I had a very disappointing experience with this Enterprise location. I rented a vehicle on Friday, July 17 at 9:17 a.m. and returned it on Tuesday, July 21 at 9:02 a.m., approximately 15 minutes before four full 24-hour periods had elapsed. Despite this, I was charged for five days. When I questioned the charge, Branch Manager Brennan insisted that because my rental was through a body shop rate while my personal vehicle was being repaired, those rentals were billed differently using a 24-hour format. Unsatisfied with that explanation, I contacted Enterprise Corporate, and I was informed that my rental had been billed incorrectly. Unfortunately, despite that confirmation, my credit card is still charged the incorrect amount. I have repeatedly requested that someone from Enterprise contact me to resolve the issue, but no one has returned my calls or followed up. At this point, I'm left chasing a correction for a mistake that Enterprise has already acknowledged. To make matters worse, the Audi I rented had a nail in the left tire, forcing me to stop multiple times during my trip to add air at my own expense just to continue driving safely. I reported the issue when I returned the vehicle, but there was no apology, reimbursement, or offer to make the situation right. I was also repeatedly told the Audi was a "brand-new" vehicle and that I was the first and last person to rent it. However, the vehicle had over 30,000 miles, which clearly did not match that description. What disappointed me most wasn't just the billing error--it was the complete lack of accountability and follow-through. Even after Enterprise acknowledged the mistake, I was left with the incorrect charge and no meaningful communication. Based on my experience, Brennan seemed far more interested in defending the incorrect charge than reviewing the facts or correcting it after the error was brought to his attention. Went to pick up a car at 8:00 AM after making an online reservation a week in advance. Got a call while in-route (7:52) saying that they wouldn't be there for an hour. No cars, office locked and no answer when I called. Almost missed my business trip because of this crappy office. No responce to my calls, no message about what happened. Will never use this office again and recommend everyone stay far away. read more

Last month I received excellent customer service. Everyone was nice and helpful. Called today to arrange another rental and the woman that answered the phone was by far the most unprofessional condescending person I have dealt with. She basically called me a liar without actually calling me one. It's unfortunate because just a week ago everyone was great. Not sure what her problem is, but she probably shouldn't be answering phones. Maybe washing cars? I don't know, but definitely not in a customer facing position. read more

My boyfriend needed a rental and when calling , guy speaking very bad English and I questioned who he was and what location he was talking to as my bf called the Clinton Nj enterprise. The person would not give me his name, or his location and stated for security reasons. Bogus! When we arrived at the Clinton enterprise. First man did not get a receipt. Second woman needing vehicle was flat out told no small vehicles at all and she would have to come back hours later. She needed a vehicle to attend a funeral. She questioned the phone call and they claimed having problems and she was told to dial number then asterisk like she would know this. She now has to get ride back to get rental later. Then my bf turn. I told them what happened with the phone call my bf made. She was going to write it in their system. Told me they were having glitches. Then after getting my bf his rental told us $600. 300 deposit and rest for week amount. I asked for copy and she gave us completely different paperwork and claimed they had different format on their end. I asked for that copy and did not get it. They told me (the gf ) to tone it down cos by that time I was irate with their bogus statements. Customers beware. You shouldn't have to jump hoops and get foreigners not saying who they are. Where was that reservation number coming from when we thought we were calling the Clinton location. And why were their stories different than what the customers were actually being told.. Misleading when signing up they want to sell you insurance which I never get the extra insurance but they mislead me to believe it was a one time charge and of course the sweet personality is a ploy so you don't read the small print so I thought I was getting a good deal until the insurance ended up costing more than the car rental! Complete BULLSHIT! I will NEVER let this happen again because I will never use them again and I have spent thousands in rentals with this dumbass company! The manager at this location I believe his name is Matt was incredible. I was stuck in a pretty bad situation and needed a car for a holiday weekend. He stayed up until the last minute of their business hours calling other branches (even out of his region) to find me a car. He even made accommodations for me to return it. Professional, thorough, and extremely sincere with my needs. I always ask questions about my bill before I sign anything and walk away from the counter. I've never had a problem with my rentals nor my bills. Just put accountability in your own hands and you'll never have a problem. I've even been given a free upgrade because the smaller, less expensive car was not available. I use the Clinton location all the time and will continue to do so. read more

Worst customer service ever! FIRST Cece screws up my invoice by charging me for an extra day. When a call her back a week later to correct it, she says she can't because I picked up the car a EWR, so I have to contact them to have the bill corrected. Somehow I end up talking to Enterprise corporate offices (after being transferred about 6 times). They said Cece can also send a email to the Enterprise EWR desk if I can't get through by phone to have them correct the bill. I make a few more attempts to get through to Enterprise EWR front desk the call Cece back in Clinton and tell her what Enterprise corporate offices told me. She nastily says, "Well, I send them an email to call you and you can explain it." So I ask, "Can't you just send them all the information so they can make the corrections since you're the one that closed out the invoice incorrectly?" Cece says, "I'll include my information so they can call me if they have any questions." Seriously? Why isn't she trying to contact Enterprise EWR front desk trying to straighten out her mess? Horrible place!!!! Go to Hertz across the street. My wife rented a car for a month when our car was in the body shop. This was her first time renting so the staff took full advantage. They sold her every insurance under the sun. My nanny (who was present at the time of the rental) was running an errand for us and was rear ended at a stop sign. No big deal since it was not her fault at all. The police came and wrote up the report. We opened a insurance claim with the other drivers insurance and did all the leg work for enterprise. We notified them of the accident and returned the car. At that time my wife returned the car as we got ours back. I noticed they charged her about $1500!!! I called and wanted some answers. The manager told me my wife wanted no responsibility at all and wanted the max insurance. Once he realized his staff took advantage of her, he credited my card $200. Thanks for that. Then the nightmare began. They started leaving messages on our phone that we are not covered for the accident since my nanny was driving. Clearly they were mistaken since my wife paid an arm and a leg for the max insurance so she would not have to worry!!! Oh, my bad. That was all BS. Then they sent us letters that we owed them $1700 for the damages. They also started harassing my nanny and sending her bills for $1700!!! Seriously?! Who operates like this? They are literally trying to get paid for damages by everyone involved in the accident. Clearly the other insurance company is paying the damages as their driver was at fault. I have called multiple times and the claims department won't even return a phone call. They must be busy harassing and shaking down other customers of theirs. It's pathetic and I will be taking my business elsewhere and letting everyone I know to steer clear of this terrible company. read more

I rent from this location three or four times per year. I rent cars for work all over the country. This branch has always been friendly, fair, and very helpful, even driving me home today when I could not be picked up by my wife. This guy who is complaining about the mistake that was made, or more than likely the misunderstanding he had with the insurance charge needs to 1. Learn how to express himself without using foul language. It shows a lack of education, a small vocabulary, and an inability to express himself. Potentially we are seeing an anger issue here too! 2. Ask politely to have his bill rectified. It is amazing how helpful people are when you treat them well, even when they make a mistake. If you truly spend thousands of dollars with them, they will want to retain your business. If you act like you write, they won't. 3. Just say no to the insurance. EVERY car rental company has taught there associates a great way to sell what your Platinum American Express and existing car insurance already provides. Oversees is a different story. I too have spent thousands of dollars with Enterprise and will continue to do so based on the service I get from this branch in particular.
