I felt comfortable with her right away. Amy promised that she would leave really good notes so that Brookelynn would be able to pick up right where we left off and she made good on her promise! Also Amy has kept me very informed on what my goals are which is very helpful. She regularly goes through my record with me and we talk about it which is so helpful as a patient. It makes me feel like we are a team. My first appointment I told her I had a hard time explaining my symptoms to the doctor because I didn't know much about hip anatomy and how to describe symptoms having to do with the hip. She has listened to what I am saying and looked it up and helped me to find the more common terms for what I am trying to describe. I also like that if I have a question about something, no matter what it is Amy finds an answer for me before I leave. And not just questions necessarily but also any concerns. Yesterday I had some questions about some things my PCP had said and I had concerns that the insurance was going to stop my physical therapy, and she asked Ashika the physical therapist for clarification. Ashika took the time to come in and talk to me personally and also she did some testing and recommended some new exercises. I love believe therapies. They really make me feel like I'm not alone, and I'm being heard. Finally!

According to my health insurance, the amount I owed was only about 1/5 of what I was charged. I was told by the billing office that Trinity Mother Frances has a policy to keep this extra money and distribute it to other parts of their health care system until all bills are paid. Even if you are current paying the other bills they keep the money until all bills are paid. According to them, this could take 3-6 weeks, and then they will mail me a check. I cancelled my second appointment. I recommend never using TMF healthcare services due to this policy.

Deborah was not a good fit for us. We did the initial evaluation and two subsequent therapy…read moresessions. During our initial consultation over the phone, she said she could easily get me some codes to file with my insurance to get in network benefits. She acted like it was no big deal. It took her so long to get me those codes and I had to keep asking her for them until she got them to me. She kept saying she would have them by a certain date and time and she did not. This happened several times. Over the phone, she made it sound like it was no big deal, and this is one of the reasons I chose her. But it was so frustrating to have to keep asking her for them. There were several forms I needed to fill out and it seemed so hard for Deborah to send the right forms. Some of the papers she sent me she later said were the wrong ones and it felt like she had never done this before. It felt unorganized. Every appointment started late and ran late and I felt like the time was not used well. The appointments ran over so in the end we probably did get 30 min worth of therapy even though it took 1.5 hours, but this is not efficient or professional. I was very excited about the initial evaluation, but I do not feel like we got much information from the $400 evaluation. There was a lot of time wasted talking about pointless stuff, so that at the end, when I wanted to ask questions and go over all the details of the evaluation, there was hardly any time. She never reviewed any of the measurements or details of the evaluation with me and I found out later that she never actually completed it. Deborah said she does feeding therapy, but during the chewing part of the evaluation, she wasn't looking at my daughter the whole time. She got confused during part of it and wasn't sure if she should write down something about the left or the right side. She seemed to get off topic easily. She forgot my daughter's file during one therapy session. She forgot food during the initial evaluation session and asked me to bring my own. When choosing exercises for my daughter to practice, Deborah seemed to randomly pick exercises without much thought into what she was picking and why. When we decided to pause therapy, we had not decided to cancel, just pause, she seemed to think we were permanently done. I asked for the evaluation paperwork, the one that we paid $400 for, the initial one that seemed like such a big deal, and she said she was backlogged and that her current patients were her priority and could get it to me within 1.5 weeks. I asked her why she couldn't just scan it and send it since it was the first paperwork done. She said it actually wasn't done and that it takes 1-2.5 hours to complete the written report with her interpretation, results and recommendations. This report was part of the initial evaluation, meaning the first thing done and that is what therapy is based on. How did we have two more therapy sessions when this report was not done? What was the purpose of the initial evaluation if the therapy sessions weren't even based on it? We paid about $400 for this evaluation and we should have been a priority while we were a patient. I had other providers ask me for this evaluation to help my daughter but Deborah never did it even though we paid for it. I asked for it over six months ago and I have not heard from her since. It is disappointing that I never got to know the details of this evaluation and I have no hopes that she will ever share it with me. I was hesitant to go out of network for Deborah, but she assured me that she would give me the best service possible. Not completing the initial evaluation, continuing therapy sessions without it completed, not making efficient use of time during sessions, forgetting things several times, not seeming that knowledgeable about some things, and not giving me codes when she said she would, is not what we were looking for. We did not gain any special knowledge or myofunctional information from going to Deborah. I feel like we wasted time and money. She also said that if an orthodontist does rapid palatal expansion that they are not airway focused. This goes against everything I've researched on how to treat open lip posture and narrow palate issues in an older child. Especially since after my daughter got RPE she could immediately breathe better through her nose. This was such a frustrating experience. I tried so hard to find the best myofunctional therapist in the area and I think I actually found the worst. I ended up going to another therapist that was in network and she was a lot more professional and helpful.
