He mentioned quite a few issues in the report, however, there were MAJOR issues not mentioned that we found out about later that could have been avoided. The first problem- The son noticed the exterior outlets seemed as though they were not working correctly. Mark told him he used the old tool that does not work. We thought they figured out the issues but all of our exterior outlets did not work after moving in except for 2. -Our fan in the bathroom was not connected to anything so it just blew all of the air into the attic. We found this out because the roof was leaking above the bathroom since they installed the vent incorrectly. -We were having work done in the crawlspace and he never noticed live wires just sitting on the foundation. This has been irritating me ever since we started having problems with the house that could have been avoided. I also understand wanting to teach your son to join the business but I think there could have been a better way to go about it than just letting him go off on his own during such an important inspection.

After receiving my inspection reports (just a little over 24 hours after the physical inspection!) I was even more amazed by how thorough the report was. It just cataloged a long list of possible problems and said I should have each of them investigated by a qualified contractor. But of course hiring a qualified contractor to investigate each of the possible problems would have been completely impractical. The report seemed to be mostly an exercise in protecting themselves legally. For the customer it didn't do much good. Although the inspector invited me to call him afterward to discuss the report, which probably would have helped, he was never available. Also, their office was very difficult to deal with, providing conflicting information depending on whom I spoke with. Afterward the company asked me to complete a customer survey, where I described my complaints. The survey's automated response said "We want to make this right" or something to that effect, but instead the owner sent me a hostile email arguing that none of my complaints was legitimate. A very disappointing experience all in all.

I would suggest to either never have her call customers until her attitude is better and retrain her on simple answers to questions that MOST customers would have regarding home inspections in NJ or remove her from your business altogether. At the beginning of our homebuying journey we had vetted a few realtors beforehand. Other realtors we spoke to programmed our wants/budget into their system and were just sending us automated e-mails of listings that fit those parameters (which felt like something we could have set up on our own...) We went with Nicole because we loved how personalized she made the process, she really does make you feel like you are her only client. We had a group text going where she would send us the listings that actually fit what we were looking for and it allowed us to keep an open conversation with her about all the questions we had as first time home buyers. A surprise bonus was that Nicole actually flips homes in her spare time and is extremely knowledgeable at what is required to make certain updates in the home so she was able to provide rough cost estimates (on adding an extra bath, new flooring, etc) which proved to be tremendously helpful as we started looking at fixer uppers. She made the process as smooth as could be, but there are always circumstances that are out of your control.... Which brings me to the grand finale of Nicole's awesomeness on closing day. During our walk-through just hours before closing we entered our soon-to-be home to find 70% of the seller's belongings were still there. Without skipping a beat Nicole took control of the situation and assured us we would get everything out in time for closing. In a pair of nice sandals and in the pouring rain, she helped us move out an entire house within hours.
