Poor girl had it on and off and couldn't find relief. After explaining her symptoms to Courtney Telfer and her assistant, my sister was left alone in the exam room. While they were standing just outside the door, she overheard the following conversation: Courtney Telfer: "This is all just weird and doesn't make sense." Assistant: "Yeah it is, IF she is even telling the truth." And then they both proceeded to LAUGH. Let that sink in. A patient comes in for help, explains real and ongoing pain, and is immediately dismissed and accused of possibly lying, within earshot. This is not just UNPROFESSIONAL, it is UNACCEPTABLE. No patient should ever be made to feel like they are being judged, dismissed, or accused of dishonesty when seeking medical care. Because of this, my sister will not be returning, and I fully support that decision. Dr. Curry, this is a direct reflection of your staff and your practice. Patients trust your office with their health, and conversations like this destroy that trust instantly. This needs to be addressed immediately to ensure it does not happen to someone else. This was my second experience with Courtney, and I am compelled to share it so that others know what to expect if they choose this practice. My appointment was meant to be a med check for a new medication. I had prepared a list of symptoms and real examples of the struggle I was experiencing. At the time, I felt she was being dismissive, but after much reflection, I think she genuinely did not know the answers to my questions. I think she expected the appointment to go one way and when I presented her with what I was experiencing, she did not know how to handle it. It felt dismissive and incredibly frustrating - she did not seem to care or believe what I was saying. When I expressed that I am experiencing debilitating symptoms and that I am not at high risk for abusing medication, she LAUGHED, and said: "Well, everyone is at risk." More importantly, she offered no medical advice or guidance. She did not ask a single follow-up question. At one point, I asked her if she just didn't believe that my diagnosis was real. She stared at me blankly. This experience left me feeling judged and frustrated, and left me with zero confidence in Courtney's clinical judgment or her ability to address my concerns appropriately. I brought my concerns to the practice manager, Clark, but was completely ignored. I documented my concerns and submitted a formal complaint to Curry Family Medicine on 5/6, then sent a follow-up message on 5/19. I never received a response. This practice prides itself on small-town vibes and providing personalized care. My experience tells a different story. Also worth noting, the previous PA, Theresa Tan, and her nurses were AMAZING. I have not met Dr. Curry, but I cannot fathom having my name on a practice and ignoring the concerns of my longtime patients. Curry Family Medicine has shown me that my medical concerns will not be taken seriously and that my concerns regarding their practitioners will be dismissed. This is not a safe space.

I am a very skeptical person, having…read moreseen many doctors that failed to diagnose my problem(s) to include the Veteran's Affairs (it was all in my head). I was very sick: heart and digestive problems. Dr. John tested me with state-of-the-art equipment that properly determined that my problem (panic attacks, anxiety, etc.) was caused by a slow parasympathetic system. My thyroid was the 'gist of my problems. It was causing the digestive and heart problems... and the panic/anxiety. Dr. John put me on a 12-visit nutritional program where he monitors what I eat, muscle tests me for what my body needs, and prescribes a catered nutritional supplementary whole-food program based on what he found. I have been visiting Dr. John for about 6 months. The result? My panic attacks and anxiety are gone. My heart problems are no more... I am able to work out again. My digestive problems are gone too. I will be a customer for life!!! My wife saw the changes in me. She is now going as well - for other reasons. It was determined that she is allergic/sensitive to gluten, as many people are. We have transitioned to gluten-free foods. Health is Wealth. Dr. John is not expensive, not when compared to the alternatives: emergency rooms, medical expenses, etc. I've been down that road... one trip to the emergency room set me back $5,000!!!
