the website states that you're entitled to a refund if you're dissatisfied with the service, however the customer service rep told me that in the fine print it's a prorated refund. I did not even get the prorated refund over the phone so I had to file a claim with my bank. Once I filed a claim with my bank, the company reversed the claim again. Obviously, I'm not making this up because if you read almost any other review about this place on any website, it's all negative. They also didn't have the right size clothes I paid for. Not to mention, they reschedule classes in the middle of the night and change the format back-and-forth between online and in person which makes it impossible to attend. EMSU is a scam. I signed up for a fast track course to become an EMT in Tucson after seeing how official and put together their website looked. I had no concerns when signing up, but when I was not emailed once about starting the course I quickly became alarmed. I went to my first day of class after not being told anything and not being given any profile credentials. On this day I was told the course may be partially online. From that day forward we were not offered a single class in person, instead we had to zoom into a class in California or Phoenix. My course was a 4 week program, 4 days a week for 8 hours a day. That meant sitting in front of my computer for 8 hours and "watching" the hands on skills be done hundreds of miles away on a blurry screen with no volume along with hours of assignments, quizzes and exams after each day. When learning to become an EMT, it is vital that you understand, practice and feel confident in all skills necessary to complete lifesaving procedures and being online for the entire class made that nearly impossible. We finally went to another in person class on our final exam day and at this time there were about 4 other courses that were trying to take the final along with testing every skill we had to know and should've been tested on throughout the course. The one instructor that was there wasn't even able to complete our skills testing that day because there were so many of us. Not only that but you could not reach a human person at all, every time you call the company an AI bot answers and will hang up on you within minutes and/or repeat the same sentence over and over. Do not sign up for this course. They are a scam of an organization and will not help you succeed as you step into the world of healthcare. read more

I am in the fast track course right now 26713FT in San Diego and there have been multiple problems with registration and being able to recieve my course materials, including being transferred to a different course without my consent or knowledge. I have been attempting to solve these issues with my course for a week, and I have called, texted, and emailed more than a dozen times only to be ghosted by real people, besides the AI 'escalating' my ticket for support (only to not be offered any satisfactory solution). I am a quarter way through my course and cannot access any course materials, yet nothing is being done about it. This is an extremely poorly run organization, and I would certainly recommend going elsewhere. Many others in my class have lamented about the same sort of issues as well, and a quarter of my class is falling behind like me. EMSU is also incredibly ill prepared for classes, as there are not enough supplies for my class that were supposed to be ordered before we started and there was not a large enough room to support all the students. The only good thing about the course is the instructors, if you get more than 25% of classes in person. In general, I would choose anywhere else, if your schedule permits. It is not worth the hassle of fighting with Bella the AI assistant every day for the basic course materials and form completions. Update: They attempted to fix it and now I'm in the Texas course??? EMS University Peoria AZ ..... it makes me mad to even give them one star. I cannot recommend EMS University based on my experience. The program was advertised in a way that led many students, including my son, to believe it would be a traditional EMT course, yet much of the instruction was conducted online with very little clear disclosure upfront. Communication and customer service were extremely frustrating. It was nearly impossible to reach a live representative, and when someone was finally reached, the off shore reps responses often consisted of reading catalog language rather than addressing specific concerns. Several students in the class reported similar experiences. There were also issues with instruction and account management. During one online class, the instructor left early, leaving students without instruction for nearly two hours. In addition, billing and account errors prevented access to exams despite payments being made, creating unnecessary obstacles to completing coursework. For a program costing over $1,500, I expected transparency, reliable support, and quality instruction. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. We would strongly encourage prospective students and their families to carefully research all and any other options, BUT EMS! read more

Absolutely horrible organization. I would not recommend this EMT program to anyone. Before class even started, they sent emails with the wrong class location, which caused me to spend an extra hour trying to find the correct place on my own. When I tried calling customer service, no real person picked up, and the phone system did not provide any helpful information. Emails are also answered very slowly. The program information is not kept updated either. The website still lists the wrong program end date: the program ends in July, but the website says August. This creates unnecessary confusion for students who are trying to plan around the course. The website itself is also terrible. It constantly has issues loading, submitting quizzes, and submitting exams. For a program where students depend on the online system for coursework and grades, this is extremely frustrating and stressful. I was also disappointed with the online class option. It was supposed to be an alternative way to attend, but the online instructor spent a large portion of class calling on students for answers instead of actually teaching and going over the material. read more

I did the fast track course and i would never recommend this school to anyone. support is horrible and is outsourced overseas you wont get replys for days but are still expected to do things when they make it impossible. you will get different information from everyone you talk to and will be confused and not knowing whats going on. The website and moodle work half the time. your access will not be reliable but once again are expected to get things done by due dates. horrible school, choose another. read more

