This is about 50/50. The staff was polite, on the ball with returning calls and emails, organized, etc. They were even able to provide a photographer after ours had to back out. The day of the wedding, the place looked wonderful. There were a few glitches though and I have a few recommendations: 1. If you have dietary requirements...spell it out exactly and double-check. I asked for a couple of vegan options, and specified steamed vegetablese. The cooks sauteed the veggies in butter. (apparently either misunderstanding or being incorrectly informed). 2. The photographer's assistant managed to piss off most of my family by being so rude. And she actually ARGUED with the photographer, who LET HER. I nearly smacked her with my bouquet out of frustration. 3. Careful with the florist. I had no specifics beyond "orange and purple" and mentioned a few flowers i like and that I wanted a SMALL bouquet. I got one that must have weighed 10 pounds. All the other flowers were great, but mine was gaudy and too heavy to carry. 4. Ask them to leave you food for the reception. I had assumed the coordinators would leave a meal aside for my husband and I. They did not...we had to scrouge up cold scraps at the buffet. 5. Don't let them rush you. They hurried my husband and I through photos, cake, dances, etc. and were busy making memories we were not acutally having. In our dazed state, neither of us were able to say STOP. So have a friend do that for you. Otherwise, you won't get to see people that couldn't stay long and will have 2 hours to kill afterward with half your guests gone. There was NO reason for all the hurrying they did. 6. We had more photos of the DJ than our friends. And those photos we had were all POSED. No candid shots...just a bunch of people saying "cheese". So either get your own photographer or be VERY specific regarding what type of photos you want. Overall, they were very good. The people who work here are RUDE! This is a terrible place for weddings and special occasions because they will RUSH you through your special moments and then kick you out the door. The worst part was that they really ripped us off!! Weddings are not cheap and the owners buy the cheapest version of things (flowers, candy, food, photographers) and then pocket the money. For example, we spent $200 on a candy bar, which consisted of a few red hots and starbursts and THEN they had the nerve to rip the leftover candy out of our hands when we tried to pack up the leftovers. They only let you post if you give them at least 2 stars.** Let me start off by saying, "what looks good on the outside isn't always good on the inside." That's the case here. The wedding of my dreams was ruined due to two people, the owner, JoDee, and the DJ she selected, Sean Smith! The Problems with JoDee: She was very rude and nasty attitude. She lacks professionalism and customer service. She made a lot of promises and didn't fulfil them. For example, no bubbles were provided, the Ring Bearer pillow and the Flower Girl basket was taken away from the kids, there wasn't enough rose petals for the flower girl to throw, provided the wrong groom's cake, & didn't prove 2 to-go plates as promised. Then, she served cake around 10:30pm, which caused us not to cut the groom's cake. We left us with half of our wedding cake that the guest was suppose to eat. Problems with Sean Smith, DJ: He didn't attend the wedding rehearsal! He didn't know logistics of the wedding and made many errors. He pronounced names wrong, especially the Groom's name multiple times. He was dancing and mingling, instead of DJing. He didn't stick to the song list provided to him. We requested multiple time (at least eight times) to switch the genre of music and he never did! He wasn't able to mix our first dance as requested. He lied and said he knew how to mix music. The mixing of songs was poorly done. He promised a private last dance would be done with the bride and groom only and that didn't happen. Enchanted memory wasn't something I received. I have horrific memories of my wedding experience and wouldn't wish this on no one. Don't waste your hard earn money for services such as this. They just take your money and do whatever they want you for your wedding. This was suppose to be our moment and it was taken from us. read more

I'm not sure what these other reviewers are talking about. We got married May 16, 2014, and the ceremony and reception could not have been any better! It was a wedding beyond our dreams! From the time I arrived, I did not have to think about a thing! JoDee and Ruby took such good care of me. We discussed beforehand the itinerary and JoDee was sure to let me know that I was running the show. They would gently remind me of when something new was going to happen. Our ceremony was gorgeous. They did much more than I was expecting! We got as much time as we wanted for pictures. Afterwards we came in and ate a delicious meal! We cut our beautiful cake and did the toasting and then outside to dance the night away. It was by and far the most memorable night of our lives and we cannot express how happy and thankful we are to JoDee and her crew! read more

I had seen about 15 other venues and I was OVERWHELMED so I chose EMOH. I chose them because of the package deal they had running at the time and the location was good for my friends and family to attend without travel issues. The venue was also very nice and simple and that's what I was looking for. The first day I met with the owner (JoDee) she was VERY nice as she took our first $1500.00 deposit. She was all smiles and willing to answer any question or concern we had. Before I go into my complaints, let me also so say that there was a family feud at the end of our wedding by the time the wedding was over. HOWEVER she was rude and out of order in so many different ways long before the day of the wedding. I first had an issue with the owner and her staff at the second visit (the food tasting). The food was just ok; it was bland and not seasoned well. I had to ask the owner to have the caters to add more seasonings and spices. My guest later stated that the food turned out good. I say this with kindest of words and the calmest spirit, her assistant does not come off very friendly at all! She keeps this look on her face as if you are bothering her when you ask a question. Not to mention when contacting her bartender about the mix we needed to purchase to use in our borrowed daiquiri machine... he was VERY, VERY unprofessional and arrogant. He told me and I quote "if I'm not "renting a machine from him he doesn't know how to work it because he doesn't know how to work other people's machines". Long story short.. This venue is very nice but they try to live off just that fact, they don't want to do anything extra to make your day special. They have just basic décor not to mention two dated center pcs to choose from. This venue does not cater to the individual bride. Everyone's wedding is the same or will be if you don't go out and spend hundreds of extra dollars to make your wedding YOUR vision. LORD FORBID IF YOU ARE WANTING OVER THE TOP, or are looking for a themed wedding. THIS VENUE DOES NOT CATER to those kinds of things. My wedding was just a simple summer chic theme and it was like pulling teeth to get them to comply. Every time I asked her to do something different or other than her norm I should say she tried to talk me out of it or suggested something else. She is just plain rude and lazy! My family members complained about her being rude as well from on-site visits with me, to the rehearsal day and right down to the wedding day. She says that the whole venue is yours to use yet she suggests just using one space. She had to be told to set up tables in two areas more than once. On the day of my wedding she still didn't have the tables set up in the dining hall and in the chapel as I requested .My wedding was to be held outside but we had to practice inside and the bridal party was totally confused about how it would go on the actual wedding day. She doesn't move past the dining room and she and her staff communicate by walkie talkie. They messed up a lot of small details that meant a lot to me but my guest never noticed. Another big issue is she runs behind the time line/schedule she creates and then rushes you. DO NOT LET HER RUSH YOU! I think I have said enough about this venue.I will never give them my hard earned money (almost $9,000) again but I will leave it up to you to rent this venue or not. If I had it to do all over again I would have picked a venue with that cost more with better customer service! read more
