I randomly decided one day that I wanted to learn what all the fuss was about Pickleball. The Fort has an introductory course and I am happy that I went. There are instructors who teach you the basics such as moves and tactics. After listening intently to the instructions, I was able to practice serving as well as returning. Idk what to say, but seems like I'm more tennis material than delicate pickleball lol. All in all, it's was a fun experience and even got a tour of the beautiful facility. The entertainment aspect of The Fort consists of a few different things. Customer service was on point. This was my first time playing pickle ball and they were very accommodating. Once we played for about an hour they had a full bar with some food options. We had us a refreshing cocktail and re-upped on some water to stay hydrated. The courts, store, and bar area were clean and inviting. We've already reserved to be back next Saturday. This is a really cool place especially if you love pickle ball. I came here for a work outing. I was surprised at what a cool places was. As we walked in, they have the store for anything that you need. As we walked outside, there was a bar that had draft beer as well as mixed drinks. Our group had reserved a couple of courts and their receipts right by the court so we were able to watch while our friends played. This location is huge and has a greatest aesthetic. This is one of the first larger Pickleball Courts I've been to. It was as if TopGolf met Pickleball. To start, I would like to mention how this facility was built more "in the middle of nowhere" in Fort Lauderdale by the airport, which I appreciate. They chose a wonderful plot of land, rather than bulldozing a park or cutting down more trees to put this up. I've lived in Fort Lauderdale all my life, and this plot of land was nothing before they turned it into "The Fort." Second, the service was great. All of the employees were super helpful, fun, and nice. The area is well-maintained and cleaned regularly. There is a bar area offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as indoor and outdoor courts for play. As a Florida citizen, I know the weather is very unpredictable. I had a great time playing pickleball here, and it's good to know there is a solid space for everyone to play, because I attended an event; I do not know the pricing, but I was overhearing that a lot of people pay a membership fee to play. I'm not too sure how much it would cost to just come one time, or how long you can play. read more

I'm genuinely blown away by The Fort--this place absolutely rocks! The scale alone is impressive, with around 50 pickleball courts, some fully covered and others paired with cabanas that make it easy to relax and hang out between games. Right when you walk in, there's a full bar, perfect for grabbing a drink after a match and adding to the social, country-club vibe. Can't forget the grill that serves up casual food like burgers to get some energy in. The whole facility feels thoughtfully designed, featuring an amphitheater, a beach area with beach tennis, and even an arena-style pickleball court with tiered seating where you can watch high-level matches. There's also a private room above the restaurant available to rent, which is a great touch for events or groups. I've also heard their weekend wellness events bring in fitness instructors and unique vendors, adding yet another layer to the experience. The four of us booked a cabana court, and it couldn't have been more enjoyable. Music plays throughout the space, creating a fun, energetic atmosphere--we were literally dancing between points while watching the sunset. After a couple of hours of play, we headed to the Florida Room (their on site restaurant) to eat. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor, and the cinnamon roll was next-level!! Loved this place. Lots of parking and bathroom options available (not unisex). I just took the intro class with coach Gary and Jason. And they were amazing! They were super helpful and the class was small and I actually feel like I understand the game! They were so patient and kind. And it really made the game seem fun! As someone who is not great at contact sports (was a rower through college) I get super nervous about being bad at group sports like that so I was pretty anxious going in and I actually felt pretty comfortable with this x They have lots of activities like more classes and leagues; ladies nights; competition/tournaments etc. and we walked around and it's a huge facility but I would recommend to get a court not in the like sheltered area because it's soool hot there. The ones out in the open get a better breeze. The newbie courts are court 27 and 28. To the right of the bar. Oh and they have a bar and working on a restaurant. Finally got back into pickleball and went by The Fort. I used the app to reserve the court, which was $53 for a hour. I don't think that is too bad for 4-6 people to split. They have many courts from outside to inside the tent areas. They provided free filtered water stations, there's a bar and the place is huge. Enough parking despite being busy. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with any questions which is great especially if you are a first timer it could be easy to get overwhelmed. You do not need to be a member here to play as they offer day passes. There are several covered courts and the rest are outdoors. There are pros and cons to both obviously being the weather, even though it could be hot outside it could be just as hot under the covered courts. There is a bar there as well which I believe is a full serve bar and a restaurant coming real soon this month of October with a great extensive curated menu from "Top Chefs." Again highly recommended as it is extremely organized with skill ratings players, open play or reserved court options available. Been a regular for the past 3 months. read more

Awesome new pickleball club in Ft. Lauderdale. It is located right next to Snyder park. Club has just opened this month and is hosting the first Pickleball Ft. Lauderdale Open this week. This facility has 45 courts (14 of them are under cover). There are several membership options including an annual membership for $139 per month which gives you access to unlimited open play and allows you to reserve courts up to 14 days in advance. This place is amazing to see, and really highlights the growth and popularity of Pickleball. We were invited to tour this new venture, and it is certainly impressive. A great pro shop, lots of courts, "indoors" and outdoors (the indoor courts are just covered courts, so it still gets very hot, esp. in the summer. There's a very nice stadium court with seating for fans. They plan to host some major tournaments. The bars, food venues are still getting developed, but currently there is a working bar, Serves and Thirds. They are selling memberships, but you can come play even if you're not a member, just buy a day pass... and not very expensive so easy to try out the place. This new pickleball facility is amazing. They have a pro shop, locker rooms, and I don't know how many pickleball courts. Some are completely shaded, but most are open to the sun. There is even a pickleball stadium. We had a blast playing pickelball here. Highly recommended. read more

Awful no parking and if you are in a tournament they charge you $25 plus tax to practice the day before. Plus they mark off courts for members to play and make the people in the tournament wait hours in between games. Especially if it is raining. During The AARP tournament they would not let the players park in the lot either. The parking lot was never full. You have to park across the street or 10 minutes away with a shuttle. The Fort is a pickleballer's dream. Forty-three courts, country club amenities, and a gorgeous lake is not what sets it apart. We've all been to great places with obnoxious people. What makes The Fort great is its enthusiastic staff who strive to provide a great experience. They let me try a dozen paddles with no hassle (thank you JT), install a hesacore grip that I didn't buy there (thank you, Collin), pull together a foursome in the late afternoon, when open play was slow (thank you Tina) teach me to play singles at no charge (thank you Jose), provide me with with ice when the machine is empty (thank you bartenders). The list goes on. While The Fort is still in its first few months of operation, and, like all new businesses, has a few kinks to iron out, the positive attitudes and cool player vibes are what keep me coming back on the daily. A final point worth noting is The Fort's policy to allow members and day passers to use unreserved courts without charge! At all other pickleball clubs you cannot step onto an empty court without paying the hourly rental fee. read more
