Just last week it came out that a music director at one of the high schools have been sending female students sexual emails for years, not only did he work at that high school but multiple in the district and MIDDLE schools. He got to resign, not fired but resign. They refuse to speak about it. Teachers have to protest for fair contracts. UCS is one of the top 15% districts in Michigan, if that were really true I'm petrified to see any district below it. I'm a graduate from one of their schools and have gone to 2 of their elementary schools, 1 of their middle schools, and 3 of their high schools. I have siblings at an elementary school different than one than either of the two I went to. Shit all around.

Especially the athletic section. The students are still there until like 9 PM or 10 p.m. And my shift ends at 11 PM. The principles are asshats. They would complain about literally about everything. Even when it's summer break, they would try to fire part-time custodians, because didn't like the "way how they clean".

Let's just say he has a bit of an extra challenge. But I can't even express the power of amazing teachers!! Every single one of his teachers this year fostered his confidence. He's a shy child but, his teachers told me he was a top participant in his classes. They encouraged him and praised him and also assisted him to use his skills in unique ways. For example, an art project for my son is daunting. He gets very stressed. He doesn't have the coordination to cut and paste or anything intricate. His teacher worked with him and allowed him to use his computer skills instead. So he was producing videos and power point presentations in place of some of the assigned work. This entire year, I knew his teachers cared about him, and his grades and wellbeing. I am sure this is also a reflection of great leadership on the administration side of things as well! Nate went from struggling last year in virtual school to shining brightly! With his math and science teachers' encouragement he applied, and was accepted, into Utica's Center for Math Science and Technology! He also managed to get on the all A honor roll! Thank a teacher! They can make an enormous difference in your child's confidence! I can't believe I have a Freshman now!

This school is as exceptional, as the rest in the district. When we sold our house back in April, our number 1 criteria for finding a new house was that it HAD to be in the Utica district. We bought a house in Slate August, just days before the start of the new year- and it WAS in the Utica district. So close to our old house that our kids did not even have to switch school. The teachers are amazing and willing to help and go above and beyond 110%! They are willing to meet at your convenience- if you ever need to talk or if you see your child struggling. The inside of the schools are always immaculate- even if there is 100s of kids spending 8 hours plus inside. I can't say enough good things about Utica Community Schools. I'm so pleased with the education my kids are receiving!

Nonbeliever students do not have a chance to come to know Christ here. Jesus taught us to tell everyone about salvation. Many of the staff members are teachers and pastors. I went into the office to resolve an issue and waited over 40 minutes before they decided to acknowledge me. This happened on several occasions. Parking lot etiquette is awful. I repeatedly told staff that my child was not allowed to buy candy from the fundraiser. And also never approved private music lessons but these charges were always taken from my bank account and never refunded. Based on my son and daughter's experience, they teach more hate than love at this school. I ask that Christian's pray for this school that they might make a u-turn. The administration continually shows an interest in helping the students and form personal relationships in order to help them grow. All in all, it's a great school and I would recommend sending your students there.
