It is a great pleasure to write a glowing review for the Enterprise facility located at 2705 W. Deyoung Street in Marion. I had an amazing experience there this past week (July 14-22). Kudos to Camille, Jason and the rest of the team. They were professional, efficient and courteous. Special thanks to Camille who single handedly saved my vacation! When I had difficulty with the initial car I rented, I explained the situation to her and she couldn't have been nicer! Not only did Camille work to resolve the problem, but she got me another car. Alright so let's get into this. I have only had one experience with this location and it started off on the wrong foot. What I mean by that is, I was in a bit of a mood because of whatever I had going on that day and I wasn't a very patient customer. I had a reservation for about 8:30am and when I arrived there was a gentleman sitting in the lobby. I assumed that since I had the appointment I would be the next one served but that was not the case. Instead of taking a breath and just waiting I got a little irritated. Even with my irritation, the employees remained poised and professional. I may have not been the easiest to deal with that morning but they handled it extremely well. Even though I assume they didn't really care for my 'tude or me personally for that matter, they never outwardly showed it which is a huge accomplishment. Being able to treat me well even though I'm not necessarily treating you the best is something that takes heart and they definitely got that. After all was said and done, I walked away with a cool lender while I waited for my car to be repaired. There were no issues with the car mechanically, however it did have a bit of a smell. The only was I can describe it is "like something died". You know what I mean. But once I let the car air out, it was fine for the most part. It wasn't something to really cause a fuss about. But I must say when mentioned, they apologized and even comped me for the gas I totally forgot to fill before returning it. That to me is a win in my book. I will definitely return to this location hopefully in a much better mood to treat these employees how' they treated me...excellently and respectfully. read more

This location's cars stink...bad. put us in one that smelt like the trash had been kept in it. Trunk leaked and was wet on the inside. Horrible customer service. My car repair shop booked me a rental for a Saturday pick up, when I arrived, we were told no such reservation existed. The guy behind the counter stated that companies tell us this all the time just to get our business. This made no sense at all!! My repair shop books all their reservations for all their dealerships here. The Ford Rep was very upset called and spoke to the manager and named the person he made the reservation with. I was told the manager from Enterprise was going to call and speak with me, however she never called. We were left without a car all weekend and had to get a ride to work! read more

I would give negative or zero stars if that was an option. Horrible excuse for customer service from the location (Marion, IL) and including corporate. Someone hit my sons (parked) car and it needs to be sent for repairs. The end of week prior to our reservation (rental to be covered by insurance due to aforementioned accident) - my husband calls both the Marion Enterprise location and the responsible parties insurance to make sure there would be no issue with renting to a 18 year old in this case. Both said it would be no problem. That was a lie. After his car is dropped off at the shop we are informed the policy had changed. It would be $25/day to rent the car to my son. My husband calls the responsible parties insurance and they advise this is not an issue and agreed to pay the additional charge. All is settled right? Wrong - the policy has changed yet again and now they won't rent to him at all. I'm very confused due to these constant policy changes so I called and inquired about the manager on duty. The person I spoke with (Asst. Manager Jake Freeman White) was the rudest person (in customer service) I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. The fact that someone in a leadership role would think it is acceptable to treat and talk to customers the way he does is astounding. No apologies for the outright lies we were told or being stranded there as a result. The lies didn't stop with the corporate customer service either because I was told multiple different things all depending on the person I spoke with. Do not waste your money or time here. read more

Probably the best enterprise I've been to. I was basically stuck for the weekend if I couldn't get a car. They went above and beyond to turn my weekend around. Southern is really hard to get around without a rental car. Big shoutout to J. He made what could've been a terrible weekend to a great one. My husband rented a car months ago and they sent us a confirmation email the day before we picked it up. He got there and they didn't have a car for us. The woman working there tried to push a pickup truck on him, which wouldn't work for us because of our luggage (plus we didn't want to pay extra for a gas guzzling vehicle). He sat around and waited for them to do an oil change on the only other vehicle that was there, which delayed our trip. The car they gave us was gross. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I returned a car in better shape then I rented in an more gas... an they stole my deposit

Rented a car from Friday night to Monday night. I returned the car on time, and everything seemed alright. A few days later, I was overcharged $20 for the rental. When I called and explained I was overcharged, the customer service rep told me "whatever," and accused me of returning the car late and putting the keys in the drop box, even though I returned the car on time, and handed the keys directly to an employee. I called Enterprise's corporate offices to complain about the horrible treatment I was given there. The employee who originally said "whatever," did call me to apologize, but then the manager of the place called me to find out the details of what happened. I was at work when he originally called, so I wasn't able to answer right then. When I got off work, I called the manager, only to get a voicemail. I'm still waiting for a return call. Bottom line- this place has extremely bad customer service, and a manager who obviously doesn't care enough to even return phone calls. I rented a lot of cars from other Enterprise locations in the past, and this is hands down the worst I've ever seen. read more

