There were a few areas that needed a little grooming but nothing to cause you to lose the trail. There was a detour because goats were fenced along the trail nearest the swimming area causing that part to be closed. We just cut that part out and followed the road back to our car. So glad we did because we found two fawns on the edge of the road and photographed them peaking at us from behind the trees. Lots of wild flowers along the trail. It seemed to be a popular camping spot and many were swimming in the lake on a warm afternoon. We actually missed the Mt Tom lookout as you have to leave the trail and cross a parking lot to get to the lookout path. We decided to drive up there and I'm so glad we did. They have some nice placards and a lookout structure so you can really see above the tree line.

Cabin F was secluded with trees and just grassy area across the road. The campground was ok. I thought the sites were on the small side. The actual lake with beach area was far from the campground. You would want to drive there. The bath/shower house was in need of a good cleaning or remodel. Overall, a one night stay was just fine.

This is also a campground and RV pen I learned. People here seem to really like staying here. It's away from the hustle and bustle of city life which is good.

Our view was beautiful as we were right in front of the lake. They have rentals for boating and other activities available, as well as a list on their website around what to bring. I didn't interact with the owners themselves since we came in after the office closed, but getting the key and returning it was super easy. The beds are standard full and each room has an air conditioner in it for those sweaty nights. If you have more than 4 staying the couch is a futon! I really liked this spot and would consider it again. All of the sites are close together so you don't get the 'alone in the woods' feeling but it's still quiet enough where that's okay.

Now I would have to say it is one of the worst campgrounds I have been to. Now they are discriminating against some handicap people and are not as inviting for families to spend time together. They would rather you spend your time getting to know others around the campground. I for one don't care who else is out there I am there to spend time with my family and my family alone. The safety has seemed to go down as well there is enough people driving golf carts around while drinking that it has also made me uncomfortable for my children. Wish that the Old Wagon Campground wouldn't have gone down hill so much and been showing so much disrespect for a fun family get away!!

There was a ton of staff around and everyone was very helpful and friendly. There was a young woman at the front desk that we worked with the most often and she was very kind in explaining how the place worked and what was complimentary and what cost extra. We were guided to our camp site by a staff member on a golf cart which was very helpful as it was packed when we arrived. Despite the campground being full everyone was respectful and there was average noise for a populated area. We stayed Sunday night and then there were lots of spaces available. If you have the time to stay midweek I definitely recommend it. All the amenities were still available with a lot less people around. There were several flushing toilets, dog spaces and other amenities. We didn't have time to golf but wish we could have. We did try the pizza and it was delicious. We went tubing down the river and were warned that it is not a lazy river and that some steering would be required at times. The trip took about 2.5 hours for us and there were several trees and rocks to navigate. Still lots of fun but more of a work out than I anticipated. We loved this campground, and even though it was more than we usually spend on a site, it was worth it. We look forward to returning in the future.

BUT THERE'S NO FISH. They only care about money. You are arms length from the next campground literally arms lengths with no trees. Lol. Also plan on walking half a mile to the bathroom you're not using it outside once again no trees. If you wanna call that campground, I'm not sure. All the tubes were deflated and down and neglected. They have a rule against leaving rugs or mats in front of your tents. Dont bring your own fire wood because they insist on making you pay for theirs. You walk to their gift shop and they charge you 45.99 for a hammock. And $70 for a regular camping chair. Lololoololol!!!! Don't go here. Oh and their fake dog park has grass up to my knees. Hopefully this review helps you guys figure out your life.
