I just had a taste of PNC's horrible customer service at the branch on Route 30 in Paoli,…read morePennsylvania. I needed a document notarized and PNC offers notary services to its customers (or so I thought). I arrived and Angela at the front desk seemed panicky when I told her why I was there. The notary wouldn't answer her so Angela asked to see the seven page document. She asked me to take a seat. Someone came in while I was waiting, announced she had an appointment, and was led directly into the notary's office. If I had been taken when I arrived, I would have been done before the gal with appointment arrived. Minutes later, a guy in a suit shows up asking to see the document. He somehow communicated with the notary (even though I could see her through the glass office and she never once used the phone or computer), and he told me that Pennsylvania law permits notaries to refuse service. He told me that the notary refuses because she doesn't feel "comfortable" notarizing financial documents! (Remember this was a bank, a bank which offers notary services to its customers). A couple miles away, the notary at my credit union notarized the document with no reservation. Do better PNC!
