Just last week it came out that a music director at one of the high schools have been sending female students sexual emails for years, not only did he work at that high school but multiple in the district and MIDDLE schools. He got to resign, not fired but resign. They refuse to speak about it. Teachers have to protest for fair contracts. UCS is one of the top 15% districts in Michigan, if that were really true I'm petrified to see any district below it. I'm a graduate from one of their schools and have gone to 2 of their elementary schools, 1 of their middle schools, and 3 of their high schools. I have siblings at an elementary school different than one than either of the two I went to. Shit all around.

The classrooms are huge and spacious, the teachers GENUINELY care for the kids they care for, and they spend time doing activities that challenge their brain. This is such an awesome thing for babysitting too, and it's a great price for all of the cool things they do all day. (To my knowledge - It is currently the only Classical Christian school in Michigan that is accredited through the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS), and you can see why--it is deeply intentional about both faith and academics. From the very beginning, it has felt more like joining a church community than simply enrolling in a school. We fully agree with and support the statement of faith, and we love seeing biblical values lived out even in small ways; like the boys being taught to hold the doors for girls and carry heavier items. The school affirms the sanctity of life, encourages Godly standards for both students and parents, and grounds everything in piety rooted in Christ. The teachers clearly love what they do, and it shows. They are supported not only by leadership but also by parent involvement, which creates a strong sense of partnership. The communication is incredible--daily contact with our child's teacher, weekly updates from leadership, and constant connection with other parents in the class. That's something we deeply appreciate. Another thing that stands out is the way the community handles challenges. Because the school is full of believers, we all share the most important thing in common: Christ. That means when conflict or drama arises--whether among the kids or adults--it's addressed with a spirit of repentance, forgiveness, and restoration. We also love that the school is intentional about keeping education classical and Christ-centered. There's minimal technology in the classrooms; the kids read from real books, and cell phones are checked in at the main office all day. It's refreshing to know they're learning in a focused, time-tested way. Uniforms and dress codes are another thing we appreciate. They take away the stress of deciding what's appropriate and set a standard of dignity and modesty for both boys and girls, especially for formal events. We haven't yet experienced the sports programs, but we're excited to dive in and support BCS in all the ways we can. To say we recommend Bloomfield Christian School would be an understatement. Let's just say he has a bit of an extra challenge. But I can't even express the power of amazing teachers!! Every single one of his teachers this year fostered his confidence. He's a shy child but, his teachers told me he was a top participant in his classes. They encouraged him and praised him and also assisted him to use his skills in unique ways. For example, an art project for my son is daunting. He gets very stressed. He doesn't have the coordination to cut and paste or anything intricate. His teacher worked with him and allowed him to use his computer skills instead. So he was producing videos and power point presentations in place of some of the assigned work. This entire year, I knew his teachers cared about him, and his grades and wellbeing. I am sure this is also a reflection of great leadership on the administration side of things as well! Nate went from struggling last year in virtual school to shining brightly! With his math and science teachers' encouragement he applied, and was accepted, into Utica's Center for Math Science and Technology! He also managed to get on the all A honor roll! Thank a teacher! They can make an enormous difference in your child's confidence! I can't believe I have a Freshman now!

Utica Community Schools rock! I have 5 kids that currently attend 2 of the schools in the district…read more My oldest is at the junior high, but because he is in 9th grade, he's in the matching band for Eisenhower High school. This school is as exceptional, as the rest in the district. When we sold our house back in April, our number 1 criteria for finding a new house was that it HAD to be in the Utica district. We bought a house in Slate August, just days before the start of the new year- and it WAS in the Utica district. So close to our old house that our kids did not even have to switch school. The teachers are amazing and willing to help and go above and beyond 110%! They are willing to meet at your convenience- if you ever need to talk or if you see your child struggling. The inside of the schools are always immaculate- even if there is 100s of kids spending 8 hours plus inside. I can't say enough good things about Utica Community Schools. I'm so pleased with the education my kids are receiving!

It is obvious he feels comfortable and is happy each day when dropped off and picked up. Both the owner, Sandeep, and director, Amee, are extremely personable. They keep an open communication line between the parents, teachers, and themselves; making it easy to feel confident and comfortable with leaving our little boy in their care. Our little one is crawling and beginning to want to walk, so he will be moving to the First Steps room in the next few weeks. We expect to feel just as confident in his new teacher and for him to continue learning and developing as he has. We would definitely suggest The Goddard School to anyone!

I went here once as a guest of my friend's alumni party a while back. It was quite an elaborate class reunion. They had tents set up with tables, almost like a wedding party gig. The food spread was quite nice as well. Warm and cold food items available. The campus alone is quite beautiful for a walk on a weekend. Mitt Romney went to school here. Walk of alumni in the courtyard. I have a few friends that are alumni to this school. It's a top 10 preparatory school, I think. I see why.
