On the road up to the Rental Beach house!

We Rented for the New Year Eve in Oceano, Ca Beautiful and wonderful time with Family! Can't wait to plan another trip for the summer. Thank you Edi with Rainbow Ventures you did a great job on helping set up are family getaway!

the broken microwave left in the house we replaced it with our own new microwave when we moved and they charged us to dump their old one

If I could give them negative stars I would. I've never written a bad review, but dealing with rainbow was the absolute worst!! We also had/have issues even getting a hold of them most the time, communication is impossible! When we first moved in the lady I was corresponding with was so rude, it was stressful even trying to have a conversation with her. And the condition the rental house was in when we moved in, covered in greasy grimey dirt all over the floors and counter, none of the appliances worked we had to install our own, she said the house was "cleaned" but there was black hair and grass in the sink in showers. There was marijuana leaves and stems in the built in closet dresser that was there, the yard was so overgrown we had to spend days working on it. And all the faucets leaked. We were pretty much on our own because getting a hold of them was impossible. When we moved it the previous tenants left and HUGE broken tv in the garage that we had to pay to haul away ourselves because rainbow wouldn't. So when we moved, we left the appliances that were previously there that didn't work, and they charged US out of our deposit to dispose them. Btw, it took months to even get some of our deposit back.. So disappointing. If your thinking of dealing with rainbow.. Dont! Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Pics to follow. All that i said is true and i stand by it. Nipomo, ca summer of 2013. There never was a house walk through before we moved there, it was disgusting! also, after move in, our water to the house was shut off because apparantly before we moved in, you guys neglected to pay the water bill... You guys would know the facts if you ever answered your phone or email.

Also a great time in Pismo Beach! We have used Rainbow Ventures every year to book our vacation rentals and Edie is always helpful when ever we book our vacation. I will use Rainbow Ventures again and again for our next Pismo get away!

    View from the roof

I rented a house in pismo beach from rainbow ventures property's, for my sisters bachlorette party. The house I rented was great! Very clean well equipped with all kitchen stuff. Best part was the roof top deck looking onto the beach lots of seating for everyone. We had 11 girls and everyone had a place to sleep. They have two trundle beds down stairs you were only able to pull out one of the the trundles, we needed the mattress so we just took it out and they slept upstairs in the living room, no big deal, but that is my only complaint. The reservations were easy, Edie helped me with all the paper work she was very responsive and very helpful. I will for sure rent from them again if I'm ever vacationing in the pismo beach/ San Louis obispo area.

They cited their three-step process for checking the condo after every guest and said nobody noticed it before we rented the condo. I understand they think their process for checking is flawless, but I am 100% sure we did not cause the damage and then cover it with tape to hide it. Clearly, whoever did was successful in hiding it until the tape started to fray after our visit. Poor business practice to sacrifice $1000s of dollars we have spent and would continue to spend over a false accusation. I highly recommend meticulously videotaping your unit upon arrival lest you be blamed for preexisting damage. Unbelievable.

I probably would not have rented from Coastal Vacation Rentals had I read the poor reviews first. I have to say that I had a wonderful experience. The house was perfect and clean. The ease of renting was flawless. I always worry about leaving a $500 deposit but we had no issues at all getting our deposit back and I did not have to ask for it. It was automatic. The rental company was helpful, friendly and professional. I will be booking with them yearly moving forward. No issues at all. Do not pay attention to the poor reviews. It's honestly most likely bad renters.

We had a very wonderful stay at one of their beautiful beach homes this past spring break. Everything was clean with the usual dull kitchen knives and only a few non working appliances. Here's the problem. I get an email a day later after checkout with a picture of a broken bathroom mirror stating her maintenance person found it. She said not to worry because I purchased damage insurance and she just needs a brief statement of what happened. I was absolutely floored as we are the most careful and responsible vacation home renters in the world. I mean I got different friends banking on my family and friends to stay at their own rentals all over the world to help pay for their rental mortgages. If something broke, we would have let them know right away, offered to pay for it and with a gift of sharp kitchen knives as a sorry. This is 2026 and these iPhones now have the greatest quality and I right away went to my "exit" video and photos. I always do an exit video at any stay for proof of locked doors and windows as well as quality of rental upon exit so everything is date stamped. The mirror wasn't broken on my video and the kicker was that there was a hand towel rack with a hand towel hanging on the wrong side of the mirror on their picture compared to mine with no hand towel. There was basically no evidence of a relocated hand towel rack either. Please be very weary and always take lots of "Exit" pictures and videos if you must stay at any of this insurance fraud creating company's homes.

