The best part was how clean everything was and it didn't have the typical musty hotel smell at all. It seemed to have been updated recently with a nice teal paint color and wall canvases of the ocean. It also came with a microwave and good sized mini fridge. One thing I hope they improve is the door. It was very flimsy and I could see daylight through the gaps on the side. Plus, traveling alone I wished there was some type of second lock like a deadbolt or a chain, since the door opened directly to the outdoors. I would stay again. Good to note that there was a fridge and a microwave in our room, which we didn't expect. Not sure if that's standard for every room. They supply soap, but no shampoo. There is a convenience store right across the street. My only complaint - because I need to sleep in a cave - is that there are venetian blinds on the windows, not room darkening shades. It was plenty dark at night, but the sun comes up early in the summer on the prairie. So I rated this against all other hotels and amenities - but I think it would rate a 4 or 5 for the price.

The next two years, I was at homestead camp where we built camp fires, cooked our own food mostly through the fire pit, and walked on a trail to and from the main camp everyday. The last year, I was at beach camp, where we could do our own cooking inside the cabin and we did community outings such as going to the beach in town and visiting residents at a nursing home. They had a beach onsite and where I went swimming all four years. There was also a chapel onsite, where us campers worshiped every day.
