I had the worst experience here, Brian the Manager told me my id was fake because he couldn't scan my id with there old beat up iPads. Do not rent from them ever. They don't hold your car that you asked for and never have the correct vehicle there. Worst rental location I've dealt with. They provide you with worst service and treat you like your some kind of criminal because there computers don't work. I'm surprised by the low rating for this location! This was honestly the BEST experience I've ever had with renting a car. My boss needed a car for our road trip. One of the employees, Nick, was super helpful throughout the process and was actually calling my boss and keeping her updated on the inventory and when he was available to come in. My boss was raving by how helpful he was. Upon arriving, we were told that there was car available and we could take it the day of (we were going to get it the following day and we were just there to give my license to them) without the charge. The car was clean but the tank wasn't filled (which is fine, we weren't expecting getting a car a day early). The car itself was good for a road trip/going on a 4x4 beach. We had no issues here and Nick truly went out of his way to help us out. read more

We have been renting with Enterprise for years as my partner gets a business discount. We have rented from this tiny Fairfield location dozen of times. Always chaotic, always a wait, and always have to again ask for the type of car reserved. This visit, we arrived an hour after our scheduled pick up time ( as last visit we waited over an hour for car) and still a wait. They tried to give a smaller car than was reserved--no. Now they had to get the car from somewhere else. We did not like the car and had lots of problems with it. We ran into an unexpected situation and called the Budget line (Fairfield office not open on Sundays or this Monday holiday) to ask if it could be returned at a different location. We were told this was possible for an additional $80, however, due to our long standing business and inconvenience with this car, that fee would be waived. Super, easy, and great. That is until 3 days later when the Fairfield manager called and screamed that we did not get proper authorization to drop off the car elsewhere and she was going to bill $200 on the credit card???!! She was rude, nasty, and completely unprofessional. She hung up mid call and would not answer our calls. Never again will we rent from Enterprise. read more

I just got the shock of my life - didn't think that hustling like this could happen in the States. It started great. I rent a lot for business and expect to be there about an hour as average. Here I was out in 15 min, straight from collision shop. The guy brought the vehicle, we walked around, he read the disclosure. Mentioned that car insurance only had me for economy but by law there are supposed to cover comparable vehicle and they will take care of it (Progressive did approve via email days prior, so I was aware of that). AFTER I dropped the car, I was informed that I have to cover the balance because I was offered a choice between 2 vehicles and I chose the nicer one. Which is a straight lie. I was never offered another car. They go as far as "documenting my out of pocket charges and that it was all communicated to me".The car was sitting in the airport parking lot for over 2 weeks and I told them I only will use it actually for a couple of days. I would never pay for something extra to sit on the parking lot. I was left speechless. What a scam. read more

This location is super convenient, but don't let that fool you. Their customer service (or complete lack of it) is truly an oxymoron. I've now had 2 experiences with this branch and their manager Natasha. I spent $1500 with them earlier this month so I'm not someone who's writing just because I didn't get something for nothing. I spend $$. Everywhere.... they are rude, inconsiderate, and literally give you total brain damage just for asking for a discount. I'm going back to Hertz Gold where I'm treated well, made to feel like my business is important to them. Sorry for cheating on you Hertz.... Is it possible to give this place 0 stars and still review it? They should nickname this place "ruin a vacation." We got to enterprise around 530pm, after taking the train from New York City. Much like the other reviewer we found it to be much easier to rent out of Fairfield than out of New York (we were headed to Cape Cod). Despite many phone calls to Enterprise (yes, I am an uptight traveler), they never informed me that I cannot pay with a debit card. So upon arrival, I was supposed to show 2 bills to verify my address and show them I am up to date on my payments to establish a line of credit. WHO CARRIES BILLS ON THEM? Fine, whatever. So THEY suggest I use their computer to pull up the bills and print them there. Great, we're on our way! Oh wait..... their computer is from 1996 and the internet barely works. I pull up the required info on my phone, but since that can't print it was pointless. So basically I had the required info but because their computers were made in the 1800s I couldnt show them anything. Epic vacation fail. I understand they have rules and need to adhear to them. They were so unwilling to help me out and were so ridiculous about this entire situation that I got to my vacation destination a day late. The Enterprise employees just wanted to go home (they close at 6pm) so they did nothing to help out the situation. I rented a car from Hertz across the street with a debit card (100% hassle free) and had a great vacation. I will NEVER rent from an enterprise in the future. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - 1/4 tank of gas upon pickup....really? - Car Rental Near Me - Fairfield, Connecticut

I am disappointed with Enterprise. I've been a customer of theirs for the last 20 years and I had thought Enterprise was in a league of its own, with great customer service and a bubbly, helpful staff. Sadly, that is no more. Instead, I was met with an angry and combative attitude, leaving me with a bad aftertaste for what only started with an innocent inquiry into my bill. First of all, I was not pleased that I had to accept a car I did not want ("NO small/compact car available", and that is for 2~ 3 weeks in a row), then told to pay the difference (above and beyond what's covered by insurance) and finally, get berated for questioning the bill (why the 2 different charges on 2 separate credit card statements for ONE rental). This should all have been covered by insurance while my car was in repair next door. However, upon checkout, an Enterprise rep tells me that due to the recent change in law, the customer would now be responsible for taxes, "which would otherwise not have been the case a couple of months ago". (Apparently, not true.) OK. So, what's the other charge for? I called Enterprise phone no. listed on my credit card statement, whereby I was directed to call "John" from Accounting Dept., who was clearly not accustomed to talking with customers. He insisted that I had dropped off and rented another car, hence the two charges. (I did not.) He then said to call "Chad", who would be able to better explain. Chad was equally short and noticeably irritated, quickly shifted the blame to someone else from another dept., turning defiant and even rude. "Take it up with the insurance company". Well, I did and the insurance company seemed to be even more confused than I was. ("Nebulous" is the term she used to describe Chad's explanation.) Chad apparently told the insurance rep. to "have the customer call him", since the agreement was between Enterprise and the customer. And his parting words were, "its ALL in the contract, which customer signed". Electronically? The fine print on the one inch screen which nobody can read? That didn't particularly answer my original question but regardless, rather than waste everyone's time, he could've just admitted from the outset that it was simply a mistake on THEIR part, that would've just settled it. So, I ended up paying (out of pocket) for a car I couldn't drive, erroneously billed and was served with a nasty attitude. Ohhh, well. Whatever! read more

