I paid $150 to have crap quality (heavy, plastic, matte black - way too long, asked for natural, these were NOT natural looking at all), massive lashes put on. To try and get them removed was such a hassle and I wasn't offered a refund or to replace them with natural looking lashes. The lady who put them on was so surly. So rude. If she had spent 5 minutes asking me questions before the appointment just asking what I wanted none of this would have happened. She saw I was pregnant and couldn't even be bothered offering me a knee pillow. I paid $140 for lash lift and tint. Afterwards my lashes were the same colour and my lashes were as straight as when I went in. Bitterly disappointed. I did these things as a luxury for myself. Lift and tints for birthday. Extensions for pregnancy (and being pregnant means you have so little options to do nice things for yourself).

There's a massive cow rug on the polished floor boards, an awesome wingback chair quilted with diamante deep set buttons, plus other decor to match the period and of course a gorgeous chandelier. The owner has put alot of thought into her business and it shows from the shop right down to the business card and if it was made of chocolate...I'd eat it. The Oxygen Lounge is new to this tiny strip of shops along busy Holbrooks Rd in Flinders Park and they offer a bounty of beauty services. A small selection of regular services is waxing for men and women, tinting, manicures and pedicure and massage. The one area which is a point of difference is eyelash extensions known as Xtreme Lashes by Jo Mousselli and Pure Oxygen facials. I can't profess I've tried these but I'm sure they are great and will enhance wellbeing as for prices their range is from $12 to $160, those in the know can do cost comparisons. They don't have a website but have a Facebook presence and there are no opening hours for the salon as it's only by appointment.

What I like about Pretty Eyes, other than the price and close proximity to my home, is that she trims and combs your brows in all directions... fantastic for particularly hairy or unruly brows... however I am not so hairy, and one of my brows is full of scars. So, as she didn't bother asking what shape I'd like, how thick etc, my brows now look incredibly sparse and much shorter horizontally than they were. Thankfully, this is not the end of the world as I tend to fill mine daily, but for others this would be horrifying. All in all, it's probably worth a go if you're a local, but I certainly wouldn't travel too far to get my pretty eyes happening here.

She blatantly ignored my request and gave me the biggest arch, completely destroyed my eyebrow shape and changed it to what she wanted, a shape that doesn't suit my face. She also removed so much hair that I barely have any eyebrows left although there was a lot of hair there previously. She also made my eyebrows so asymmetrical where my right eyebrow has essentially no hair left and my left brow is thicker. AVOID this place at all costs!! They do not listen to what you want, they do not know how to keep your eyebrows thick and will BOTCH them! Don't fall victim to the same fate that I have suffered, I don't even want to leave my house since they have destroyed my eyebrows.

I have the less well-known tape ones, which cost more, but do not damage the hair like other styles. They also lie flat and are comfortable from the get-go, unlike microbeads which hurt initially with the weight pulling on your scalp. I'm the first to admit that I'm a total fuss-pot and I wasn't happy with the quality of the hair installed. I highly doubted it was Russian as promised, as I'd quickly realised my new tresses were full of split ends and straw-dry. I tried using an expensive conditioner and trimming endlessly to no avail. Three months later I returned very frustrated and asked to have them out as the hair was tangling like mad and driving me nuts. Chrissie was wonderful. She agreed to remove the existing extensions free of charge and replace the full head of hair on the house. My only regret is I didn't return earlier to complain, as they claim to guarantee their extensions and obviously are good for it. So all's well that ends well. My tip is stay away from the razor cut that are usually done on extensions, instead fork out for a proper cut at your usual hairdresser and no one will know it's not your own hair. Zeal also do beauty services, the most unique of which is the Vajazzle, I'll leave that one to your imagination. In a nutshell - instant glampuss!

In fact, their service and warm helpfulness began on the phone. Referred by a friend, I phoned looking for a short notice booking for myself and two girlfriends. We wanted to all have facials at the same time, prior to my friend's wedding the following day. They bent over backwards to accommodate us and after some creative juggling on their part, sorted us out a booking just when we wanted it and complete with a private room so we could bring our own champagne and nibbles. We each had a facial in succession, while the other two stayed in the 'champagne room'. So we were there over 3 hours and they made us feel so welcome and pampered. Each spa treatment begins with a foot spa, which feels amazing. New clients fill in a questionnaire based on Ayeurvedic principles and temperaments, to determine the type of aromatherapy oils and blends that are most suitable. A complimentary hot beverage is also part io the treatment as is a small gift pack of products and information on the first visit. Their marketing materials could be the subject of a 'this is how you should do it' masterclass. The treatment room is dimly lit with candles, smells divine, has unusual and pretty ornaments and features as well as relaxing music. I saw Kerri who just made me float away with serenity. She was sensitive and professional. All of us came out absolutely glowing and our skin felt sensational! I felt compelled to return the following week for a full body aromatherapy massage and saw Rose, who was also sensitive and professional. The care and attention as well as the take-away feeling of utter relaxation and rejuvenation is just amazing. I can't recommend them too highly. The salon offers a range of services including beauty treatments, the patented Anastasia brow treatments, hair and nails. Can't wait to book in again. I could get used to a life filled with L'indulgence!
