I wanted to take a moment to recognize Anthony at Enterprise, in Roanoke Rapids. This is my second time interacting with him, and both experiences have been exceptional. The first time I met him, he had just started with the company. He personally called me to let me know I needed to come back to the office so my rental contract could be rewritten. Even then, he was patient, courteous, and professional. Today truly confirmed what an asset he is to your team. He was the only employee working while the office was extremely busy. There were customers waiting to rent vehicles, others returning cars, and a few understandably frustrated customers who required extra attention. Through it all, Anthony remained calm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. He acknowledged every person who walked through the door, communicated clearly about wait times, and treated everyone with kindness and respect. Even when faced with complaints, he responded with patience, grace, and genuine professionalism. In today's world, it's easy to hear complaints, but it's just as important to recognize excellence. Anthony is the kind of employee who represents Enterprise well. His work ethic, composure under pressure, and outstanding customer service did not go unnoticed. I had a messy situation with a rental that lasted approximately 6 weeks. There were no issues with the car, it was a situation on my end. I dealt with manager Patrick of the Roanoke Rapids, NC location. Patrick was professional, patient, understanding and kind. He worked with me and was very accommodating. When the car needed to be switched for another one, that was no problem. When I didn't agree with an additional day's charge, he got approval to remove the charge. My experience with Enterprise Rental Car in Rocky Mt. NC , isn't good. I was disrespected by management in the years between 2017 or 2018. Based on the manager there at the time . She was very rude and unprofessional. She insisted that I as not welcome at her store in Rocky Mount, NC , based on her decision which wasn't made clear to me she told me me that I could rent at another location in Roanoke, Rapids, North Carolina. Unfortunately that distance is 45 minutes from where I live vs 20 minutes from Rocky Mt .Thank you. read more

I'm not sure if the previous reviews were at the same location but I had a completely different experience. I would have given this location negative stars if available. I made the booking online where it stated that they had availability. I received a phone call the next morning stating they had no vehicles available until the next day. They also stated that they couldn't help with any other locations that would have availability. What's the point of having this branch and paying for employees here. This has completely changed my views of this company. read more

We needed a rental after our motor home broke down in Gaston. We reserved a pickup truck online. When we got there a bit late the next day the pick up was rented because they could not hold it for us. Duncan Lewis worked some magic and got us an upgrade from that for the same price! While driving our Enterprise Rental Car on I95 North through Roanoke Rapids, the front tire came off the car. We thankfully skidded (on 3 wheels) into the shoulder. No one was hurt and no other vehicles were involved. Unfortunately, skidding on the bare tire mount for 100 yards as we slowed to a stop left the rental car damaged. Calls to Roadside assistance were futile. They would not send a tow truck since we were on the highway. They told me I had to have it towed off the interstate and then call them back. I choose instead to have it towed to this location. The manager was rude and completely unhelpful. When I called ahead she told me we have no cars, don't bring it here, and then hung up on me. When we did have it towed to her location, she was dismissive, unprofessional and outright rude. The tow driver had to take the car and us to another location 30 minutes south. The team at that location (Rocky Mount) were very professional and helpful. The manager at this location, however, is the reason I will never rent from Enterprise again. Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Trying to get help with my rental that lost a tire while driving on I95...Manager was not helpful and sent us 30 miles south - Car Rental Near Me - Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

Was coming home from vacation, only to have my transmission over heat an hour and a half away from being home. I pulled off at the closest exit that I could, which was near Roanoke Rapids Enterprise. So I thought awesome I can rent a car, switch my bags, and call AAA to have my car towed to the dealership and make it home. Easy peasy right... WRONG. I called the main phone line for Enterprise and someone at customer service helped me make a reservation then transferred me to the location that I was to pick my car up. Knowing fully that since I was paying with debit out of state that I needed Valid verification of my income and or bills that I had in my name, which I was able to obtain through the power of the almighty internet. Only to be dismissed by a rude and hateful garbage employe, saying that what I had been told was false and could not rent the car due to "their own personal policy". She more or less didn't give a shit about my problem tried to hurry herself off of the phone, and when I asked for the direct stores number so that i could try and figure out how to free up my credit card and call her back. She would only give me the customer service number and not to there store. I immediately called and canceled my reservation with no hesitation. Just forget about this location and the losers that work there. I have been a customer of Enterprise for years now and have good standing with them and have never dealt with such trash. So hopefully they will send someone from corporate down and straighten out the crappy service or they may as well shut them down for all the 1 star reviews. read more

Words cannot describe my experience at the Roanoke Rapids Enterprise location, but I will try. My car broke down on our way to Hilton Head from DC. We made an emergency stop in Roanoke Rapids due to the presence of a Honda dealership and an Enterprise. I booked a reservation for 10:00 am the next morning. I ran, on foot, a couple of miles in 90 degree heat to the Enterprise. It was 8:30 am when I arrived. I waited in line for 15 minutes at which time I was the last customer there. It was me and 3 employees. I asked if I could get the car at 8:30 am as it took me less time to cover the miles on foot. The Manager looked at me and said, "Come back at 10:00 am". That was it. I told her my situation, covered in sweat and exhausted, and she said once again, "Come back at 10:00 am". Being the ONLY place in town that had cars, I walked out intending to return at 10:00 am. I ran back to our hotel and found at my wife had been in touch with the Honda Dealership. Phil, at the Dealer, was incredible. Got my car fixed and was out of Roanoke Rapids in an hour. This is my first Yelp review. I've had horrible service in many places, but this was truly unreal. I hope no one ever has to rely on this place to get their family out of a bind, as we almost had to. read more

