Extremely disappointing experience with Encinitas Dental Center. I spent nearly $3,000 over the past two years on two crowns, and from the beginning there were issues with the sizing and fitting of one of them. After all that, the crown came off in less than two years. When I came in hoping they would simply stand behind their work, I was shocked that instead of addressing the problem, they tried to charge me a fee just to reattach the crown. After spending thousands of dollars at this office, they refused to offer even the smallest courtesy to fix a crown that clearly should have lasted much longer. This isn't about the money--it's about professionalism and accountability. A reputable dental office should stand behind their work and care about patient relationships. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I now have a different dentist and am relieved to no longer be a patient at this office. Based on how this was handled, I will be pursuing the matter further, including through legal channels if necessary. Patients deserve better care, transparency, and accountability than what I experienced here. read more

So 6mo ago the front lady told me I needed 3 fillings redone, and 2 crowns redone, she typed up my estimate, I left, decided to cross reference the codes with my online California dental network app. My standard fillings shows 30.00 with insurance but they had 175.00 per filling. Then she told me I needed Invisalign which was 6700.00 but she told me I have amazing insurance and that she would do it for 4500.00, I was like WOW, how is this possible, my insurance shows I don't have orthodontics, and I showed her on my phone app, clearly shows NO NOT covered. She rudely stated she can't believe anything that's on my phone. So I called her out and shied her that her code for the crown wasn't even on my list under insurance. The dental office is an absolute sham. I have been getting regular cleanings my entire adult life. When I switched to EDC, I did xrays and was told I needed over $2000 of dental work (all not covered by insurance coincidentally.) The front desk woman is rude, pushy and berates you that you wouldn't pay on the spot. I grew skeptical and went to a dentist on Encinitas Blvd who told me I have no work needed. Apparently, they have had a few patients with the same experience. I spoke to a mom at my kid's school who works in marketing and said they pay for the 5 star reviews which makes sense. Save yourself the money and pain and find an honest dentist that cares about integrity and patient health. read more

I had the worst experience with Kara, the very unprofessional front desk, lady. It took an in person request, a request over the telephone and then a third request where I had my dental insurance company on the line with me just to attempt the submission of a pre-authorization. I knew I was quoted extremely high at my first appointment. and I believe the reason she still hasn't sent in in the pre-authorization (over 2 months later) is after being presented with a large bill for everything I told her it would be closer to about $500 as I have very good insurance. Sending in the pre-authorization would have brought to light the several thousands of dollars in over charges. She's also extremely rude on the phone overtalking you and always in a hurry and ready to hang up. I would never step foot in this dentist office ever again and do not recommend them. These are the real reviews from real patients. There's another site where the reviews are better and they could possibly be Incentivized reviews. And the response of this office to an honest negative review is always to say you left the review at the wrong office. leave it at another one. I'm sorry, but this chain of dental offices is all connected. I don't normally leave negative reviews but I had to leave this one. My experience over the past two months just trying to get a pre-authorization and some service was just ridiculous. And thank God I did not let them start treatment oh, and by the way everybody that goes there "needs' Invisalign which adds to the total. read more

I just left Encinitas Dental Center where Dr. neville stayed late to do some fillings are repair my chipped teeth. Not only is he extremely talented at what he does, his knowledge is extensive and he is a charming fun dentist. He just fixed my husband's tooth and my son will be seeing him on Wednesday. Love our new dental insurance and Dr. Neville. He's a gem! read more

My appointment was rescheduled twice by the office, the first time due to the doctor was out of country and second time due to the doctor had a procedure to do. I finally came at 3:30 pm today, but I waited over 40 minutes before the doctor briefly examined my teeth at 4:12 pm. He then checked if my permanent retainer was ordered. After another 10 minutes, I asked the front desk, and Kara informed me that I need to pay $950 for the final retainer. If I don't want to get it here, I need to make another appointment to remove the attachment, which couldn't be done today. The time I spent waiting was enough to remove the attachments, but it took an hour to receive this information. I've been coming here since 2017, but I wish I never come here. read more

