Oussama Derbal performed our furnace mtce today. He called in advance letting us know when to expect him. He arrived on time. He was very courteous and respectful. Also extremely thorough, turning up the furnace to perform the service, going outside to check the vent, meter, etc. At the end of the service, he explained all the results of the inspection & asked if I had any questions, which I did not. He also mentioned the saving as we have a mtce plan. All in all, a 5 star employee. Thank you. read more

Terrible company to deal with. We were one of the flooded out homes in Crystal Beach. They wouldn't come out until August 6th to change our hot water tank, so expected us to go without hot water from July 1st to August 6th. We have chosen to pay out the remaining cost of the hot water tank and purchase through another company who installed within one day. Horrible company. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I lived at an address where I moved out and they tried to start billing me 5 years later. The same also happened for another address that I moved out of despite closing both accounts. I've received total harrassment with emails, texts and up to 10 phone calls a day saying I owe them money when I didn't. The people I spoke with had terrible customer service. They would not listen nor help in any way despite the fact I had a case ID and an email that indicated I did not owe them money. I asked repeatedly to stop calling me and one lady said they would absolutely not until the money I supposedly "owed" them was paid. Any time I needed service they would say that it wasn't their problem and would not fix the unit. Honestly a complete joke. read more

Omar with the Irish accent was fabulous and was able to resolve my on-going issue in a matter of minutes. I still will never go back to Enercare but at least they have one person on their crew who gets a 5 star rating and deserves a raise. Seriously, , if I could apply a negative star rating I would have. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this company. Let's start with, DO NOT ALLOW THIS COMPANY ACCESS TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS OR CREDIT CARD. They withdrew money from my account which shouldn't have happened, (not just $50 bucks or some minor amount). I'm currently on my third phone call to their billing department after being promised the money would be returned. I hold little hope. I should mention that, when I had covered issues, (no heat) I contacted them for a service call, the "expert service technician" attended, to make a long story short they attended 3 additional times and of note on the 4th occasion the subcontractor Enercare had attend almost burned my house down and I was forced to ask him to leave. It was only on the 5th service call for the same issue that someone competent was sent and the matter repaired within 10 minutes. Be very cautious. read more

They were both excellent technicians and really did a great job on both appliances. Their service was courteous, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Had Enercare Ottawa install a new furnace and heat pump. First hint there would be problems is the install crew said it should be a 2 day job but they were allowed only 1. Issues: tore out insulation and vapour barrier to install exhaust and air intake for furnace and did not replace it damaging envelope; heavy condensation on windows for which the sales person had no answer except t wasn't their equipment. After a month discovered they had unplugged the heat recovery/air exchange unit which balances indoor humidity and fresh air; old system was water heater as heat source. They disconnected but left all the old pipes behind; sales person did not explain the "cash back" credit card had a built in time limit and fees associated with renewing card to avoid losing the value; calculated the comparative price for the units against monthly fees and in 10 years I will pay roughly 3 times the value. Sales person offered to send back crew but I did not trust them to be in my house again. Then offered Install manager. I asked what he would do specifically, what the objectives would be and from that point on they ghosted me. Wrote a google review on their site and a week later it still is not visible. Only 5 star reviews visible. read more

Dealing with Enercare has to be the worst night mare one can have. They promise to call, they never call back, you get transfered from dept to dept, none of them can help, but the next dept will help. Trying to get an answer for a simple question of how much a part cost and the cost of labor to install took me 6 calls about 10 hours, and I never recieved an answer. The system has been set up so that there is no one to complain to, and no one can be held accountable for anything. I feel sorry for the agents, they are courteous and follow the script, and are helpless to serve the customer. Terrible terrible. read more

Avoid Enercare for service at ALL COSTS. I made an appointment with them to pick up an old hot water tank and they gave me a 4 hour pick up window. Not only did they not show up, they did not even have the courtesy of calling and letting me know that they were not coming. I took a whole day off work to wait for them. They DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR COMMITMENTS! Worst yet, their telephone services is a nightmare of wait times and ambivalent customer services workers. I wish I could give zero stars. Enercare somehow signed me up for some kind home warranty program that I did not authorize. This was for a home that did not have natural gas services, and therefore I was not a customer of Enbridge, who handles Enercare's accounts. They then apparently sent bills to a home I lived in years before. I received an email saying my account was past due and I didn't even know I had an account! I called Enbridge and filed a dispute. This was then transferred to Enercare. I was told it was cancelled and taken care of. Fast forward a few weeks and I received ANOTHER bill from Enercare for services I didn't sign up for and for which I was told the dispute had rectified. I called Enercare and they transferred me to Enbridge, and the call dropped. I am so tired of dealing with this. read more

