The worst experience I've ever had when renting a car. On friday late afternoon I reserved a car for saturday 9am to be returned on Monday at 5pm. On Saturday morning I called the Santa Maria, ca location to let them know I was running about 8-10 mins late. They took my info and informed me that they did NOT have a car for me!! They told me I was 15th on the waiting list for a car for that day to rent!!?? I had the reservation and the confirmation. Didnt matter to them, they had A WAITING LIST!! But why then was I told i was confirmed. When I asked I was laughed at and told that I should have reserved it sooner!!!!!!! NEVER WILL I RENT FROM ENTERPRISE AGAIN. read more

"Reserved" elite full size. Was told "we don't even get those vehicles here". Offered a choice between a dirty compact or a dirty midsize SUV. None of the vehicles they did have... were ready. So I waited 20 minutes for it be "ready". Upon starting the car it had low fuel. I rented a car to travel out of town to attend a wedding. On my way to get back to my Airbnb to get ready for the wedding, a light comes on in the car. I called roadside to get assistance and they sent me to a Firestone with complete car care. The employees said it was not an issue with the tires, but the car said it needed oil. They added oil and assured me that it was fine and I should be able to travel back home with it. Gave me his card for any issues. I had a bad feeling about it because a car shouldn't need oil if it's maintained or something isn't wrong with it so I ended up making other arraignments to get to and from the wedding, paying for uber/lyft rides. The next day I was getting ready to check out of my Airbnb when my husband told me that the car rental had leaked oil on their driveway. At that point I was very stressed out because it was nearly time for check out and I needed to drive back home. Enterprise roadside asked me to drive the car to get serviced which I absolutely did not have time for. Especially because I had already tried that and the issue wasn't even found. I also didn't feel comfortable driving a car that had been leaking oil. The roadside service person on the phone said the tow would come and we didn't have to wait for it. They specifically told us to take the key to enterprise. When I got a ride to the nearest location to me to get another car, I was told they would not give me another car until the key was given to the tower. They literally made me drive back to drop it off. Thankfully I had someone that was able to take me because if I was alone and had paid for a ride to enterprise. I was given another car and made it back home, but my nightmare was not over. I specifically chose this location so that I can drop off after hours. I had my parents follow me to enterprise so that I can drop off the car and they could take me back home, but the entry way was blocked off completely. All of the parking spaces and even the driving space were completely packed with cars. I had to notify my work that I had to go back on Monday morning and miss work in order to return the car. When I arrived, they were still working on making room in the parking lot and there were so many people waiting for assistance. While I spoke to the assistant manager and received a discount due to my experience, I still can't believe I had to pay for this nightmare. I feel like I needed to share my experience because it's shocking to be given a car that I should have never been given with issues that I had to pay for. I unfortunately have another reservation in a two days that I don't have any confidence in, but I don't have enough time to make other plans. read more

I had a couple of unfortunate extra charges during my reservation due to system/communication errors that ultimately left me stranded 7 hours from home with close to $1,000 in funds tied up waiting on a return process. The call center was indicating the local branch to be at fault and I spoke with the manager, Matt, at the return. He was also confused since he didnt get any notifications that I was wanting to be contacted. He was already aware of the other issues since he also helped me during the pick up. My review is directed to the software that caused an extra charge, as well as the call center not contacting the local branch as I was advised of, and them placing blame on the local branch. Matt was very understanding and professional and I would give the review 5 stars if it was based on his interaction alone. The other staff was very friendly as well. He did offer a credit towards a future rental since this was my first time renting with them which I appreciated, however, I declined since I couldnt be sure it wouldn't happen again if it happened once. They met us at the collision repair facility with a car to pick us up...enroute we said we liked that car...a Jeep Compas...he said great...let me get it washed cans it's yours to rent. I was here at 5:00 for a car I had reserved online. It was a little busy so I waited 20 minutes in line. After it died down, with no one in line, I go to the counter and the girl behind it tells me she is going to help another person who was sitting because they were there before me. There isn't a number system or a name calling list and the person wasn't standing in line. Anyone standing in line in front of the counter will assume they are next, but this girl behind the desk doesn't even acknowledge me until I'm standing in front of her then rudely tells me she is going to help the person sitting. If that person is next why don't you tell me? Instead of barking at me to move. The person she was helping only spoke Spanish so she had to get another employee to translate. That's fine, but when a third employee came to help me, she made him stop and insisted there were other people before me when clearly I was the only one standing in the line. And the people who were sitting, came in after me and confirmed that I was in fact, next. When she heard that, she did not apologize to me and refused to look in my direction. I understand that its busy, but she needed to gauge the room and keep track of who is next in line and acknowledge them politely, instead if being ill-mannered, disrespectful, and unable to manage a line. She could have let the Spanish speaking employee handle those customers and helped me, but her lack of customer service and thinking must have prevented her from doing so. To be a no sabo girl, very rude, and poorly dressed without the decency to fix your hair at a job where you interact with people must be all the reasons you ended up being the way you are today. read more

