I got a haircut from someone that really was prepared to do a different cut for me without being pushy. Definitely a new customer!

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with my experience at Mirabella after years of positive…read moreexperiences with this salon. I booked a full highlight and haircut for noon, and on the morning of my appointment, my stylist asked if I could move to 2 PM to better accommodate her schedule. I agreed. After processing my highlights, my hair was washed and toned. My hair is very fine, but I have a lot of it, and it tangles easily. She then spent nearly an hour detangling my wet hair with an extremely fine-toothed comb, which I have never experienced a stylist using to detangle wet hair. At no point was I told I would be charged an additional fee for this or that the time spent detangling meant there would no longer be enough time to complete my haircut. After about 2.5 hours, my appointment was abruptly ended because the next client was waiting. I was sent home with my hair soaking wet and uncut and told I would have to come back another day to finish the service I had originally booked. I was then charged $225: $140 for highlights, $25 for additional product, $25 for toner, and an unexpected $35 "detangling fee" that was never discussed with me beforehand. I called the salon twice afterward because I was so frustrated with how this was handled. My stylist later explained that she couldn't finish my appointment because she had already pushed her next client back 30 minutes. I found that particularly frustrating considering I had moved my own appointment by two hours that same day specifically to accommodate her schedule. I understand that appointments can run long and additional product can cost more. What I don't find acceptable is adding an undisclosed fee and ending a booked highlight-and-cut appointment without completing the cut or even drying my hair because the next client was waiting. I was offered another appointment to come back for the haircut, but after this experience, I have no desire to return.

From the moment I visited the website, I knew this salon was something special. The elegant,…read morewell-designed business website truly sets them apart from other salons--it reflects their professionalism, attention to detail, and the high-quality experience you can expect before you even walk through the door. Deron did an incredible job on my hair. He truly brought it back to life, restoring its health, shine, and style in a way that exceeded my expectations. His skill, care, and passion for what he does are very apparent, and I left feeling super refreshed. Michaela also did an outstanding job coloring my teenager's hair. Her attention to detail was exceptional, and she took the time to make sure everything was done perfectly. The color turned out beautiful, and she made my teen feel comfortable and listened to throughout the entire process. What really makes this salon stand out, though, is the atmosphere. Every single person who works there--whether you're their client or not--greets you with a smile and checks in on you. That level of genuine kindness and care is rare and makes the entire experience feel welcoming and special. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for exceptional service, talented professionals, and an environment where you truly feel valued from start to finish.

I started seeing Carol Kelly at Upper Cuts and she is the first one to cut my hair the way I wanted…read moreit. She also did an awesome job with putting highlights in my hair. I am a brunette with short wavy curly hair. Carol really takes her time to listen to you and to do your hair. She used a razor (which has a wavy edge) to cut my hair. It really helped to bring out the individual waves/curls. I also say wavy/curly hair as it is not tight curls. But with the right cut it helps bring the curls out. I wanted a cut to where I did not have to be a professional to style my hair at home. I do not like to spend a lot of time with my hair and Carol made that possible. All I have to do now is wash my hair and maybe put a tiny bit of curl product in and either scrunch it or pull it over in the front and I have a beautiful style. I am 69 and this is the very first time anyone has ever cut my hair to where it really accentuates my facial features. If you had a bad experience there, I would recommend to try them once again. When you are dealing with someone, always repeat and make sure they know what you want. That is one thing I have finally learned after all the cuts (among many other things) in my 69 years of life. Make sure they know what you want and that they take the time to hear what you want. Sometimes people are in a hurry, but just need to be reminded in a kind way to slow down by letting them know you want to make sure the two of you are on the same wave length. I am sorry anyone may have had any unwanted experience here, as that is not mine. One person there wears hearing aids and so she misses some of the conversation. She is a sweetheart, but sometimes people are short with her and she misses out because of it. But, I can tell you she will do her best to get the cut that works with what you want. I have only gone here twice, but I know that if i don't get the exact thing I want the first time, by working with the stylist there I will get what I want. Sometimes people have some hardships going on and it is well worth our time to extend grace to them. Then after a few tries either try another stylist there or move on. Carol Kelly is my go to person for my hair now. Thank you Carol, you are not just a high end stylist, you are a highly sweet, patient kind person! Cathy D.
