The Belmont "Outpost" of Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat associates is truly a hidden gem. The Office Manager is a true gentleman who deeply cares and takes pride in his work and will go the extra distance to accommodate patients. He's truly a great individual. Front end office staff is caring, compassionate and efficient. Audiologist and Nursing staff are incredibly caring, kind and take the time to listen to patients in a nonjudgmental way. Nonetheless, the "Rock Star" of this operation is Otolaryngologist - Christopher L. Tebbit, MD. Dr. Tebbit is truly exceptional and has a bedside manner of the highest level. Dr. Tebbit is energetic, positive and takes pride in his craft. I can't say enough positive things about this medical professional. I would trust him to care for my very own patients for my family. Dr. Tebbit is backed up by a team of ENT Nurses and Support Staff that share his mantra of providing high quality and compassionate ENT care. After all, G-d only gave you two ears. He is truly a Mensch. Thank you Dr. Tebbit for taking care of this broken Physician once again. G-d bless you and may he continue to keep you strong and healthy. With Gratitude, Your Patient & Colleague - Dr. Orange ;-)

I was referred to Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat by my optician on 05/26/2026 for a suspected…read moredetached retina. I was examined by Dr. Matthew Wilde in the South Park Office who confirmed retinal detachment. I had surgery with Dr. Justin Brown of that practice on 05/29/2026 at Novant Outpatient surgery in Charlotte where I had a gas tamponade. Dr. Brown provided follow up care on 05/29 in the South Park Office and 06/08, 06/29, and 08/10 in the Belmont office. At the 08/10 visit Dr. Brown confirmed a cataract as a complication of the retina repair surgery and referred me to be seen by Dr. Casey Mathys in the Belmont office which I scheduled an appointment for 09/11/2026. Upon arrival the front desk staff on 09/11 I was asked if I was making a payment on the outstanding balance from the May surgery to which I stated that I had mailed a payment on Tuesday 09/08/2026. At that point I paid my $80 copay for this visit and was seated in the waiting room. Dr. Mathys's staff proceeded to prep me for examination, numbing my eyes for pressure check, imagining tests, refractometry and visual acuity, and dilated my pupils. At this point I had been sent to the waiting room for the second time when a member of Dr. Mathys's treatment team escorted me into a treatment room and informed me that he refused to see me due to the outstanding surgical balance, there were no business office staff available to discuss the issue, and my appointment was cancelled. If the outstanding balance was an issue, why did his office send me multiple email and text reminders of this visit? I understand their position, but they had a month to inform me rather than waiting until I was already in the treatment process and had accepted my copay that my appointment was cancelled at which point I was left with blown pupils and no sunlight protection. I feel that once treatment had started Dr. Mathys had no right to unilaterally cancel the evaluation. Second, I had been hospitalized at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia with severe vertigo from 09/08/2026 to 09/09/2026 that no doubt was exacerbated by the difficulty in seeing due to the cataract caused by treatment by Dr. Brown, and it was with great difficulty that I even managed to get to today's appointment. I could have been spared pain and suffering if they had been open with me prior to my arrival. I now have no choice to break continuity of care if I wish this to be resolved promptly. The joke is on Casey Mathys. I have met my OoP and deductible for this year. Whoever does my cataract surgery is getting paid in full by Aetna.

Where ever Doctor Brown and his staff goes i will follow. Now for Charlotte Ears Eyes and throat front office. If i strictly rate them alone i would give them a one star. They are not friendly and rude. They were basically doing collection work loudly with a customer as i was coming in. Talking about her business in the open and talking about collection in front of other customer. Saying how she owed over 2 thousand in the last couple years. These kind of conversation should happen in an office with somebody who cares. It's embarrassing and demeaning to somebody who is walking into a patient care facility.

I have had Tinnitus for over 25 years. The high pitched ringing was always annoying but manageable…read more I knew some CBT, and applying that worked to manage the tinnitus invasion in my life. But there were still times the ringing would get extremely loud for periods then fade back down to my base level. In 2015 I went to an audiologist who tested dozens of hearing aids and sound therapies, and they ended up saying, "We're sorry, but there is nothing to help" me. Then, in 2025 it increased rapidly and drastically. I don't know what the trigger was, but it was not manageable at all. It began to invade my days to the extent that I felt like I was going crazy from it. I got depressed, anxious, and felt helpless. Then I read about a newly FDA approved Tinnitus treatment called Lenire. It works through bimodal stimulation. The more I researched, the more I knew I had to try it. Audiology and Hearing Services of Charlotte offered it! It was a brand new therapy and this is the only place in NC that offered it. The clinic is less than 6 miles from my house. I couldn't believe it. I went for testing, and my insurance required that I try hearing aids first, so I did. Of course that didn't help. Then we got the Lenire and I began treatments. I followed the 3 month program, guided by Dr. Karp, and it is nothing short of a medical miracle. Dr. Karp is so thorough, so caring and so patient. She went above and beyond for me, and through Lenire and CBT especially for Tinnitus, I can live again. If I have a flare, I do Lenire for a week (I own the equipment and can use it forever as required. It is important to remember the a treatment is not a cure) and I feel better again. I have Tinnitus, but it doesn't own me. It's just a thing I have that I can now deal with pretty easily. I couldn't have had this success without Dr. Karp, and I am eternally grateful. I recommend Dr. Melissa Karp with my heartfelt thanks.

I have never walked out of a doctor so upset..I DO NOT recommend bringing your child here…read more My son, 5, struggles with attention and focus. We went in to see Dr. Karp for some adp concerns. During the evaluation, my son was fidgety and struggled to stay focused (as we knew). Dr. Karp seemed to get agitated with his lack of attention. Once again, he is a five year old boy and is currently in the process of being evaluated for his attention concerns as well. At the end of the evaluation, Dr. Karp concluded that she could not diagnose him at the moment due to his lack of attention. She mentioned how he should be evaluated for his attention concerns and get that under control before we continued with further adp evaluations. However, the most upsetting part of this visit was not her addressing his lack of attention. It was her suggesting my son be medicated and then stating that he will not thrive in a regular classroom setting. She said that he should be in a one on one or small group setting and that he cannot get that in the public school system. I am fully aware that my son struggles with focus, which is a BIG reason why I was sent to see Dr.Karp. Do not get me wrong, I will happily do whatever is best for my son. However, as an educator, I know that lack of attention does not mean he needs to be in a special education one on one or small group setting to be able to thrive in school. Proud to say, my son is currently thriving in a general classroom setting. This was extremely unprofessional considering she saw my son for a 45 minute visit and ADHD is not her medical field. I was also very disappointed with the fact that she continued to evaluate him knowing that she was not going to be able to give me any answers but wanted to charge me the full $500 anyway. It was very misleading and a waste of time and money. As an educator and a mother, I am very disappointed in this visit.