Avoid this course like the plauge, I have been in their Fast-track since January and have gotten absolutely no help from both the Course Director and the "Support" from being railroaded for Externships to not being issued a course completion for an entire month. EMS university is listed as an approved program on San Diego County's website. It should be removed and no one should attend this program. Majority of the classes were taught remotely with very little hands on experience. The worst part is the lack of organization and poor response ( no response) from the program manager. read more

Basically a scam. May have been a good program 5 years ago but currently it is just awful. There is a serious lack of instructors available and good luck if you need your skills testing done cause they are probably going to cancel on you. I Took the Evening Traditional EMT training (4 hours a week) from September to December 2023 and I have a few things to say about the company and my experience. PROS: - Friendly & Very Knowledgable Instructors - Clean environment - Informative Information - EMT Course Certification (obviously) CONS: - Poor Wifi - Poor communication when it comes to certain due dates - Issues with Pearson quizzes occasionally freezing (may be a Pearson, or wifi problem) - Some outdated or not enough equipment - Outdated, sketch looking website (official website) - Administrative Issues My Experience: I joined this program with a friend in hopes to begin my career in the medical field. I was hoping for lots of hands on learning, however I soon came to realize that most, or all of our class time was taken up completely by lectures with very little hands on work. We would rotate between a few instructors every week which I think was nice. Some had different teaching styles and some of them did more hands on work than others. Non the less, their teaching was very informative and they were very knowledgable about what they were teaching. I enjoyed most of the staff there and the people in our class. We had a class of about 10-15 people. After a few weeks of course beginning, many people relied on going to zoom even though that was meant to be a last minute measure if you could not attend. I'd say on average, 80% of the class would just use zoom because it was more convenient even though that was not the idea of the course as I was told. I think this impacted those of us who did show up every time. Luckily, I got the information that was needed to be a competent and knowledgable EMT. 3 Weeks after I passed the course, I took the NREMT and passed first try, along with that. Everyone else I know in the class that took the NREMT also passed first try. Our instructors were very helpful and really made sure we succeeded. Hope this review is helpful for others looking at joining the Evening Traditional Courses here at EMS University. I do hope they have improved or solved some of these problems since December. read more

I registered for my EMT recertification in September of this year with EMS University in Miramar. I later discovered they have transitioned to an online only platform and decided to cancel and request a refund. The refund request was acknowledged and I was informed it could take up to 30 days plus a 10% fee for processing. After the 30 days expired, I have contacted EMS University by phone, email, and Chat to no avail. I get the response the refund is processing and someone will contact me by phone. As of 11/14/2023, I have received no contact or refund. This would have been my fourth EMT recertification with EMS University. Unfortunately, it appears their standards have declined If you looking for a hassle-free EMT recertification, stay away from EMS University. I would suggest EMSTA College. read more

what a SCAM! website is SKETCHY!!!! trying to reach someone on the phone line which is also sketchy, several attempts and the line rings as if its been discontinued. we paid the $50 deposit, got sent an email requesting full tuition with no other details and info for the course in the email was for their AZ location when we are in San Diego and signed up for SD. Bad business practices. I scheduled an EMT skills verification course, and they let me pick a date that they didn't actually offer the skills verification. After asking for a refund, they still kept 10% of my charge even though they were the ones who made the mistake! I will never use them again or recommend them if this is how they treat customers. read more

After having run into some administration issues. I spoke with this organization a week later and they made appropriate amends and made it more than fair. They realized they had an administration error and acted quickly to resolve it. I am extremely grateful of their understanding and compassion. I took the CPR and BLS course at EMS University at the Miramar location. Prior to paying and taking the class I called and asked if the class would be taught by a EMSA certified instructor and the reception stated all of their instructors are emsa certified. I explained I needed the certification for child care. I later found out that EMS university does not keep track of their instructors certification. The instructor could not provide a Stamp or sticker that states EMSA certified. EMSA certified is a requirement by the state of California for child care. I was lied to and I wasted my money. I am now taking the class with ABC certified CPR and they are EMSA certified and c as needed prove it. read more

I originally scheduled a class through EMS university to do a training for AHA BLS CPR. After my class was canceled due to low registration, I had to find another company who performs trainings as I was going to miss my deadline for work. I requested a refund, and was told it would take a few weeks but that I would be notified of updates. Two months later and with calls made bi-weekly, still no refund. According to the customer support team, there are emails sent to the refund department but they have yet to act on it? Either way, I would hope a refund would never take more than a month. read more

Shortly thereafter, I was informed I would receive a refund and was pleased. But, as more and more time elapsed (and unanswered emails), I found I still had received no reimbursement. It has now been 3 months and based upon principle I have felt obligated to post a review.
