I left the classroom with confidence and ready to learn out on the field. I have to say this was a very though but yet effective course. Mrs. Evans makes sure that you understand what, when, and why. She is very thorough, and with out a doubt one of the best. This program changed my life, not only affordable but an amazing program! I highly recommend this program to anyone that's ready to learn how to be successful in the dental field!

I took the Clinical Medical Assisting Class offered by CalRegional also known as HarperRand…read moreCalRegional. It was $2,995, for 8 weeks, in person 9AM-1PM. Textbook not included (I have a physical MA Textbook available for sale for this class, if anyone wants to buy it off of me lmao! Not kidding either!) Navy Blue scrubs only is the uniform color you'll need for the class. My instructor was Ms Nina, although we were able to meet and be taught by the then, CalRegional Manager but now Instructor again, Melony for our class for a few days. Melony is a great instructor for the few days we had her. She taught us a lot. She is also very approachable and it was easy to get ahold of her. She was always responsive when I needed to get in contact with her towards the end of my class when she was placing me for my Externship. I was actually very lucky to be apart of the last of her students she placed for Externship before she stepped down as manager and became an Instructor again. Now Kathi is the current CalRegional manager. Let's get back to my class, as I said my Instructor was Ms Nina and I can't say enough good about her. She is the best! She's honest and open, her teaching methods are very hands on. She's funny as hell and super relatable too! She gave us a lot of insight on what to expect in the real world and couldn't stress safety enough! Our class was small, but made the learning experience all the more better. She taught us all so well and really made the time to help each one of us to be successful and absorb and understand what she was teaching us. Healthcare and the world in general need more people like Ms Nina! Thanks to her, I scored so well on my AMCA Exam and feel more confident than ever in my ability to be an amazing CMA. Note for future students: get all your prerequisites in by the first week! (Except for the drug test obviously, but at least pay for it and upload your receipt) Don't wait until midterm. Get it done by the first or second week. That way when it comes time for Kathi to place you at your externship, you can get placed sooner rather than later. I did all my pre reqs by the first week and got my externship start date for 3 days after my last day of class. If you wait til last minute to upload all your pre reqs and you'll end up being placed at externship later, because CalRegional technically has up to 60 days to place you. Also, pay your tuition in full so that way once you finish your externship and email your booklet to CalRegional you can immediately get your Certificate! If not, you don't receive it until you're paid in full.

I am currently a student here at SUI in the DMS program, graduating in March…read more It has truly been a blessing to learn about my dream career here at SUI. The program is accredited, which is great. Dr. Suhad is an amazing professor. She is down to earth and just brilliant. I couldn't imagine learning about sonography from anyone else. Melissa, my clinical coordinator, is very encouraging and I appreciate all of her help during my clinicals. I want to be 100% transparent about my time here at SUI so I will also speak about some things that can be improved on. I believe that better communication and full transparency will take this program to the next level. I think that the amazing staff, like Dr. Suhad and Melissa, are taking on a lot of responsibility and if their burden was shared with possibly more staff, the program would be so much more amazing. There are a few other kinks not worth mentioning but I know that SUI is already done some steps to make the next cohort's experience better than what mine was so I know they are very well capable of greatness. Nonetheless, my time here at SUI was/is truly remarkable. I would recommend it if you are seriously as passionate about sonography as I am.