If only I could give a zero. The worst business I've ever associated with in my entire life. Started off they mixed up the push start keys. I live 45 miles away. So I couldn't leave where I was at until they brought my keys. I specifically tell them I have a 850 mile trip. 200 miles into my trip it needs an oil change. No place has any vehicles close to what I needed. I wasted half of my next day trying to figure out how I'm going to get back. Finally, they send me to get an oil change. It's in the worst part of Maryland and I have my 60 year old mother with me. There was no where to sit so we had to stand in the heat while the changed our oil. They wasted my day I had to move so I had to keep the vehicle an extra day. They tell me they would accommodate me. They ended up taking money from my deposit, so not only was I not accommodated they took more from me. I called corporate and they said I should see the money in my account in 1-3 business days. Never ever again will I come to this place. My girlfriend made a reservation here to get a car and it was told to her that she could come in at a certain time to get it. We get there at the time specified only to be told that no car was available and we would have to wait 2 hours for the next car. When asked why all my girlfriend received was a shoulder shrug in place of a explanation. This place is not the best place to rent from. They send out bad cars, one customer complained about having to switch out a car because the car was shaking so bad-- which is the same complaint I had when I rented my first car from here. In addition, the cars are always dirty and they never have gas in them. They continue to get business on Sunday's by default because they are the only rental place open. If you have a better option I would strongly suggest you choose that option. read more

DO NOT RENT from Enterprise in Marion, IL. I reserved a car for pick up at 6pm last Thursday and received an email confirming my reservation. At 5:30pm I arrived to rent the car and was told there were no cars available for me even though there were at least 6 vehicles sitting in the parking lot. I was told by the agent that they had called me and left a voice mail early that morning to let me know they could not honor my reservation. They DID NOT call me. I showed my call log and my voicemail log to the agent and he and another agent just smiled at me and said someone called you, we watched him call and leave you a voicemail. I asked them to read the number they dialed and they definitely had the correct phone number. However, they never called and lied to my face saying they left me a message. I asked them why I would have shown up to pick up a car if they had really left me a message saying no cars were available and they just smiled. I have never had such a horrible experience and my plans to travel to visit my brother and his family were ruined because the only other car rental agency in town was closed by the time I left Enterprise. I was there 30 minutes before close, they had cars available, but would not rent me one. They were kind enough to show me a 2 page print out of all the lucky people who would be picking up those cars the next day as if that should make me feel better. What a joke. Thank you Enterprise for ruining my weekend. I repeat, DO NOT RENT from Enterprise in Marion. I can't believe I'm forced to give them 1 star in order to submit the review. Should be zero! read more

Have rented cars for over 30 years and this location was the worst experience every. Employee did not care about my issue and did not want to deal with helping a customer. Never again will use this location. If no other choice available I would rather hitchhike. Next time I am anywhere will use choices other than Enterprise. Enterprise in Marion, IL left us high and dry after canceling our reservations because they overbooked their 15 passenger van. We booked the van in mid to late April for an event we planned for the end of June. It wasn't until June 10th that they called to say sorry they overbooked the van and there was nothing they could do for us. REALLY!!!! I had read the reviews before calling Enterprise and it was truly our last option but we had optimism that most of those reviews were from big city people and a smaller town of Marion would be better, GUESS WHAT we were way wrong and now we're screwed. read more

I rented a vehicle with Enterprise starting December 9, 2015. When I arrived they did not have an economy vehicle available. They finally agreed to give me a larger size at the economy price. When I got in the vehicle the low tire light was on and the gas tank was almost on empty. They added air to the tire and added a quarter tank of gas. I drove the vehicle almost 500 miles that day. The next morning when I went to leave the hotel, the tire was flat. I switched out the vehicle for another. This time it was a ford focus. I drove that vehicle for a day before switching out again due to transmission issues. I returned the third vehicle on December 16, 2015 at the pickup location. To my horror, my personal vehicle (which was parked in their lot) was backed into while I was gone. There was a large dent in the side. So not only did I get to pay for poor poor vehicle service by Enterprise I get to pay to fix my vehicle which will never be in the same condition. Shame on you Enterprise. read more
