I am not a frequent car renter. Made Reservation by phone (first time) on 9/15 (AM) for pickup in Ocean NJ on Saturday, 9/16. After indicating that I would be using a debit card, the Representative said nothing about needing a bill with name and address, or copy of my insurance card. In fact I had walked to the office because I had loaned my car to someone who had my insurance card in that vehicle. This was all ver disturbing considering that I reviewed the email link and there was no mention of the need for a copy of a bill. The gentleman who processed my request in person, Michael, was very inconsiderate and dismissive of the fact that the necessary information was not conveyed over the phone. While standing there trying to access my insurance card online (which I had never done), I heard several othe customers saying they needed to get their insurance card. Seems like the policies and expectations upon arrival should be made much more clear to customers. Also perhaps the vehicles that are reserved are actually ready doe pickup at the scheduled time rather than have customers sit while vehicle is vacuumed. I was even asked if I wanted the car washed since it was white and looked dirty, which I would have thought would have been taken care of prior to my reserved time. After all we're the priority! Secured an economy car for a one-day rental, as my car was in the shop. The rental was confirmed on-line. Wouldnt you know it, when I got to Enterprise I was told there "was a mix-up" and the economy car wasnt available, but there was a nice SUV that they had secured for me - of course it was more expensive. Maybe there WAS a "mix-up". I know if it was my business i would've given the car available at the price of the economy car that I confirmed on-line. A mistake on the business's part should not result in a higher price on my part. They weren't rude or anything, but it was a bit of an insult to my intelligence. My insurance company booked a rental thru enterprise in Wall. I was on the phone for 45+ mins trying to get thru after being disconnected several times. Finally talked to the rep there. They proceeded to run me in circles for 10 mins giving me information on all the other enterprise facilities. I started this process at 430 - it was now 5:26. They all close at 5:30 I called Ocean EP and spoke with Chris - they said come on over, WE WILL STAY OPEN FOR YOU!! Absolute amazing!! The whole team from the gentleman who drove me home when the rental was thru, the check in/out process - every single team member was outstanding and went above and beyond with ALL the customers there. I rented a car last Thursday because my husband had to use our car and I had an important Doctor Appointment that I didn't want to miss. My reservation was confirmed and I was picking the car up at 8:00. I get a call at 7:45 that they don't have a car for me and they don't know when they will, could I switch my reservation to the next day? I previously rented a car there and when I showed up the only available vehicle was a huge Chevy Silverado truck. Cost more for gas and It didnt even have running boards so it was extremely difficult to get in and out of. Customer service said they sent my info up to the regional office to research, but, I have not heard from anyone. I definitely won't be back. read more

They helped me get one that fit in my garage, set up my Bluetooth. And walk through all of the different things that I need to know. They are kind and thoughtful and professional. Honestly I don't understand how this branch is getting 5 star reviews. I've made 2 reservations now and both times they've given away my car. The first time the reservation was at 8am, when we got there at 8:20am they said they called to tell us they didn't have a car, that call was at 8:14am. Today Allison at the counter said she tried calling yesterday to confirm but no one answered, however we did confirm when we were sent a text (Allison said that wasn't a real confirmation). There is something flawed in there system, they are double booking and I don't understand why. When ever I've made reservations with any other branch or company they have kept my reservation. This has been the only place where I've had this problem. We will no longer use them and I suggest you try a different location if the rental is important. read more

This location and its people are the absolute worst. I had the same experience as others have posted here: arrived for my reservation and was told they "gave my car to someone else." If this is true, then it's appalling customer service. (I wasn't late; they never called me.) I actually think they *never* had my car available (full-size SUV), and this is their well-worn excuse to customers. Either way, it's infuriating and I'll never miss a chance to badmouth this company for the rest of my days. Thanks for thoroughly derailing my family's vacation plans, Enterprise! I share same experience they gave away my reservation that I had for 8:00am. I was there on time and they claim they had no cars but I received a confirmation and a follow up notification early that morning that my car was ready for pick up. Staff rude especially the front desk girl who said she was the branch manager. I travel regularly for work and never experienced such an unprofessional staff and facility. read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. Went to pick up a car after making an appointment and being assured they'd have a car for me. They didn't - was told I'd need to wait there for someone to return a car. Told them I'd come back in the morning - when I did, I called prior to going over there and asked them - TWICE - to confirm they have a car ready for me. They said yes. I got there - no car and was told YET AGAIN I'd have to wait there for someone to return a car. I ended up leaving. Completely ridiculous. read more

Never rent from enterprise they are trying to rip me off saying that the pre-existing paint damage on the car I returned is my responsibility ... I have had to secure an attorney to resolve the situation ... If you are not going to heed my advice at least do yourself a favor and take before and after photos with your phone... Especially if you are dropping it off during closed hours!! read more

I am and have been a frequent renter of all locations within this MULTI-BILLIONAIRE DOLLAR INTERNATIONAL, most definitely not small/private CORPORATION, and I am forced to assume that you are a novice to the rental industry; or how a big-time corporation operates at all. ERAC (pertaining to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, LLC.) purchases vehicles from several dealerships/auctions, etc. Much like you are probably paying extra for OPTIONAL features, like NAVIGATION, so is ERAC, so things like that are not a guarantee. Also, why would you place YOUR insurance information in a RENTAL, when the employees never even mention to you to do that in the first place?! Lastly, as a grown woman, you should probably learn how to take accountability for your actions, like YOUR forgetfulness. I read your two other reviews or shall I refer to them as your "whines." Chipriani's is another famous, well-known, highly-successful business and they do not owe you a "forewarning" of how the ambiance in their restaurant will translate to you! If there was a lower rating than one star I would use it. I rented a car, it had no navi I took it anyway and they said they would switch it out-they did-I left my user's manual with my insurance card and registration in the first car by mistake-contacted them right away-they said they would check into it "when they had time" and call back. No return call-called them-still didn't have time to check too busy. They would call me back-no return call. This was Friday-no call over the weekend. Called Monday-I was told they would look into it and call back-no return phone call. Called today to speak to corporate-there is no corporate! Beware when you deal with a small company like this where they are all privately owned-you have no recourse when there's a problem. I'm told now that it was my fault that I left these things in there, that they were being nice by switching out the car in the first place so they will check with the long term renter and get back to me, but really it is not their responsibility. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY LIFE!!! Now I am going to get my car from the collision place and I will have to drive it around without the manual and the car has only 3K miles on it, and w/o my insurance and registration because they were TOO BUSY!!!! I was involved in a not at fault accident and had to bring my vehicle to the shop. I was brought to enterprise on 07/17/2018 to pick up a rental when the gentlemen by the name of Mile and had been asked if I wanted to get any coverages. I specifically explained to him that I was not paying for anything out of pocket, he insisted on me giving him a credit card to hold a deposit of $250.00 that was NOT going to be charged - just for security purposes. I returned 07/31/2018 to drop off the vehicle and saw that my card was charged $250.00 and asked why, I was told because I selected the Damage Waiver coverage after SPECIFICALLY telling Mile that I was not going to purchase anything! I have full coverage on my insurance so why would their be a need to purchase more?! After going back and forth and even having my insurance company contact them, they still refused to refund me! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Please do NOT go to Enterprise!!! read more
