    Pickleball courts
    Mia R.

Indoor pickleball & padel courts at Sawgrass! With the rainy weather, this spot couldn't have opened at a better time! They had a promotion of 50% off court reservations over the weekend and we had to take advantage of it. These courts are brand new & beautiful, with 10 pickleball courts and 7 padel courts. It was a great use of the space, located within Sawgrass Mills Mall, right next to the Rain Forest Cafe. They have an entrance from within the mall, that enters into their store and also another entrance you can enter in from the outside of the mall that goes straight to the courts. Parking is pretty easy and the courts are super new. A few notes from when we went during opening week- it was a bit hot in there, as expected, with the big open space being used for physical activity. I imagine it would be hard to keep this space cooler. The pickleball courts are back to back, which isn't the best design but I know they probably did this to make sure they had as many courts as possible inside. Having courts back to back with no barriers means that balls tend to roll and fly into other courts during game play, which isn't ideal. This happened way too much during our time here and we also had to run far distances to get the ball since the nets allow the ball to roll underneath. The bright orange color of the pickle courts are also not my favorite because it makes it a bit hard to see the ball, but that's just a personal con. I also got to try the padel courts while there and thought it was cool that they have these and padels available for rental. Now for the price... it's up there. I've been to a couple of indoor courts in Broward and Miami and none of them have reached these prices, in my experience. For Epic, currently, the pickleball courts are $60/hour during peak hours & $40/hour during non-peak hours while the padel courts are $35 *per person during peak hours and $30 *per person during non peak hours. Definitely make note of the per hour versus per person price difference between the courts. They have a membership, which is not too worth it in my opinion, with only one booking rental per month and a few other perks that don't really equate to the $99 per month (special promo price they currently have) and the $150 per month, normal price. I'm interested to see if they change up what the membership entails to make it worth the price or if they will make it a bit lower. A little bummed as I would've loved to possibly get a membership here since it's not too far from me and indoor courts are ideal in FL's hot & rainy weather. Overall, still a great place to play indoors if you're possibly playing with a big group to split the cost or try out pickleball or padel.

First time playing at Epic Athletic Club and it was definitely an experience to remember. Hands down the best experience for pickleball. Ariadna was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She showed us the facilities and membership options and I will definitely be back again and again because of her amazing knowledge.

It decent indoor. Just needs better dividers so once that gets done it will help with game play for pickleball.

They also have a dog park, basketball court, tennis courts, fitness area, fishing, handball etc. Plenty of parking. I love that it's right by the water and there's a bit of shade as you're trying to get your daily steps in. I have recently been trying to find more outdoor activities and this is one of my local favorites in coconut creek/margate.

I finally stopped coming because some people were not watching their dogs as closely as they should. The worst incident I saw happened when a bike rider was going past the fence. A dog pulled off the leash a man was holding and leaped up and ripped her arm open. After that I was done. The problems of the past seem to be over with the new renovation of the dog park. You must register your pet now in order to use it. Registration is $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $70 for non residents. There are separate parks for large and small dogs. The city has added wash stations and agility equipment for the dogs. The park is lovely since it borders a lake and there are over 60 trees providing shade. Water fountains, benches, and a wash station were also added. Keeping your pet safe is a security fence surrounding the entire dog park. Right now only around 150 dog owners have signed up so the park is never crowded. The park is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. The iconic windmill of the park has now been moved to the inside of the dog park and a lot of landscaping was added. The renovation of the dog park was part of a 3 million dollar Windmill park renovation. Parking used to be dicey but not anymore as the parking lot has been expanded to twice it's size. A new playground has been also added for human kids. Furry kids can be registered at the Community Center up the street on Lyons Road. Once you pay you are given a FOB to enter the dog park fence.

Rain checks are good only if you play less than 30 minutes" Once again, I tried to explain and the individual just replied "NO". Obviously, Weston Tennis Center, has no business sense and zero consideration for current members. It's no coincidence, WTC lost 25% of Pickleball membership in last 4 months. If you are looking for a good Pickleball Club, stay away from WTC! There are state of the art Clubs within 10-20 miles from WTC., ie: Epic (Sawgrass Mills Mall), The Fort- Ft Lauderdale
