Saw Dr. Paul Chin, originally diagnosed as labral tear, did PT and Chiropractic, no improvement. MRI revealed spinal isues, referred to Dr. Edmund Choi. More PT and Chiro and recommended Hemilamenectomy. No improvement, elected for surgery March 2024. Dr. Choi supposedly performed the Hemilamenectomy and pain level reduced for a couple of weeks, then came back worse than ever. Continued PT, Chiro and Aquatic Therapy with no reduction in pain. Even tried another injection. Nothing was improving. I ended up getting another MRI and a 2nd medical consult from a Nuerosurgeon who reviewed multiple MRIs (pre and post op) and questioned me as to what surgery Dr. Choi had performed. My new Nuerosurgeon at Memorial Hermann-Woodlands said there was no evidence of any previous surgery in my spine and we were both shocked. Needless to say, I hired the Neurosurgeon to repair my spine which he skillfully completed in August 2024. I'm now 100% pain free and walking well (no thanks to Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics and espcially Dr. Choi). A couple of positive comments re: SRO - Office staff are excellent. Dr. Beukelman is a great chiropractor. All the PT crew were excellent, especially Aquatics with Kristin! I can not recommend Dr. Edmund Choi and suggest getting a second opinion to ensure adequate care. I spent almost a year in debilitating pain because this doctor couldn't fix the problem. A HUGE disappointment...

Houston Spine and Rehab is it. They offer so many serves, like Physical therapy, aquatic therapy, massage therapy. I go on my lunch break and Im back at work. I have been a family member of Houston Spine and rehab for several years now. I have worked with two Drs in the family. Dr. Verhuel Most call him Dr V. He is a kind, caring and always thinking about his patients. He listens to your concerns, and discuss a treatment plan. Dr Verhuel called me personal to check on me after I had brain surgery. He recognized that I was not able to have a neck adjust even though my neurosurgeon approved the treatment. He saw that it was not helping my headaches. Therefore he came up with a different treatment plan that would treat my migraines. Houston Spine and rehab have technicians who do the massage therapy and I have worked with Andrew and Jess, they are both fabulous. What surprised me was Dr Verhuel also massage patients when the techs are working on other patients. I Appreciate that they value our time as we are all busy. I also saw Dr Ackerman , who is a wonderful Doctor, he is in the Woodlands. To wrap it up, if your nervous about going to a chiropractor, or looking for a new one, Houston Spine and Rehab is the place to go. To me it is my second home. It's a calm nurturing environment, which reminds me of family. Colleen

However, I stated to him before the procedure (twice )! already have X-rays and MRI images of my back. I made this aware before my injections. There was no need for the injections. The images I already obtained would have shown surgery could be needed. I asked him to look at the imaging which is why l asked for a second consultation. ****He should have told me this before my injections, not after!**** I feel like I just put a $3000 Band-Aid on my L4 L5 vertebrae. Least they could do is give a refund. Photo attached are my Xray images he deemed unnecessary to look at and his images he showed me as soon as I woke up from being under. This was a scam. Response to comment below: This was never about a guarantee, this was about giving me all the options and looking at the x-rays, which dr gentry deemed unnecessary. Funny how he looked at the X-rays AFTER the procedure to mention surgery but didn't look at the X-rays I had before the procedure.

James Puett is a Certified Hand Therapist who is extremely knowledgeable. He took time to educate me on the anatomy and function of my fingers to help me understand the healing process and treatment goals of the therapy. I actually looked forward to my appointments, even though it could be painful at times, because of the welcoming and caring staff.

But after several months making very little progress I was finally told they couldn't do anything more for me! And "yes" I did all the exercises they asked me to do. So I went to my doctor and explained the problem. Thank heavens he referred me to SEH as James had helped him when he had shoulder problems. The first day there, I had only 5 degrees range of motion in one exercise, and when I left an hour later, I had 40 degrees! All this is because James, Lauren, and Kiani know how to treat shoulder injuries - and they are so patient and understanding. Going to therapy at SEH is never quiet or dull - it's actually fun. Everyone is friendly, interested in their patients' lives, and have a great sense of humor! I was actually sad when I was finished with therapy! And yes, I made outstanding progress! I miss James, Lauren, Kiani, Maggie and Mary! You will not be sorry you went to Shoulder, Elbow & Hand! Linda