I called online to rent a vehicle with enterprise on Saturday, November kind of a last-minute thing for me so they and reserved a vehicle for me but when I went into the they had probably six people before me they didn't needed to thinking that I had reservations I thought maybe I would get called right away but I had to wait so I stayed there waiting for my rental at least I'd say 30 minutes only renting my vehicle for one day I gave a credit card which they excepted the type of that they could that credit card but when I got out to rent my vehicle with the that gave me the instructions are the contract which I didn't get a copy of that contract at all in my email and I signed my name and my initials or whatever I have to do he asked for a debit card which I thought I already gave my I know but we would we would need to accept a debit card instead so I thought well all right so they held $300 back at that time as a deposit they took it out right away and they charge me for one day for the $53 so I took the vehicle back on the keys in the Dropbox and Nena early it was probably MID morning and as of today being November 12 I'm still waiting for my deposit I don't think that's right to hold onto my money the deposit of $300 since Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday and I'm not supposed to get it till Thursday that's like five days not happy about that at all.! I called the of what I rented and they told me oh yes takes 2 to 3 business days to get my deposit back and then she says but if it was credit card you'd get it day well they didn't take my credit card and they didn't tell me that they didn't accept my credit card they said they excepted it so I'm not too happy with the Business at all. read more

I made a reservation for a full size SUV and when I arrived the clerk insisted on multiple telephone numbers. A total data mining scam. It didn't matter that I had the proper ID, credit card and insurance. The clerk wanted the data mining. I ended up canceling the rental and I went next door to Budget. I was out the door quickly with a full size SUV at half the cost and without the data mining. Enterprise lost and easy rental to the competition and a customer who will not back. read more

His name is Chris Garnieka, a not so humble , uneducated and quite rude young man. My wife and I have rented several times through his company ( not really his company id imagine as he shared with me ) and never had any issues other than getting caught in the middle of some inner office drama between two locations. This guy takes the cake, dealing with him clinically lowered my IQ. If you are looking to rent a car, a clean non smoking car without brain damage id advise you to go somewhere else, anywhere else actually, id recommend hitch hiking or city bus rather than deal with this dim witted future of american. Worst experience in my life. My 81 yr old friend who was involved in a hit & run in Lompoc & needed a car. Her insurance set her up with this place. Lompoc didn't have a car so they set her up at Santa Maria. So I drove her there & Cody was their sales rep. He would not provide her a smaller economy car as requested, & gave her a large Nissan that was filthy with dirt & bird droppings & the tires looked low. Cody refused to clean it & check the tires & SLAMMED the door in anger. He drove off. When I complained to the manager he threatened to cancel her order due to our complaints. My friend begged him not to, and he eventually went back to clean the car himself. Cody never came back. An extremely stressful experience of ELDER ABUSE at this place. I waited almost a year to write this review. Just because I didn't want to just impulse and write a bad review out of anger. However now that time has passed, and that I've had a lot of time to think; it's finally time. The Enterprise of Santa Maria was great in the past. However with the General Manager who was extremely pushy with me gave me a horrible experience. I believe his name was Luis?? Pretty sure. His associates we're a million times friendlier than he was, and made me feel welcomed in the establishment. However during this period in my life I was having some issues affording the daily bill since I lost my job due to COVID 19 and had my car in the shop. So I was making just enough money everyday to pay them right on time. However some days I got unlucky and they'd constantly add an extra deposit that just made it a million times harder for me keep up. Seems like my problem right? Well it was, however, every now and than I'd be a day late because I was in the process of making that money during the moment (I get paid everyday). Every time I was late they'd call and warn me to bring the car back. It was always Luis.. I tried negotiating with him, because in the past they use to reduce my deposit and give me an extra late day. It seems during the hard times of COVID they got even more strict, and less lenient. Which was extremely lame. Like I said every now and than I'd be a day late. And it got to the point that Luis was getting angry with me. It really got on my nerves. It seemed that he wasn't even following policy. It seemed like he just had a problem with me? It's almost like he enjoyed giving me a hard time, and didn't give me a single chance. Also it gets worse. I returned the car because my cars done in the shop and Luis just so happens to be my car inspector lol He seems to be looking extremely close to every single little detail. A lot more detailed than I've ever seen anybody examining a car before. Than he quickly states with extreme anger. "There's a scratch here! You're going to need to repair it and get a hold of your insurance! How much money do you have on you right now?" So at this point I'm extremely surprised with his reaction because of how unprofessional it was. I'm also very surprised at how obvious he made it seem that he was trying to give me a even more hard time. So I tell him "I only have 70$, you can't just bill me or wait for my insurances reimbursement?" And he goes " No we need some sort of payment NOW!" And I go " what about the accident insurance I've been paying for this car everyday??" And he goes " you purchased the insurance?" And I go " of course" than he apologizes. And seems to be grumpy that I made him look stupid because I had the stupid enterprise insurance the whole time. So with this said, he automatically assumed that I wasn't paying for the enterprise insurance everyday? Just because I was late a few days. And I was use to their old ways of handling these types of situations. As my conclusion the general manager Luis in Santa Maria was just trying to give me a hard time because I was use to their old habits. read more