Missing basic kitchen utensils like a can opener. Used the pull out couch and there were a lot of food crumbs in the couch cushions. The check in process was unexpected and not clearly disclosed in the air b and b information. It was a bit of inconvenience to have to go pick up and drop off keys. I was called same day to collect a pet fee. I was under the impression it was all included in the numerous 500+ fees. I was never instructed to contact someone to pay ahead. When I got to the property a gate code was needed which was never provided, so I had to call to get. There's two different instructions for check out on in a book and one on the wall. Each had something different. When I arrived to the office there were three females at desk all on the phone and all held up a finger to me to wait a moment. I did, as I heard them banter about a broken garage door. Once that was over I was told I needed to fill out paperwork before getting keys. Overall it was a good stay but I don't know if I'd stay in a home hosted by this service.

Communication has been poor, expectations unclear, and the overall handling of our tenancy has created unnecessary stress. As a SLO native with local roots who wished to move back to my hometown for my career, this experience has been disheartening. Most recently, they immediately raised the rental price for our lease renewal. After we chose not to sign the renewal, they began scheduling showings almost right away, despite the fact that our current lease does not end until June. When we questioned the urgency, Gina stated that they needed to begin showings nearly immediately due to "prospective summer tenants." This felt extremely inconsiderate given that we are current tenants who pay rent on time and had just signed our lease in February. The lack of respect for tenants still actively living in the home was both frustrating and disappointing. Additionally, showings were frequently scheduled but, in approximately 90% of cases, the agent never arrived. This repeatedly disrupted our schedules. Both of us work demanding jobs in healthcare and the military, and we also have an ESA dog. Because of this, we needed to be present whenever strangers were expected in the home. Rearranging work obligations and personal commitments for showings that didn't even occur was frustrating and unnecessary. Additionally, they have been less than helpful with things like basic repairs & yard maintenance. We have tried to be cooperative and respectful throughout the process, but the lack of reliability, communication, and professionalism has made this experience extremely difficult. Tenants deserve reasonable notice, consistent follow-through, and basic respect for their time -- especially while still under an active lease.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!…read more I lived in a small one bedroom (closer to studio sized) apartment at their foothill gardens location for the 2019-2020 school year. First off, my landlord attempted to show my apartment to people in person during this pandemic. This is after SLO county, the country, and the world had mandated wearing masks in public, social distancing, and sheltering in place. He showed up at my apartment with guest in tow, neither of them wearing face coverings, standing about a 2 feet apart. He acted very irritated when I wouldnt let him in, but I'm at high risk for COVID and dont want to get sick. He should have offered tenants the option of recording a video of their apartment rather then blantently disregarding our health and safety. Secondly, look at my attached photo of my security deposit deductions. Almost $700 for "repainting". I can assure you I did nothing to damage the walls. Never had a party or guests over. Was barely home because I work 2 jobs and am a full time engineering student at Cal Poly. I didnt even have living room furniture besides a lawn chair and a surfboard. Nothing could have rubbed on the walls to warrant $1322.50 of paint repair. Then they try to charge me $200 for professional cleaning. My mother literally cleans other peoples houses for a living, and we worked for 2 days getting on our hands and knees scrubbing base boards, grout lines, cabinets, even the ceiling because it was stained before I moved in. It looked 100x better after we were done than when I moved in. They also charged me for replacing light bulbs even though I did that before I left. 2 lights didnt work because of electrical problems,(they flickered on and off every 10 min, overheatingI think). I tried 3 different types of bulbs in each socket with no luck. What I find sooo funny, is how much they're charging for this maintenance, yet the carpenter st. APTs are in terrible condition still. The decking outside my 2nd story apartment was literally terrifying when I moved in. Loose, rickety, I could feel the boards bending as I stepped on them. Some planks sat 2 or more inches below the surrounding ones giving it a pot hole effect. I actually sprained my ankle from tripping on it. They eventually replaced a few planks to "fix it", but it takes a whiiileee, for a deck to get that bad and rotted. It's still a little scary tbh