This place should be closed permanently. Had a car reservation for weeks. Only to get there and find out the car cannot be rented because of a recall. The employees stated safety issue and the "fear of losing their jobs". I'm all for "safety" but how about customer service?? You knew this car was in your rental fleet and you had to have known this car was going to be shut down once it came back from the previous rental. There was no plan B for us. Enterprise apparently has no regard for their customers and if they do, they certainly don't convey those concerns to their employees. This place could care less if you are taken care of. No surprise as most of the businesses in town are staffed with people who hate their jobs. This place is no different. read more

Having car trouble in Roanoke Rapids. I call Enterprise and reserve a economy rental.With verification number in hand, I arrive at Enterprise Roanoke Rapids NC. I was informed they have NO economy vehicles. All the have is SUV's and Luxury vehicles. Nearly twice the amount quoted.(Bait/switch). I asked about the economy ford. I was told it needed a oil change, so they can't rent it. Hope I never have to use them again. read more

It's no use to reserve a vehicle at this location!!!!! The last 3 times I have reserved a vehicle from the location in Roanoke Rapids, NC they didn't have the or a vehicle in stock. This last time on 10/5/22 they called me less than 30 mins before I was scheduled to pick up the car and told me they don't have any vehicles in stock and advised me I should stop at a different location on my 12-hour trip to pick up a car. So where do they expect me to leave my car this whole time? If they would have called me earlier in the day I could have planned for something different. But when you get that call nearly before closing time you don't have many options. I would recommend you make plans to reserve a vehicle elsewhere if you are really depending on having that vehicle. 1 of the 3 times when they told me they didn't have a vehicle, someone walks in after me while I'm there and get a vehicle even though I have a reservation. I went online. Checked reviews and thought, ok good reviews. Completed my reservation AND RECEIVED my CONFIRMATION number. Having a confirmation number; I thought it safe to call my client and arrange for our meeting. I did so. Half an hour later I get a call from them telling me " they have no cars!" I said, " I have a confirmation number?" She said, " oh I'll have to let the RESERVATIONS dept. know. I asked "what am I supposed to do now?" she again repeated "we have no cars on our lot." I wouldn't mind if I had not taken the responsibility to get this done and then call my client. but I purposely made sure that what I thought was set in stone via confirmation was just that. WRONG! I contacted enterprise via chat. I explained my situation. I was asked for my phone number and told that it would be escalated to the corporate office. Well, that does me no good I still don't have a car. I let them know that I know how to check into using a transportation service that wants and absurd price of $168! This is not how you run a business communication is your first line customer representation and it needs to be done precisely this is unacceptable! read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would! I rented cars all over the Southeast weekly prior to Covid-19 as I travel for my company. I made a reservation for a starts/full size 2 weeks prior to picking up. When we arrived, the front door was locked I thought it was interesting as there was no signage that this was the protocol. When the attendant "helped" me, I asked about a free upgrade coupon that was sent to me. "MEGAN" quickly told me that was only for people renting a compact car. I then asked about how much the upgrade would be if I rented a full sized SUV. Megan quoted me 400 more dollars. At that point my partner stated that he didn't think an Altima was standard, which Megan quickly snapped back with, "yes-Thanks" I was shocked but excited for our upcoming vacation so I didn't address her at that point. We checked out the vehicle. I. All my experiences the attendant checks the vehicle with the customer, not Megan! She unlocked it but didn't hand me the keys. She stated at the door of the establishment. The car was totally smoke filled and there was sticky stuff on the back seat. Again, Enterrise is advertising disinfected cars. When I told Megan, she offered a minivan, with no apology for my inconvenience. I told her that I didn't want to drive a minivan on vacation. Megan said, "Ok, bye!!" And closed/locked the door. At the same time my partner expressed his dissatisfaction with this location and that it has gone downhill. I intend to make a formal complaint. read more

We had a terrible experience at this location. Our rental started acting up (shaking) after we go on the road from a rest stop. This vehicle has only 10k when we picked it up so it's fairly new. Thank goodness we were 10mins from this location, thinking we could switch it out. We told them about our situation and they said they didn't have anything because of the upcoming holiday weekend. They gave us two numbers to call to see if the other locations had anything available. So I had to call myself while they sat there joking around with each other. They saw I was on the phone waiting to talk to a representative. We were there 30-45min and they never asked if they could help further. We finally asked if they had a service center and they said no but told us they used Firestone. They had that information and didn't tell us? There were 5 people there including the manager and they failed to help us find a solution. I know I will never come to this location ever again. When We went to another location to help we told them the situation and apparently the Roanoke Rapids NC location has a bad reputation for terrible customer service. Pray you never get stuck in this location. We ended up staying overnight because all locations in the area were closing soon. What a wasted expense. read more