Abysmal customer service. I negotiated a rate with them, and returned the car on time. Then I checked my credit card statement and they billed me a random amount that was more than double the agreed upon rate. I called them about it and they said they'd credit my card...which they did for the wrong amount. I called again to get another credit and they said they'd credit me again...which they did for the wrong amount. Yes, again. I called yet again to get the right amount credited to my card, they said they would...and didn't. I'm literally on the phone with them again right now, and to her credit the girl I'm on the phone with seems nice and like she's willing to bypass the chain of command to help me. I will never, ever, ever, ever rent a car from Enterprise again. At least not this location. I've had other problems with other locations as well -- you MUST check your credit card statement because they will not charge you the right amount, no matter how many times you double and triple check with every person you talk to. The location in Woodside, Queens is a joke as well. Enterprise has motivated me to buy a car. read more

Wish I could give it zero stars. Arranged on the website to pick up a car on Saturday May 23rd, to return it Monday morning or even Sunday night. Monday is a holiday and they are closed. I was informed TODAY that I was being forced to pay for a third day because THEY are closed Monday. I made the reservation online and was not informed I needed to pay for a third day because they were closed. I even called the store the day after making my reservation to confirm that I could return the car Monday morning without incurring more than a 2 day rental charge. I was told no problem. Today, the day before I'm to pick up the car, I was called to confirm my reservation and told I was paying for a third day. NO. She immediately said she could reduce the daily rate by $10, but that's still forcing me to pay considerably more than I intended to pay. I asked them to reduce the rate further to bring me closer to my original plan. They refused. Both the assistant manager and the manager argued with me for what probably amounted to half an hour. Instead of satisfying a customer. I WILL NEVER, EVER patronize this business again. And I recommend no one else does, either. They are individually owned. They can make the rate anything they want. They simply refused. NEVER again. read more

Stay away. A very unprofressional office. Will never use Enterprise again. As a backdrop, our car had to go into the shop and we were provided a rental car out of the Fairfield, CT location. Upon returning it yesterday during the four point inspection they noticed a small scratch, smaller than a credit card, located low on the front bumper. They discovered a small crack and said we would be liable for the damages. We were then informed we would be charged $500 on our credit card and would get an estimate sometime late next week. Thank you and have a nice day. (AS of today, 1/29/16 we have not heard from them even though they said they would call us back. Even though my wife and I called 4 more times and were assured they would call back and as of today NOTHING!) However, both my wife and 20 year old daughter said when they returned the car the "scratch" was barely noticeable and did not expose any white. Only the keen eye of your employee caught it and proceeded to poke and prod it to what it looks like now. In speaking with Fairfield today they said no one has touched the car since we drove it in so that's the way it looked when we returned it. This is not true. It is a lie. This looks a hundred times worse and the crack is most likely larger than when we left. But it gets better. When we initially went to pick up the car in Fairfield the appropriate car wasn't available so they drove only my daughter to Bridgeport. On the way there, he pulled several illegal right on reds that my daughter mentioned later in the evening. But I digress...Once there, the attendant located the car within 15 minutes and did the walk around with my daughter positioned at the driver's side door the whole time. ( He should have made her follow him around the car) And since it was parked against a wall he was unable to view the backend, but, according to my daughter, he said there was no damage on the car and said sign here and she drove off.( 1- he should have pulled the car out and completed the inspection and 2-Since he didn't I guess we would have been liable as soon as we drove it off the lot if there was any) When my wife and I inspected the car that evening it was filthy on the outside, and inside there was trash and match books, and the car smelled like cigarette smoke. In retrospect we should have returned the car immediately due to its poor condition, but we needed wheels for my daughter to go to school the next day so we cleaned it out and opened the windows. Overall in my opinion Enterprise failed. 1. They were unprofessional and sloppy in conducting themselves with my daughter and performing their inspection process which is in part to protect the consumer. 2. They provided an inferior product and experience to me and my family due to the condition of the car 3. Clearly something happened from the time we dropped the car off to this morning as the "scratch/crack" somehow got much worse. In my opinion the "scratch and crack" could've been present for weeks or months since it was barely detectable due to its location and the fact that it was not showing any white against black paint when we returned it. However, after they started pushing and pulling on it, its appearance was much worse! Going forward we will make our rentals with anyone but Enterprise. read more

Enterprise is the best for renting a car - rather than renting in NYC, we took the train up to Fairfield and took advantage of the good old "Enterprise, we pick you up"... works like a charm! Had an amazing week of vacation in a fantastic car. I rent from this location about 4-5 times a year to travel down south. They are always willing to accomodate my requests for cars and they frequently let me look at the ones available to pick the one I want in the class I reserved. They have even switched with another location to get me a better pick-up when I needed it for a 2 week vacation because it was newer. Their cars are the best around to rent. Low mileage - like new. I found the employees at Enterprise to be friendly and efficient. My personal, parked car had been totaled in the middle of the night by a driver who had fallen asleep. Initially, I rented a car for one week. Since I had not found another car to buy, I had to "renew" the rental two more times before turning it in.
