I delivered a Robern mirrored bath cabinet door to Encinitas Glass to re- mirror. I was told it would cost $109 and be ready in a week. It was finally ready about 3 weeks later. When it was reinstalled it was 2" too wide. I returned it with a second door to show them the appropriate measurements. I received a call 1 month later saying it was ready. I have attached a photo showing their second effort. You will notice the mirror is about 1/8 " too tall and broken along the vertical edge. I decided to live with their shoddy work . This company installed my original shower doors in two bathrooms as well as some mirrors on some closet doors. The product has been excellent over the years and they came back several times to ensure they installed their product perfectly. Fast forward to several years later, one set of doors required adjustment from settling because that's just what happens. I called them to come adjust it and I expected to be charged to get them readjusted since it had been several years after installing them, I was surprised to hear when they told me there would be no fee. The two-man team just finished adjusting the doors and they were excellent! They even replaced the plastic shower door sweeper on the bottom. This place is great, good products, excellent service. We've had nothing but trouble with Encinitas Glass. First they gave us bad information about the thickness required for plate windows. Then when they discovered the problem they just stopped our order without telling us. So a week later when our order was supposed to be done was the day they let us know they hadn't even started! On the same day (12/10) we ordered a set of Milgard operational windows since the owner there assured our contractor that he was a licensed Milgard dealer. They were supposed to take 7-10 days. Two weeks later our contractor is calling Encinitas Glass every day trying to get a hold of the owner and find out what's going on. On 12/27 he finally gets him on the phone and the owner says "any day now". So our contractor calls over to Sierra Padre (a larger local glass mill that has its own issues) and gives them the dimensions for the windows and asks "how long would these normally take"? just to see. The girl at Sierra Padre says 7-10 days and then adds "you know that's funny, the owner at Encinitas Glass placed an almost identical order just yesterday, only in a different color." That's right, Encinitas Glass had JUST NOW placed our order, NOT direct from Milgard as promised, in the wrong color and with the dimensions slightly off. Our contractor finally got through to the owner on the phone and confronted him with these facts and asked "When were you going to tell me?" His answer: "When they showed up." We cancelled with them and placed the order with Sierra Padre. Our project is now almost a month behind schedule because of their incompetent and dishonest bumbling. I've told this story to a couple of friends now and every time I tell it someone goes "Encinitas Glass? I had a TERRIBLE experience with them!" How this place has been in business for so long with such an awful track record is anybody's guess. If you want my advice, it's DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ENCINITAS GLASS. read more

We had relatives coming to visit and our guest bathroom needed an upgrade from the cheap shower curtain to a glass shower door. With only a week notice and we knew this would be a difficult task to accomplish since everyone was quoting us a 2 week lead time. James Long the installer was amazing! He went way above and beyond what was expected, taking extra time to ensure everything was done properly and actually fixed something that was already there and had nothing to do with the installation. I wanted the flexibility to easily change the mirror in the future and requested that it be installed with top and bottom clips to secure it to the wall. We chose metal clips that matched the existing faucets. Their installation was perfect and the mirror looks great. read more

Our designer, Sterling Interior Design, hired Encinitas Glass as a subcontractor to install mirrors throughout our home as part of a $1.5 million remodel. Mirrors were installed in our kitchen and six bathrooms. The mirrors were installed in the summer of 2014. In early 2015, before our remodel was even complete, the mirrors began delamintating - brown ugly patches began to form on the sides, top and bottom of the mirrors. The patches grew slowly over time. Sterling Design told us the mirrors were "diseased". At that time Encinitas acknowledged that the mirrors were defective, and replaced them. In early 2017 the mirrors were delaminating again. Encinitas glass has come out on three separate occasions to look at the mirrors, Each time they told us they would give us a proposal to replace the mirrors again. But they never gave us a proposal, and finally when we pushed them to do so, they told us it wasn't their problem, and told us never to contact them again. We are now having the mirrors replaced by a different company. The new company told us that the cheap materials used by Encinitas glass tend to delaminate if they are treated and installed incorrectly, and that the mirrors should have been sealed before installation, and caulked afterwards. Encinitas Glass did neither of these things. Mirrors should last longer than a year or two. Reputable vendors stand by their products. If you are considering Encinitas for any glass or mirror work, we strongly recommend you keep looking. read more