As a working single mother, I invested $5,000 in this program hoping to build a better future for…read moremy family. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling unsupported and unfairly treated. I struggled with Physics and repeatedly sought help from my instructor, Tamara. After expressing that I felt behind, I was told that other students needed assistance and that she would try to get to me when she could. Rather than receiving the guidance I needed, I often felt dismissed. Toward the end of the program, I became seriously ill. During finals week, when attendance was not mandatory and students had been allowed to leave early, I stayed behind specifically to ask questions because I was committed to learning. On one occasion, I attended a meeting while traveling to a doctor's appointment and later received medical documentation supporting my condition. Despite this, I was written up for attending the meeting from my car and later for not wearing scrubs during an after-class meeting, even though I could not find a policy in the student handbook requiring uniforms for meetings outside scheduled class time. I was also required to write a one-page letter regarding the incident. What was particularly concerning was the apparent inconsistency in how disciplinary actions were applied. I observed other students arriving late to class without receiving the same level of disciplinary action, including formal write-ups or being required to write a one-page letter. This left me feeling that I was being held to a different standard. I also felt that my work was not evaluated fairly. Despite following assignment instructions, using the required ultrasound images, and incorporating the requested examples, I received only the minimum passing grade. Throughout the program, students are frequently reminded that instructors and program staff have significant influence over clinical placements and future opportunities within the profession. Because of this, I felt uncomfortable raising concerns or filing complaints while enrolled, out of fear that doing so could negatively impact my clinical experience or future success in the program. As a result, I remained silent about many of the issues I experienced. Throughout the program, I worked hard to balance full-time employment, motherhood, health challenges, and my education. Instead of receiving support, I felt that personal opinions may have influenced how I was treated. I later failed my final to which I blame not getting the support that I needed with half a point and I knew she had personal issues with me because she did not contact me with any support when I know she reached out to another student that had dropped out and gave her support so she had personal issues with me when little does she know that I was a struggling mother of two working full-time and trying to get through this program not fully understanding it and wanting help and never getting it . My experience left me disappointed and feeling that student success depended more on instructor preference than on effort and dedication. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this program. Definitely be careful. I have never been treated so horribly by a teacher in my life and I have been to a community college as well as a 4 year college, and when voicing my concerns the only reply I received was thank you for your concerns. Beware. So I hope Tamara feels proud of herself for ruining someone's future for personal unknown reasons. mind you I had done every assignment I could, every extra credit that was assigned, attended every study group I could to try and pass this class. beware if they decide they do not like you. They will make sure that they take your money and that you do not pass and proceed.

In response to the "review" from Jackie P. of Lodi…read more Its amazing how so many people "complain" about UEI and how UEI does not "find them a job". No school, including UEI promises to secure you employment! No, what we do promise is do do OUR part to give you (the student), the education (if YOU work at it), the tools (if you are PRESENT) and the resources (if you put in the TIME and WORK) to find sustainable employment in your field. I'm flabergasted at the reviews ans some of these students A.) didnt attend daily or B.) mosey'd into class when and where they saw fit or C.) didnt stay in compliance with policies including uniforms....or even a mixture of all. This is COLLEGE and you enroll as an ADULT yet a lot of students dont act like it, then in turn leave reviews like the one left by Jackie P. It doesnt matter what college the administration came from....the administration was not the cause of institutions like "Heald and Marinello Beauty Schools" (as she mentioned) closed down. I was a Heald student as well and was directly affected. Its way bigger than UEI's staff being the so called cause of their closure. UEI is NOTunprofessional, its actually one of the more professional establishments I have come into contact with. Federal money (funding) is obtained from the Dept of Education to ASSIST students in coming to school. It is not obtained fraudulently, it is approved by the federal govt and we are a fully accredited institution. You should research before commenting. Interesting how this comment comes directly after a HUGE graduation ceremony celebrating the many students who worked their way through their programs. Im wondering if you are just mad because you were not part of that? Or why even? UEI is not perfect, and we serve a population that normally gets tossed by the way side. Im very proud of the work UEI does, proud of the campus as a whole and the diversity in that campus. Im extremely proud of the strides UEI has come since opening the Stockton campus in 2011, because the UEI schools have actually been in business since 1982. Dont let a disgruntled student's review hinder your success. Come see UEI for yourself!!!! There is an opportunity coming up to sit in on classes I believe 8/23....stop by... get a feel for the campus and collect information!!! MAKE YOUR OWN DETERMINATION!