I went for tooth ache and they made a bad job, (filling, )I had to pay $9800.00 for a replacement bridge that was placed in a rotten tooth. After 8 months I went to a different dentist and I now need a root canal and a new bridge. MEDIOCRE dentist I wouldn't recommend for anything! read more

I saw Dr. Maroon once when he owned Carlsbad Dental Arts. He seemed like a good dentist but when I walked in for my second appointment two weeks later, a gentleman looking like a Doctor was standing in the reception area. I asked, are you a new dentist here? He responded I am the only dentist here and "Dr. Maroon sold me his business". I said, "In the last two weeks?!" He said yes. It would have been nice to know I was seeing a completely new dentist at a completely new business before I walked in. The new dentist did a new exam. All the findings were about the same, except the cost went from an estimated $5400 to ... wait for it.... $14000+. I called Dr. Maroon's office in Encinitas to see if he could see me, and honor the first estimate he gave me. Receptionist told me the deal they made restricted them from seeing any previous Carlsbad patients. It is really outrageous the price differences for the same procedures. And its disgusting the way the whole thing was handled. I shouldn't walk in a doctors office to such a complete change in Doctors, staff, and especially prices. Someone should have called or emailed previous patients to alert them of the change, and give the option to ME whether I wanted to see a new dentist at a new practice. The whole thing was handled very poorly, and if this is the consideration Dr. Maroon has for his patients, it says a lot about him. Horrible businessman. I'm going to Washington Dental in Tijuana to get all the work done instead. Good riddance Dr. Maroon and your shady business practices! read more

Dr Maroon is the best dentist I have ever had. Plus, his staff is wonderful. I have been seeing him for about a year for multiple crowns and fillings. He is the only dentist I will go to and I trust him implicitly. He is now working on my fiancé's teeth, and has done such an amazing job. My fiancé sent me a picture of himself smiling for the first time because of his beautiful teeth that Dr Maroon has been repairing. Dr Maroon has literally changed his life and now he can smile again. And, he has done an amazing job for me as well. This place is the best. I would highly recommend him. read more

First time client for a cleaning, will never come back. Waited an hour for a five minute cleaning that was the sloppiest I've ever had. I was shocked when they said I was done, I've never had a cleaning where literally all that was done was a VERY rough teeth polish, didn't scrape buildup, do fluoride, or floss like every other basic cleaning I've gotten twice a year my whole life. When the 'cleaning' was done the girl just got up and left so I had to guess it was done and I just wandered out. I am so upset at the waste of time and money. read more

It's not a wonder no one wants to claim this dentistry. This is just awful. Wanted to charge $300 for an dental cleaning and didn't want to do a basic due to "health concerns" which just seemed like BS. Then when I pushed they said yes it was no longer a health issue but all of a sudden okay. I knew this was a scam since they took X-rays and then stopped right before doing the cleaning and wanted to charge me $700... shockingly I would have worked with them on some of the things but everything else seemed just crazy. It's truly sad to say that the dentist is amazing but the office manager is a nightmare. I will never go back based on Kara's unprofessionalism. I should add that she has no problem wanting for the dentist and patients to let us in to our scheduled appointments. She just doesn't care. read more

Dr Maroon is terrific. Best dentist I have ever had, very caring, listens to your concerns and does a great job. I have had 3 crowns and 1 root canal, almost pain free. He is concern, gentle and fast. Highly recommend him and his staff. Kara the office manager is friendly, professional and always go the extra mile to set up the appointments very accommendating. I have been calling the dental office for over three weeks without a return phone call. Whenever I go by the office, the door is locked. I have been using the dental office for my Invisalign treatment. They are in possession of my last four trays - that I have paid for. At this point I do not know if I will need to take legal action to get my property. It appears that they have closed their doors without the decency or professionalism of reaching out to their clients. A response from the dental office would be much appreciated. read more
