I called stan and got a quote of $1,540 to blow in insulation into a 1400 ft² home. I decided to clean out the old insulation myself, and about halfway called stan to ask him how much it was going to be. He said " $500 normally, but since you've done half the work i'll do it for $300." I was elated, because I thought it would cost around $850, which I happily would have paid. I threw out all of my insulation cleaning gear, figuring I wouldn't need it. Stan texted me 3 days before the job, telling me it was going to be $1,540, and they wouldn't clean out the insulation, "because that's not industry standard." Then he raised his price to $700. If he had originally quoted me at $700, I happily would have paid it. The fact that he increased his price, 3 days before the job, and failed to be honest is why I decided not to go with him. Horrible experience. This company damaged my property inside my home and then the owner tried to negotiate down / low ball what they would reimburse me for as a take it or leave it deal that was unacceptable. Wouldn't replace items or pay for damages to be fixed. Kept saying they stand behind their work until they had to remedy the damages. Only asked to get my home back to condition before they did the damage. Even spent 3.5 hours cleaning their mess myself as best i could. Contacted BBB to try to resolve. Owner told me to sue him if I wanted. Brought other contractors in to give quotes to fix their work. Suggest you be cautious when doing business with them. My two cents. read more

Buyer Beware! Energy Seal guarantees to solve your Bonus Room heat problems by sealing the entire attic with foam; however, what they don't tell you is that they cannot seal the bonus room above the garage so they isolate it and leave this room exposed to the UN-insulated roof that you hired them to solve in the first place. I paid a lot of money for Energy Seal to insulate my house in order to solve my hot bonus room and the rest of the house is nice and cool but the bonus room heat problem is not solved because of the way they insulate around it. Because they cannot get above the bonus room they seal around it which does nothing for the bonus room which heats up very quickly and requires the A/C to run long and often just like before I hired Energy Seal. Other companies will tell you the only way to truly solve the Bonus Room heat problem is to remove the ceiling drywall and insulate from within and they are correct, so if you primarily need to resolve the bonus room heat problem, don't hire Energy Seal; find another contractor who will do the job correctly from the beginning. read more

Energy Seal did seal the attic of the house the first week in January 2013 and seemed to do a fine job. The sealing itself seems good. They were nice and pleasant. The attic and consequently the upstairs is much cooler than previously. I think it will be similar in August given how cool it was earlier in the week when it was in the 80s. Unfortunately one of the guys stepped through the ceiling putting a hole in it. I understand that accidents happen and they said they were going to fix it and put it back the way it was. The only problem was that it took until April 26, 2013 to get it fixed. All in all, they did eventually fix the ceiling, I just wish it had been faster. My recommendation is that if there are ANY problems do not pay the full amount until they are 100% resolved so you have a little leverage. I will say that although I had paid in full, they eventually DID fix everything back the way it was, they DID the right thing, and did it properly. I would have given 5 stars if it hadn't taken nearly 4 months. read more

I too had energy seal do my home. I have had nothing but trouble. The attic is very humid water forms on the ceiling. The attic is not sealed. Wish I never had it done, the attic was better before they ever touched it. I was promised a sealed attic I didn't get that. Doesn't work read more

My spray foam insulation was a great investment. It has surpassed my expectations. Definitely worth the money. The workers were professional and knowledgeable. One star is far too many but the least allowed on yelp. We have had nothing but problems ranging from charging for areas not done to high humidity from gaps in foam. We were promised a partial refund through Better Business Bureau hearings but Stan Nagle never followed through and stopped returning phone calls. We have have, subsequently, spent thousands repairing his shoddy work. read more

I contracted with Energy Seal to spray the crawl space and thought all went well. A few years later contracted to spray the attic. The attic installation was fraught with NUMEROUS problems that Energy Seal either couldn't, or wouldn't correct despite written promises to do "anything it takes" to correct. The attic, which was supposed to be sealed, was not. Moisture built up, mildew began to grow, finishes on antiques stored in the attic were destroyed. After a year of pleading for resolution, another contractor sealed the attic in a few hours. The second contractor also found that the crawl space had not been completely foamed as contracted for....not sure what law was broken with this on Energy Seal's end but since E nergy Seal refuses to make me whole again by repaying for out of pocket and fixing some other unsealed areas we may soon find out. BTW, the humidity in the attic dropped immediately after the second contractor completed his work and it has never risen to unsafe levels as was the case with Energy Seal. Shame on Energy Seal for hardcore sales followed by poor installation, seemingly little knowledge of how to fix something and deflecting blame onto the consumer. read more
