I've been coming to this self-serve car wash on and off since 1990. It's always been clean, convenient, and easy to get in and out. Unfortunately, my last visit will probably be my last. I was charged $15 for just a 6 minute wash. For the same price, I can drive a block north or south and have someone else wash my vehicle for me. Been using this one for 20+ years, thought I'd finally leave a review. Price: $5.00 minimum. I find that with my small car, I can soap, spotless rinse, and blow dry the water off my glass and mirror. Hint: The "spotless rinse" really means just that, people! No need to knock yourself out drying your car! (chuckle). Never had a spotting problem in 20+ years. Downsides: 1. The "Blast Dry" nozzles are frequently duct-taped together. Materials and workmanship issue here, folks. 2. The vacuums are HORRIBLY overpriced and over-gimmicked. Avoid. Washed my car here yesterday. When I left it said the total was $8.75 or so. Today I checked my bank account and they are charging me $15?! Tried calling the number listed and it no longer works. I really liked going to this DIY car wash. Now I'll have to find another. UPDATE: Turns out it seems they may put a hold on your account for a certain amount. A few days later the correct amount was charged, and the $15 was removed. Hopefully this happened for others. read more

I read reviews that they overcharged but went anyway and was overcharged, and I will not go back because no way to contact them by phone, no customer service. There was so much soap that I had to rinse the car for quite a while which added to my price. They should not be doing business, somebody reliable should take over. read more

Wash stations overall are better than what I'm used to for self-service stations and all dials I've tried seem to work well, however, the prices are not good any more. $15 for a 5 minute wash? Just used the rinse and normal soap. This is basically the same price as a lot of actual car washes with labor involved that is not your own and free vacuum included. I'm pretty sure I was overcharged, and that it's not technically overpriced, but either way I'm going to have to dispute this transaction. read more

Credit card not accepted at car wash payment machine bay 2. I had to get change so machine gave me quarters. Guess what? Car wash payment machine coin insert slot was jammed. So, it wouldn't accept quarters or credit and I had no $1 or $5 bills that it said it would accept. Pain in the neck. So, I waited for another bay to clear (10 minutes) and used that bay. It worked fine. An attendant was on site so I explained the issue with the machine. He behaved as if he didn't know it and thanked me. He also cleared cross water lines and repaired broken air dry tube in my bay so I appreciate his help. Will try the car wash another time and see how reliably the payment machine works. read more

Call me crazy, but I like washing my own car and my lazy way to do this is with a self-serve car wash. Encinitas buggy bath makes it easy to take care of Black Betty when I do not feel like whipping out the bucket, sponge and vacuum at home. This do it yourself car wash has 4 covered cleaning stalls and some vacuum pumps that areunprotected from the blazing sun. I like to go after the gym, when I am in workout gear and stinking up the place and don't mind getting a little wet. Bring a lot of quarters, $3.00 is not enough, but they take $1 and $5 bills (no change given). I usually wash my car to get the soil off before I start scrubbing since that just grinds the dirt into my paint. Power wash their big foaming brush before doing the dirty deed with it, who knows where it has been. When I want a deeper clean I will get her nice and soapy and let the time run out and take my time on her nooks and crannies. Load the buggy bath back up with money to rinse and polish. I like to take my time and do Betty right! The vacuums have a long wand and great suction and are much more convenient than my setup at home. I may not save money running the wash twice and then vacuuming, but it is fun and I get a little exercise at the same time. read more

If I could leave less than one star, I would! I was overcharged with several $5 and $1 payments... all adding up to $42. All I wanted was a QUICK soap and rinse. However, I couldn't get that because their machines likely don't get serviced regularly. Furthermore, the dial on their machines are loose and doesn't always select the setting correctly. Example: I would select only water and the foam brush would be activated. Not cool. Not going to pay that much for a wash that I do myself anyway. Pretty good scam if they are doing that intentionally. I called them at their listed phone number to reconcile, but was only able to get a voicemail in. It hung up on me before I could finish my message. DON'T GO HERE if you really care about taking care of your car and it's paint job. If you put the wrong solution on your car accidentally, you could end up ruining the finish. If you care about a business and your patrons, you should probably take care of your facility and service so that people can get what they expect out of it. A friend had told me to go there but it was hard to understand how to work it so after every cycle I thought I had to pay to use the next cycle. My cc ended up with a $40 bill and I tried to call and text the company. I go no response. I will not be going back. I rather pay $10 at the car wash down the street where they hand wash the car for you and Vacuum the inside too. read more

Pretty good scam. They say no spot rinse and still a bunch of spots show up after using all their soap and fancy features. Such as the blast-o-dry. Shouldn't have any spots at all there's no excuse, the water filter is poor and the reason spots show up are because of minerals not filtered out of the water. Theirs a creepy old guy that works there and literally camps out in his trailer that turned off the car wash after putting in almost 30 dollars to wash our car to dancing it some drake music because he was disrupted and we didn't get our money back... he then says "not as fun as it was now huh" they lost so many customers while he did that a lot of people were watching bc they were so mad this is messed up and I will never come here again I do not recommend it read more

I used to like this place, but more often than not something always seems to be broken. Either the hoses leak and the water pressure isn't where it could be, or the vending machines take money and don't deliver, or (and I know this is my own fault in not being quick enough) the time isn't long enough on the equipment. When you put more and more money to get your stuff done, you quickly creep up on an overall price that rivals getting a cheap wash at a drive through and hand dry place. In the end, when it comes down to doing a hand wash, I think I should just go to my dad's house and use a bucket and his hose. Saves money and you do the same amount of work. For a self service wash, I was pleased. Love that they take credit cards, too. I'm able to wash and mostly dry my car for about $5. The options all worked as designed. The suds are thick and soapy. The water pressure is strong and effective. Perfect stop from the Carlsbad & Encinitas beaches before driving back home. Gets all the dirt, bugs and sea salt off for a clear ride back. The option I was least happy with? Air drying mode. It just doesn't work as well in reality. Though the pricing is affordable, it isn't clear how many minutes per dollar. read more

This is a self serve carwash but don't plan on getting your money back if after taking your money the carwash is out of order. I tried to get help from the person working there and was told it was user error basically. I asked if I could get credit so I could finish my wash. He walked toward me and said, "why should I give you a credit"! Very confrontational and in your face. He walked away so I just left never to return. Visiting this gorgeous beach community and desperately needed to remove layers of sand from the inside of my vehicle. First, unless there is an open wash bay it feels like you're hanging out into traffic while you wait. It's awful! The credit/debit card machine does NOT work, the foaming brush doesn't even come close to getting any grime off of the car, and the pressure on the rinse is so low that I had to put in extra money just to get the soap off.
