From the outside it seems like any regular historical building -- but the quantity and quality of the displays within create a fun spot to enjoy an afternoon with plenty of learning opportunities. I'm not sure you'll find any larger collection of Route 66 themed items than on the lower floor here. Being immersed in these objects really gave me a feel of the history of Route 66. Attached to this are several other museums covering everything from murals to the Titanic to the Civil War to the 1940's and more. Truly a must visit set of museums that's worth a special trip.

My wife does Tuesday night league and we go back on Thursday nights for the Queen of Hearts drawing. So on average during the summer we are there 3-4 days a week. Members at DCC get the added advantage of playing in course tournaments. 4-5 guys 15-18 team scrambles. Different formats and levels of competition. Buy-in's to play to win club house prizes make it all the better. Gives a great opportunity to meet different members and play golf. Dinner is rather good here. The menu is diverse but not over crowded and sometimes I could just do the salad bar it's so good. The manager, Joe, is such a nice guy. Type of guy who learns the name of everyone who walks through the door and what their favorite drink is. The bartender, Deb, is attentive and makes really good drinks. No Mustangs, Corvettes, or Firebirds, although there are a few one-of-a-kinds mixed here and there, but otherwise, if you grew up in or near the 80s, you'll have some memories of many of these cars from either driving them or riding in them. The Pinto, the Datsun, Escort, Aries, etc, etc. Not sure exactly how many cars are in there, but it's two decent sized rooms (long) and some of the cars are pretty much door-to-door. The owner/curator met me at the door and gave me a quick rundown of the museum. According to the owner, all of the cars run and he makes sure all of the cars are moved/run at some point so they stay operational. Beyond the cars, there are quite a few 80s nostalgia pieces in the museum -- oil lamps, board games, toys, bikes, etc. The museum is free with donation STRONGLY encouraged ;-) (the owner met me at the door and pretty much waited for me to drop some bills in the donation box).