Enercare is terrible! Don't rent a hot water tank from them - Afer 17 years of monthly payments on the unit it died - could have purchased 7 tanks for the same price. Don't rent your tank at all. Now they have the audacity to change another $100 to end the contract AND I have to pay someone else to disconnect and remove it!?? Absolutely horrible experience. I am a tenant and i have moved out of the property that was transferred to an enercare account like a week before we had to move. I submitted a move request and double checked with someone in customer care to ensure i had done it right. I have been changed 2 times since then and they are now trying to come after me for money when i wasnt even at the property. They have sent the amount to collections now because i refuse to pay for a property i am not living in. They have the landlords information and the contact info and have given me countless excuses and have had me on hold for more then 10 mins multiple times. they keep sending me around to different departments to get this "figured out" and this is the 5th time ive called about this. the care is absolutely awful and i cannot believe they are even still recommended as a company. I have never had any issues with a service provider that was this bad. not one person has helped or adjusted whats going on. If anyone from enercare sees this, figure it out. this is ridiculous. do better. i cant believe im leaving a review like this. WORST COMPANY EVER. read more

WORST Service - I called them two days ago to get my hot water tank replaced and put under a monthly plan. The call centre agent (based in another country and very hard to understand) went through the details and I requested I wanted a hot water tank tray installed as part of the installation scope. They said "not a problem" and the cost for the monthly rental would be $40.63. I agreed as long as they could install in the next two days from the call. They said "yes". The technician comes on site to review the job and they state the tray is $100 extra, the humidifier line would have to be installed as it was not to code and they could not install for another two days. The technician was just the messenger as two Managers he was communicating with were stating these items. I tried talking to one of the Mangaers and he just talked over me and I just left the call. Very rude. So, Enercare did not honor the agreed to installation schedule, the cost and were forcing me to have some of my plumbing uninstalled. Why is Enercare forcing customers to uninstall lines for humidifiers when this has no bearing on the hot water tank installation or operation? I asked the technician if Enercare had to inspect my kitchen sink plumbing as well to ensure that was to code and would they force me to remove the sink if it was not? Enercare is a waste of time. I have not found anyone that is happy with them. Sure, people are happy with them if they do not need to interact with them and you just keep paying the monthly fee. As soon as you actually need service, the customer experience is very bad. read more

Mr. Patel telephoned before arriving in order to verify that I would be there and to advise that he would execute the maintenance service as per my annual contract. After 25-30 years ( or whenever the gas originally came to our community) of renting our 3rd hot water heater with Consumers gas, direct energy, Enbridge.......and now Enercare our recent heater now 14.5 years old has issues. It took 45 minutes to get through to a contracted call centre to schedule a service call 10 days away. With that we gave up and decided to buy and not from them. What a battle we went through to cancel our service. We were offered from a service warranty for our furnace (!?!) to discounts on another rental. They went on and on and on. Then for another 30 minutes we argued to get them to pick up "their" old heater. They wanted me to buy it out $140.00 (then what?) or personally deliver it to them for free in the back of my car? Ya right. But while waiting for a manager to call back I checked the original 14 year old contract. It says they are to pick up the dammed thing for $75. Talk about swindlers. STAY AWAY. BUY a water heater and get it ELSEWHERE. read more

I needed a new water tank as a condition for the sale of my house. The 2 technicians that enercare sent out told me that the duct work was not up to the 2007 code changes and I would need new duct work, a new furnace and I needed to move an electrical outlet. They red tagged both my water tank and my furnace. I had another HVAC company come out and they noticed that the duct work was actually pulled over so that it looked like it wasn't up to code. I will never trust another service company again and I certainly will never deal with enercare again. This was criminal and deserves less than 1 star. read more

At 12h15 on Saturday Jan. 26th, I run my bath & noticed that I don't have hot water. I check my tap in the kitchen & the one in the bathroom downstairs & no hot water either. I called enercare at 12h30 & 10 min. after I had a technician call me to let me know he would be at my place in about 30 min. He was right, he arrived at my place at 1h10 & diagnosed my tank & evidently there was a problem! There was corrosion on my ignitor which was not causing fire to my burner so it was trying to start & failing everytime!! Norm Rollin was the service technician that made the call & fixed my problem right away!! He explained every steps he was doing so I could understand what was the problem. I was able to enjoy a bath 45 min. after he left as I had to wait for the tank to heat my water! Thank you Norm!! ;) read more

We had the tech out to do a preventive maintenance on our AC unit in May, part of the contract. The unit is almost 20 years old and was working . He cleaned it all up made some adjustment to the interior system and remarked that it "was running well for it's age". Two days later the unit's performance degraded to useless. We called serviced again. The second tech looked at the unit without testing anything and said the coil had frozen and that it would be cost prohibitive to replace. He advised replacing the unit. That's interesting since it worked a month ago. Needless to say we are replacing the unit but not from these thieves and we are terminating our service agreement when it expires. read more

After 20 minutes of being transferred and put on hold they informed me that I still owe them two months of plan money. The plan automatically re-ups, but, you can never get thru to cancel. Then, they claim if you sell your home, you owe them the balance of their so-called contract. We have never in three years, have been able to schedule their so-called maintenance.
