Was referred by my PC to this office. Was seen by a doctor assistant for my issue. Was order to get MRI AND CT scans of my brain and ears. Then was told to see another doctor at the Kenmoor facility. Waited 2-1/2 months for appointment since i was a "NEW PATIENT" FOR RESULTS. Arrived for appointment on time to fill out paperwork. Overheard staff member tell another patient that our doctor was running late, by 2 patients, with each appointment from 45 minutes to 1 hour long. No courtesy call prior to my arrival to say "the doctor is running late". WOW!! Now i am rescheduled for another 1-1/2 months to see the doctor. In the meantime my issue has not been resolved. ENT CONSULTANTS are the only ENT in the area and network. I would recommend finding another ENT. read more

I have tried to get an appointment for over two years. I am still waiting for a reply. You have to leave a message with the scheduler. The teaching and follow up for a surgical procedure is lacking. When I had a follow-up appointment and my sutures were removed, I stated that I had some side effects since the surgery; nausea and dizziness. The M. A. told the Dr. on call and from the hallway (wasn't worth her time) told her that my symptoms were, "just a migraine". I know what migraine symptoms are. These were from the implant surgery. (B A H A). The M A then told me to call if I had any other problems. Why would I bother? Due to the lack of teaching, it became very infected. I was disappointed in the physicians. The audiologist (Nora) was fantastic and the MA was great as well. I would not recommend this office. read more

I caution anyone and everyone to steer clear of this practice. Their billing and office staff is highly incompetent. I was billed $7k for a procedure that their billing/office staff confirmed was covered by my insurance more than a year after the surgery took place. ENT Consultants handled the situation in an unprofessional manner with no empathy regarding the fact I was steam rolled with 7k worth the bills I never anticipated or budgeted for. Often times, my calls would not be answered, resulting in me spending countless hours trying to collect the details with my insurance company. While they did admit to the the fact they incorrectly confirmed the procedure was covered by my insurance, they persisted in sending to me collections. Steer clear of this place. I've never dealt with such a horrific situation as that which was caused by ENT Consultants. I wasted hours of my life trying to resolve a problem they created. There are many competent, trustworthy doctors out there. Don't go this route. read more

Andrea, just a little curious as to why you saw an ENT specialist in Grand Rapids if you live in the Chicago area? I've been a patient of Dr. Daniels since he came to Grand Rapids in 2000. You would be hard-pressed to find a better ear specialist than him. This comes from someone with some pretty serious ear problems that have been eradicated by Dr. Daniels. He has always been up front and courteous to me and my family. I give Dr. Daniels 5 stars, but 4/5 for the entire operation because you do often have to wait past, sometimes well past, your scheduled appointment time. In the doctor's defense, I believe he often has procedures in the morning before coming to the office for patient visits, which surgeries can run longer than expected for obvious reasons. Still, you do get the feeling the office and scheduling could be run more effectively. Some of the support staff hasn't been great at times over the years, although the nurses and audiologists have always been very solid. read more

Dr Daniels is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me!!!! He restored my hearing after years of not being able to hear. Very awesome doctor who is very skilled in what he does and very good at describing the procedure and takes the time to talk to you about it and answers any questions you may have. Cannot praise Dr Daniels enough!!! read more

ENT Consultants is a good practice, however, some of their products leave lots to be desired! I have the Phonak hearing aids from them, and have had numerous issues with the Phonaks. Recently got them back from "escalated care" and they appear to need factory work again. For the price, I would expect good product service, not the garbage I've received from the Phonaks. ENT has been great, their help has been superb, but the product, basically, sucks. read more

There's nothing I like about this place. I'm 27 female and have been wearing hearing aids for the past 12 years. I work full-time so I try to call either on my breaks or on my drive home from work. Every time I call the level of service I get is pretty sh*tty. The receptionist tells the office is on lunch break or, "you reached after hours line." "Well, can I leave a message." "This is the after hours/care line." According to their website, if you sign ASL you need a friend or family member to come with you to communicate on your behalf. From their website: ""We ask that you bring a friend or family member who can communicate on your behalf to your appointment. If there is no one available to assist you, please call our office to make arrangements." This is illegal, or at least borderline illegal. If you use ASL, a medical office MUST provide you with an interpreter, no hassle. A lot of private information is exchanged at a doctor's office and I certainly wouldn't want my friend to know this info. Medical interpreters sign a code of ethics and no private information is shared among the interpreter's friends/family. The doctor seems rushed, like he's seeing a few patients at a time. I never feel like I can ask questions. I wait more than I see the actual doctor. Although, the audiologist is really nice! As for as Greg's comment...I've wore Phonak for three years and I've never had a problem. Not sure what they did to his hearing aids, but sounds like you need to find a new hearing aid fitter. My favorite little secret for purchasing hearing aids: Costco. Paid $4,000 for top-of-the line Phonaks. Maintenance included. read more

I would not recommend this office to anyone! I am very sad and disappointed that Dr. DeGroot chose to be a part of this office. He is a great doctor, it is the office staff that is not. My son was seen in their office in January of 2012. Dr. DeGroot diagnosed him as needing tubes and tonsils and adenoids removed. His tonsils were so large they were affecting his eating, breathing, sleeping, and speech. I agreed to have the surgery done and headed up front to schedule. This is when I was told that my ENTIRE yearly deductible (I have Priority Health insurance), which is $3,700 would need to be paid before the surgery could be performed. I asked about payment options, there was none. Basically if you don't have the money up front, then no surgery. The very rude office lady then told me how their office and the surgery center lost millions of dollars last year and this was the "new standard" and I would find that every office was doing this now. We left without scheduling. The next week I sold enough personal belongings to get me about half way there. I called back to the office to see if that was enough and could they work with me. The answer was "no". I called around and found SEVERAL offices that do not work this way. This IS NOT the new standard. Unless you have this kind of extra money sitting around, don't waste your time by going to ENT consultants. In fact even if I DID have the money, I still wouldn't go there as they are rude and don't know how to treat patients. read more
