We didn't even know we were there until we were leaving... the sign faces the park and not the road! The sign facing the road says something about a community center. There is a decrepit looking mini-golf out front, there is a decrepit gokart track out back... The one shining spot in this dreary wasteland is the driving range. It has a fantastic range. There are several astroturf pads on a berm at one end of the range. Each pad has a rubber tee that can be moved about for your preference. Off to the side of this berm is another that is just grass for that extra fairway practice. I didn't see if they had a practice green anywhere but I didn't really look. The range itself is very straight and well marked. Distance markers are very visible and color-coded flags also help. the range is kept well mowed so you can see where you land. The road runs along the side of the driving range so the odd slice is kinda scary, but it doesn't seem like you can hit the road unless you really try (I did... it was in the name of science!). Its $7 bucks for a big basket and $4 for a small.

I came here once with my dog and they're apparently very specific about dogs ONLY being in a little beach area. I wasn't letting him in the water anywhere else (I definitely want to be respectful of the main beach area and any swimmers), and he's always on leash when we visit, but I was followed around (from one end of the park to the other) by a member of the park staff during that previous visit with him They could never tell me what I was doing that they didn't like, but they kept trying to usher me out of wherever I was. My wife and I were headed to the Ross Zoo but opted out at the last minute due to the rain. This place is not designed for a couple of senior citizens to walk around but since I was here I decided to take a look outside. The outside walk through was magnificent and I could see my three grandchildren (one girl, two boys) truly enjoying all the touch and explore exhibits. Sound, flowers even a small playhouse. This type of exhibt really forces the children to use their sensory abilities including their imagination. One obvious observation is the tremendous use of color here. The design will surely captivate the children KUDOs to the team of the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier.

There is swimming for about 40 feet in, and then there are boat and kayak rentals for the rest of the lake. Let me tell you something - Kayaks aRe fun! You can go so fast in them. I towed both my friends with my kayak last time, they are wimps! Boats are pretty boring to me, I could never get the oars right. Oh, as of last year, kayak and boat rentals are free. wait... FREE! Even 1 dollar is a deterrant based on principle. Here it is so easy. So THIS is where my tax dollars are going... 5 stars for free kayaks. Love kayaks.
