Our guide did an amazing job prepping us and ensuring we were able to navigate traffic together. Montréal is big, the tour gives you a chance to see a lot of the popular atttractions and neighborhoods that you may not visit otherwords. I think the price is totally fair considering it's a private tour and you can essentially request your own custom itinerary or let them take you around!

Our last hour was only $5. Pro tip: ditch Waze and go with Google maps, Waze sent us through a speed tunnel, and it was fairly scary.

There were 3 agents working for both avis and budget customers. The line had at least 25 customers deep the whole time I was there. Over an hour to get to agent only to find that the cars were not cleaned yet and would take another 30 minutes. Horrible way to start your trip. Enterprise, Alamo and thrifty line were much shorter. This is as much a review on the accuracy of priceline as well.

First day, we were told to have lunch at 10:30, with 40 min break, and while you're supposed also to visit a church. You're consistently rushed, yet we manage to be late everywere. How, I don't know. But the worst thing imo is that the guide / driver made a bad judgement that resulted in us waiting 3 hours and a half for them to go pick passengers while we were sitting on a parking lot. The guide could have decided that we go pick them up as a group, for example: we would have been sitting in a bus and have access to our stuff. But no, he left us in Baie Ste-Catherine, sent the bus to Tadoussac (which requires to take a ferry boat, so it's not like it's just a drive). Then the guide kept yelling at us "It's not my fault!" and be agressive to clients, including clients who were just trying to understand what was going on. We arrived at our hotel at 11:30 PM. The guide managed to get food for us (including cold nuggets and burnt pizza), and so the company considers it to be a fair compensation for 3 hours and a half on a parking lot. Obviously, we couldn't visit the island that was part of the itinerary. But according to Concord Tour, it's okay, because their itinerary only advertises that you will reach the island not that you can visit it. At no point the company, the guide or the driver apologized or took responsibility for their bad planning / decision-making.

I was planning on surprising my wife with a nice romantic dinner. She had an accident a few years ago and has lasting daily symptoms from her brain injury and loud restaurants are very difficult for her. Noise cancelling headphones help her, but it just extends the period of time before she is exhausted by a little bit. When I found these dome experiences, it was perfect, we could go out to eat without the background noise in an amazing setting! Arrived on Saturday and they could not find our reservations, I had downloaded the tickets from TripAdvisor. Initially, he tried to tell me it was for the boat restaurant, but the tickets clearly said dome experience. He called the owner and after a bit, the owner told him we cancelled. We did not cancel, nor does TripAdvisor allow any cancellations of this particular experience. I was extremely disappointed, but what we saw while we were there waiting softened the blow a bit. Upon getting back to our hotel later, I logged into my credit card account, and did indeed see a refund for the tour 4 days after we booked, but we never received any email notification on that, and had no idea. Assuming they aren't synced up properly, and possibly overbooked between their website and the 3rd party site. Now back to what we saw while there... When we arrived, we were slightly early, so we boarded the boat, and went downstairs to use the restroom, which is the main dining area. There was a large rack that held plates of food (over a dozen) in the main hallway, all uncovered, and less than 5' from the Men's room door. While in the restroom, there was a small home type soap dispenser that was completely empty, and upon my wife completing her visit to the ladies room, she mentioned the same thing for the women's room. Got a very bad vibe of the cleanliness of the entire operation, and in reading reviews for the boat experience (which is the same food as the dome), many review complained about poor tasting food, hair in food, etc. Certainly, if they had plates of food yet to be served out in the full open near the men's room, I can only imagine what we're not seeing behind the scenes. Ended up walking back to Old Town and going to the Keg steakhouse. My wife didn't last long there, and it was not the experience we wanted, but the food was excellent. I'm hoping that the place gets a visit from health inspectors, as the issue that we saw alone had to be a code violation and nobody bothering with soap in the bathrooms, which were the only bathrooms there, so the employees use them too. If you do end up going, I imagine the domes are incredible, just maybe bring your own food! (Kidding of course, they would not allow)

The pacing of the tour was perfect, not too slow, not too strenuous. It is obvious that JF is deeply knowledgable about urbanism, bicycle culture, and the way our built environment impacts our experiences of life. The details he pointed out and the places he brought us are easily overlooked, but super interesting. It is rare to find someone who takes so little for granted in their home environment. This tour was not just a lesson about history and some neighborhoods of Montréal, but about how to observe the world around us. I would give six stars if possible. It did not hurt that the weather was perfect. If it had rained, probably only five stars. It was a fantastic three hours and a highlight of our visit to MTL.