Not impressed with the Customer Service. I did not get the vehicle I booked over the phone, instead they gave me something else and acted like they did me a favor. NOT! The girl who walked me around to my vehicle kept me out in the RAIN while doing her paperwork and finally I INSISTED that she pull the vehicle into their garage to finish the instruction. Hello... it was raining, I was soaked her paperwork was all wet, they have a Covered Car area! Really... The next day while trying to return the vehicle, while waiting in line I got to hear the arguing and unprofessionalism of the Enterprise Rep dealing with his customers. On the plus side, the vehicle did not break down, and even though we were crammed in like sardines, the DVD player worked, which made the trip bearable. As a retired Road Warrior who has rented hundreds of cars from hundreds of car rental agencies around the world, I have learned many lessons when it comes to renting cars. One, it takes time. Two, customer service varies wildly from brand and rental location. Three, always carefully check out your vehicle before signing anything, and always smell the inside. Four, set up your mirrors and learn the car's controls before you leave the parking lot. And five, double check everything. It also helps to be pleasant to the people who work at the location. I can't imagine what these folks go through, dealing with an ill-informed, rude, ignorant public much of the time. I've rented several cars from the S. Broadway and airport locations of our local Enterprise. Without fail, the staff who assisted me have been professional, courteous, efficient, and helpful. The vehicle selection isn't always the best, but that can occur in any smaller shop. The pickup and delivery service is a big plus for Enterprise. Customers must remember it.takes.time. Allow for it. This shop could use larger lot and slightly upgraded office area. It does have a good, central location for the city, though. Went to enterprise to rent a vehicle the first car I got had bunch of car hair in it the seats were cloth the car hair was woven into the seats my daughter is highly allergic to cats so I called and told them they said come back and we could exchange it. Got there talked to many he was amazing gave us a free upgrade!! And then I had some problems with one of the associates Colin he was the worst honestly it was not for manny i would not be doing business with them again Colin sucks!! My insurance company sent me here after having car accident. They are alright, one thing is the car they gave obviously smells like someone smoked in it. My kids have asthma and I know that it is not good to expose them to it. To make me happy, they said that next time I rent a car with they will give me an upgrade for free, we'll see how it will go. After checking in I was told to wait because the car wasn't ready, I said okay. 1/2 hour later I asked one lady how long more it was going to take and she said, " I don't know it depends for far you are in the list" I thought not very nice. As I kept staring at them they check and it seemed like my name wasn't even on the list. A couple of minutes later they brought the keys and the person said it's only 1/4 of of a tank, return it back the same way. That is what made me upset! this whole process took about an hour. I have never rented a car that was low in gas. It should always be ready for the next client. I went back to the counter and cancelled everything. I will not be going to enterprise, very an organize. I went to rent a car and they did not tell me I would be charged an extra 39$ for the young driver cost A DAY. I was told 200$ deposit would be returned . Once I dropped off the car In perfect condition gas was the same as they lent it out to me and I even turned it In early . THEY THEN TOLD MW ABOUT THE 39$ a day would be charged on top of my rental fee a day . I find this very unprofessional they should have let me know this was going to be the case over all I got charged something I shouldn't have had to pay for if they did not notify me there and then . I will never go back there again . I recommend somewhere else if you do not want to get scammed !!! They over charged me and the receptionist guy knows it he who helped me ! read more
