I had braced myself for the horror stories I'd heard from friends and family, and instead Ms. Susan made it effortless. As a parent, I was apprehensive about leaving my child in someone else's care, but from day one I felt completely comfortable and confident that she was well taken care of. Every single teacher at CTCA exceeded our expectations. Each one brought their own unique strengths to the classroom, and our kids were genuinely loved and had good morals instilled in them along the way. I especially want to thank Ms. Becca. I was torn between the free TK option and investing in my daughter's education here, and I am so grateful I chose to keep her at this school. Ms. Becca sent her into Kindergarten with confidence, strong social skills, and -- most importantly -- a real academic foundation. To this day, my daughter still talks about things she learned in Ms. Becca's class, and she is currently performing above grade level in her academics. That speaks for itself. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the music program -- it's the best. Ms. Carrel made music and singing so fun and engaging that my daughter absolutely loves to sing now. It's become one of her favorite things, and watching that love for music grow has been such a joy. We now have a little boy, and I cannot wait for him to start at CTCA and have the same experience his sister did. I love this school so much that I've been recommending it to everyone I know. She is now 6 and remembers what her teachers (especially Ms. Becca) have taught her. She is comfortable with drawing and writing in kindergarten thanks to her well developed fine motor and gross motor skills during her time at this preschool. When she became a kindergartener in the public school system, she helped her friends with opening lunchboxes, was confident in using the restroom and setting appropriate boundaries in friendships. Our second daughter is now in Ms. Becca's class at this preschool and she couldn't be more excited. She had wonderful and caring teachers ( Ms. Mariah and Ms. Winnie) who helped her become comfortable with school. We are grateful to have found this school and to have stayed here over the years. They have a wonderful little playground, a beautiful garden, and most importantly, a deeply caring staff.

The drop off and pick up situation is dangerous at best. Just to put it into context, a child was hit by a car leaving the school last year. There is not adequate parking, most zones around the school are marked red so you can't park there, and no one (including staff and law enforcement) are on the same page about where you can and cannot pull up to pick up your child. I have had my child enrolled in other schools and it was ran so much more smoothly and safely than this school. There is no accountability and children are released haphazardly off school grounds.

We started receiving behavior reports from Ms. Erika almost every other day. Instead of using supportive and encouraging strategies, the discipline methods included having my son sit on the "red chair" for extended periods or taking him to the office to sit alone. In my opinion, these approaches did not help him learn or improve his behavior. Instead, they only made him more frustrated, anxious, and emotionally overwhelmed. It has now been about a month since we left the school, yet my son still talks almost every day about how he felt ignored by Ms. Erika and how she never noticed or acknowledged his good behavior. During the entire second half of the school year, I cannot remember a single time she praised or encouraged him. Every communication we received focused only on what he did wrong. What is even more concerning is that there were two teachers in the classroom. Whenever Ms. Erika was absent, we did not receive behavior reports or complaints. This makes me believe she was simply unable to build a positive relationship with my son. Unfortunately, I also found her communication with us as parents to be cold and unsupportive. Instead of working together to help our child succeed, we often felt judged rather than supported. As a parent, I deeply regret choosing this school because I truly believe this experience negatively affected my son's confidence and emotional well-being. A preschool teacher should make children feel safe, valued, understood, and encouraged--not constantly punished or made to feel like they are a problem. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this school, especially the Apple Orchard classroom with Ms. Erika. I sincerely hope the school administration takes feedback like this seriously and ensures that every child is treated with patience, kindness, and encouragement.

The experiences aren't simply activities to fill the day; they're designed to help the kids explore and learn. We love the weekly art atelier with an Atelierista, food atelier with a chef, and music program with a music teacher. At the art atelier, for example, it's not just about handing kids crayons and paper. They might explore how paint colors change when mixed with other colors or water, or experiment with different materials and mediums. They even bring in different animal specimens periodically for the kids to observe and talk about. It's clear they're constantly finding new ways to spark curiosity. They also put a lot of emphasis on helping children understand their emotions and learn how to communicate and express themselves, which I think is one of the most important skills everyone should have. At pickup, it's truly a treat hearing about something our little girl did that day, something new she tried, or a challenge she's working on. What I value even more is hearing the educators' observations and how they're helping guide her. I appreciate that their curriculum includes SEL (social emotional learning) and that the students aren't allowed to have cell phones while on campus. The highlight of our experience has definitely been the fantastic teachers! Adrienne Reighard has been a phenomenal teacher for my third grader. She's genuinely interested in getting to know each of her students and finding ways to support their learning. She's so calm, patient and kind, yet firm enough that the kids listen and respect her. She goes above and beyond to create a supportive and efficient classroom environment. And as a parent, I really appreciate her clear, consistent communication. Becca, the 3rd grade teacher's assistant, is also proactive and really gets the kids. Patrick, the Spanish teacher, is one of the most dynamic, engaging, and effective teachers ever. His students love the fun activities and catchy songs he incorporates in his class. He makes learning fun! He also teaches chess and woodcarving and it seems like he can make any subject interesting. Kristy Fitts and Christie Fullerton were also great teachers, and planned lots of engaging projects, field trips, and holiday-themed activities. We have been pleased with all of their teachers so far, but my son's 4th teacher Alexa really stands out. She is vibrant, engaged, and kind, and I can tell genuinely interested in the students and eager for them to learn. My son is sad to see this year come to a close because he has enjoyed the year so much. He has generally not been one to seek out opportunities to lead but Alexa has trusted him to do that, and I can tell it has boosted his confidence. My daughter's teacher this year for third grade is Adrienne. My daughter loves her. She said she is so patient and kind, but she get's the kids to learn. My daughter told me the other day that she wants to become a teacher because of Adrienne- what better testament to her teaching skills than that! My daughter will be sad to see the year come to a close as well. And finally I want to give a shout out to Natasha, the theatre teacher, and Sam, who teaches ceramics. Just wow. The theatre program at Innovations is truly one of a kind. She puts on so many shows, it is hard to see them all! I have enjoyed each and every show I have seen. My kids have also enjoyed classes with Sam. This is also a unique opportunity that not every school has to learn pottery, and working with ceramics to make various things like flowers, pizzas, ghosts, snow men. I love the projects they bring home. No school is going to be perfect, but as a family we are very grateful we found such an amazing school.