I ordered a custom door from Dallas he misquoted the door by $2000.00. They did not order my door for three weeks after I signed the contract and gave the deposit. They continually schedule appointments appointments and did not show or call. When the crew came to install the door they incorrectly installed the door and had to make three return trips to fix. I requested multiple times to speak with the owner and when I finally got to speak with him I started to review the issues I had with the install and he immediately told me to go F@*# my self. I have been building custom homes for 18 years and have never seen such horrible and unprofessional service. I would never use this company agin. Encinitas Glass is not worthy of your time or business. The workmanship of the employees who serviced my home ranged from fair to competent (thanks to the gentleman who finished the job), Matt--a supervisor--talked a good talk, but delivered the minimum necessary to finish the job, and the in-house sales and estimating team of Marianne and a colleague was just plain incompetent. We contracted with Encinitas Glass to replace a number of pieces of glass in our newly acquired dream home. Prior to contacting Encinitas Glass, we noted nine windows that had fogging or scratches, a few additional were letting water into the house during heavy rains. The first estimate from Encinitas Glass called for replacing the glass in seven windows and included over $2,000 in labor to shore up the leaks. The total was $4,373. Noticing that some of the damaged windows seemed to be missing from the estimate, we requested that the estimator revisit. His subsequent estimate called out eight windows in need of work, the total jumped to over $5,200. Surprise! We noted a damaged window missing from his estimate. Another visit from the estimator, a re-revised estimate calling for the replacement of nine windows and a new total--including the same $2,062.22 in leak fixes--now just shy of $5,600. Now it was time to question why the leak fixes were estimated to cost over $2,000. I inquired as to the hourly cost of their repairpersons, and the cost of materials. Marianne could find no justification for the $2,000 price tag. The new-new estimate brought down the cost of the repairs to $460.97 and $496.25. Yep, this estimate charged us twice for the repair work--and the amounts were different. Total cost now... $4,652.34 This brings us to the last new-new re-revised-estimate, same nine pieces of glass to be replaced--although we did ask Encinitas Glass to use only tempered glass. Interestingly, they thought that it was acceptable to use non-tempered glass in a tub area. Total cost dropped to $4,191.67, including $496.25 in leak repair labor. From over $2,000 to not quite $500--over a 75% reduction, and no explanation offered. Can this get more ridiculous? It sure can. On the first day of the job they used the wrong stops--they hold the window in place. To top it off the installer used gobs of glue to make the wrong stops work. The result was visually hideous. Matt--the supervisor--explained that the manufacturer no longer produced the stops on our existing windows, and agreed that the work preformed was poor. He would check on finding better fitting stops and send a more skilled installer. As for the stops, I called the company. Another surprise, Milgard still produced the stops. Encinitas Glass ordered the OEM stops. Alas, they are slightly different from the ones used thirty years ago, although still much superior to the stops pulled from Encinitas Glass' inventory. Meanwhile, back at the installation: not only did the installers fail to wear booties in our home, they stood in our bathtub with their workboots on. They were asked not to return. Matt--the supervisor--explained that this should not have happened. Thanks for the clarification Matt. After much complaining, the job was finished competently by the final installer who visited our home. Not a big surprise, but there has been no follow up with regard to outstanding issues. None. I have called Encinitas Glass numerous times. They do not return my phone calls. I suggest looking elsewhere for your glass needs. read more

If you live in Oceanside don't call these people. I called Thursday a tech came out right away awesome person took measurements. I was told I would get quote next day, that didn't happen. I called following Monday to get quote and rude customer service lady tells me they will call me back in 5min, that didn't happen. I call Tuesday I finally get quote and it's $200 more then other places quoted me. Along with that the customer service lady tells me that I'm to far away and that I shouldn't be calling them. If I was told this on Thursday I wouldn't have an issue but, to get the run around and have them send a tech out to get the BS run around and also double the price I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless u like dealing with crappy customer service read more

They don't return phone calls, they don't care if your glass gets delivered, or if it's delayed, or if its incorrectly made. I have not one positive statement to make about this company.
