Jim and his crew installed new siding on the house and six triple pane windows on the second floor. He has a crew of hard workers; some were still working at 7 pm. The window install was done on one day and then the siding crew came later and spent about a day and a half. When they finished, they cleaned up the yard. Being handicapped now I haven't been out in the yard to verify this, but Jim has put new roofs on our house and garage plus gutters and I'll admit that this old guy used to walk around the yard in my bare feet and never found a spare nail. We had some issues that were resolved between Jim and ourselves. Energy Masters will always be my recommendation for outdoor home improvement projects in our area. Now I'm waiting for a change in weather to see if we have any energy improvements. I hope so. read more

The owner responded to my review with comments that were not consistent with the conversation we had outside of Yelp. Very disappointing that he didn't just own up to him dropping the ball with our communication and instead making it appear as though I was asking him to cut his vacation short to help me. At no point during our communications did he indicate that this was family time or he would be unavailable He just stopped responding and didn't care until he saw the poor Yelp review. My roof, gutters, and basement windows have all been done by Energy Masters. Jim took the time to explain everything that went into the jobs. None of the other people who gave me quotes did that or showed the interest that Jim did. His price was a little below the others and the quality was great. He showed up on time, too. The company was very thorough and did a great job. The second job was at our family home. Did a great job repair our flat roof porch and awning. Have not had any leaks into the garage since. Jim did a fantastic job replacing our roof. I called him due to noticing water leaking down a bathroom window. When I looked in the attic, I discovered a 6 inch diameter section of the roof had rotted away and the shingles were collapsing in. I called Jim that evening, he was out the next day, gave an instant quote, and we scheduled a complete re-roof. The projected start would have been in 6 weeks due to ordering materials. He was able to get everything in 3 weeks and he was here repairing the damaged roof, and installing new shingles and gutters which was completed in 2 days. read more

Originally, I witnessed the quality work Energy Masters performed installing very custom matched siding on my neighbors Post Civil-War Victorian home. My neighbor had other work done in the past by Energy Masters and he gave a high approval. I desperately needed a new roof so I called Jim, the owner of Energy Masters. He met with me the same day I called to discuss roofing material options and help me with financing. I should mention my house was built in 1902 and had three layers of tile plus needed a complete re-deck. Also, my city home is wedged, very tightly, between my neighbors' homes with about 7ft on either side. This being said, it was not a cheap project but very fairly priced. I knew because I previously had other quotes. About a week later, after my initial meeting with Jim, about 10 guys showed up and finished the roof in two days! They were careful not to damage the surrounding homes and had cleaned up everything. It was a whirlwind of labor. Jim showed up at the end of each day to make sure the job was going well. I am a foreman in the trades myself. I know the difference between a fast reckless job and craftsmanship. I appreciate workers that show up on time. These guys were amazing! I'm really impressed with the swift process from the day of the initial meeting, to the day of service rendered. While this was surprisingly painless for me, I know it was Jim's busy season. When I first bought my house in 2011, I had Jim come out and quote me for a glass block window for my downstairs bathroom. Jim was kind, courteous, helpful, and honest, which was a relief to a first time home buyer. Energy Master's workers are clean, polite, and mindful of your home to make sure everything was the way you left it after the work is done. In the last 6 years, I've had Jim's company out 3 times. I had 5 more glass block windows installed in my basement in 2012 and recently had some roofing repairs done to replace an old chimney in April of 2017. I had my roof replaced last March by energy masters, I was very pleased with Jim and his crew, all the work was done timely, they came in the morning, at some point in the afternoon I left, but when I returned at the end of the day, all the work was finished, all the debris was removed and the walks cleaned up, and I had a brand new roof, great job, well done! Jim McGuigan owner of Energy Masters has to be the absolute worst sales person I have ever dealt with in my 67 years of life. He got all bent out of shape we I told him I was getting other estimates. He would not give me a written estimate or proposal. He insulted my intelligence by quizzing me on his mediocre info lacking presentation. all he did was criticize all the other companies. Never mentioned any type of warranty or color options. Never added in his verbal estimate his suggestion of adding a second downspout on a long gutter run. Energy Masters continues to lie. Stopping the patio roof leak wasn't an after thought. Again, we paid $1200.00 ($1200.00!!!) to fix the leak. The last time Jim was here he went on the roof and began STOMPING around. Then he came down and said we needed a new roof after only 16 years. There is no video.
