Title should read: Gulf War Veteran Shown the Door! Let's be…read morehonest, PATIENT CARE BEGINS WHEN YOU ENTER THAT FRONT DOOR PERIOD ANDREW! Listen, as with any payout at the end of the day it's about ROI, Return On Investment for all you non-business types, aka what value am I getting for my money! I see a Typical Positive Review: "Dr. Moyes talks to his patients" Well this long time customer would sure the hell hope so and question the intelligence of the individual that took the time to write the review if it wasn't just another employee/internal BS! Up front I informed this what appears to be an incompetent assistant that called me back for the initial exam the prescribed eye drops were going to be overnighted by the VA. Yes, on Dec 11th, 2025 this Gulf War Veteran was scheduled for a procedure to improve vision after multiple cornea transplants. After checking in I'm She begins to harass asking if "there's not a local pharmacy to pick them up?" I said, "I told you they are going to be shipped and they should arrive today." She then states, "I still have to ask you!" Understand at a minimum I believe in order to deal with the public on a daily basis whether it be in the profession of patient care or any other line of work in customer service/support you should be an EFFECTIVE LISTENER! As a War Vet where lives were once on the line please know I have a low tolerance for BS when it comes to incompetence and those paid to do a J.O.B! With the unemployment rate as high as it is I DO NOT understand with individuals like this employed taking up office space hired by Moyes Eye Center. Who's in control of QA, ensuring patients are top priority when entering your front door?! "Andrew," Dr. Moyes if you choose, explanation after hearing about the situation "this is family" for yes another one of those employees that SHOULD NOT be in patient care PERIOD and so it's the end of the road for not one patient (aka Customers) but two! Andrew, Please know this long time patient has contacted the VA for a new referral, preferrably without all the incompetence, because it appears you've lost touch with once was a decent operation! I fully understand dollar bills have a tendency to control that matter! Andrew, this war veteran has choices and you've lost my respect because it seems that through business growth across the KC metro it's become all about the dollars and less about the emphasis on quality patient care and DO NOT think for one minute I will not spread the work Andrew! Please Know the individual that followed/cleaned up after your dysfunctional hire did beautifully/superb in her assigned duties although you preferred to jump to conclusions for only you know why! I highly recommend if you're going to take money from the deserving War Vets in this region you at least train your staff instead brushing off responsibility! Ultimately he enters the room with his NKC location sidekick Dr. V, (Verachtert/ Anthony if you choose) who participates in the ridiculous patient shuffle on a daily basis! If you know you know! Patients waiting up to 45 from my experience and this goes back years according to others that have ultimitely had it with this operstion! Andrew apparently has his mind made up after that office liability approaches with her side of the story, perhaps presenting that race card! He asks "what's going on." I DID NOT hesitate in letting this clueless individual know that I DO NOT APPRECIATE being brushed off and disregarded when providing pre-op information to an incompetent individual who's goal seemingly was to dictate how I go about getting the requested eye drops. No, it was more than apparent that she did not like my response/s. But if you ask Andrew "That's Family" this liability's approach to substandard patient care! Yes, incident reported to the VA as he should not be on that list as this was not the first situation/encounter where his "family" seemed to have other priorities than providing top level care for those "Customers" walking through that front door and so it's the end of the road!

First and foremost, I arrived here November 2025. I've arrived because the day before I sprayed…read moreperfume in my car and it accidentally got into my eye. Chemical reaction. Eye pressure was high and etc. ok. First doc I seen was a surgeon and didn't like because well when he came in like 2 people who are "learning" wanted to be in. The doc chose not to have bedside manners and ask me for my consent first and if it was okay. I had to stop him from talking to ask who they were then told them to get out. I'm not gone be your little experiment or "ooo this is interesting" bs. The walls are thin and I can hear the staff talking. I could even hear "oh she got an interesting case" and etc. I don't care watch what you say knowing these walls are very thin. Anyways first doc wanted blood work done for damn near every single thing. They all came back normal. Did another bloodwork again with my PCP in December all back normal. I requested to my PCP for a referral for a rheumatologist but specifically at KU med because they are the best. Just recently seen my rheumatologist and she even suggested getting a second opinion because she looked at my lab report BOTH of them and she said everything is normal and is concerned on why these people have me on two eye pressure drops and one steroid drops for 5 months. So she sent a referral to KU ophthalmology for their opinion. KU med is a teaching hospital so they are very up to date, go by the book, caring, find the actual problem. I've had speciality docs there for myself and for my kids and very good experience. I should've went there first instead of Moyce Eye Center. I shouldn't be on these damn steroid drops for 5 months. Because all three drops for one damn eye... is already effecting me at the side effects. More fatigue where it's effecting me in daily tasks. I'm not tired but the damn drops making me tired. My iron supplements don't even work anymore. at this point I don't have a good feeling with this place nor trust anybody there. Money hungry. Wonder is it cause I'm on Medicaid? Wouldn't be surprised. I def wouldn't come back here AT ALL. Bye

They are aware of this. Well, I had thought everything went smoothly. She received her glasses and everything. About a week later, I received a call from Children's Mercy Hospital saying they had a referral for my cousin because she had liquid buildup in her eye. Now, I kind of went silent for a moment and I asked who made the referral because I didn't know anything was wrong. They didn't say anything to me. Well, my cousin overhears this and says "Oh, the doctor referred me because something is wrong with my eye." So they left a 15 year old to tell me or her dad. They called me today to verify she had an appointment. I called them back and said "Yes, I made the appointment. Can you explain to me why you told the minor something was wrong and not the parent or the person who brought her in?" The lady on the phone then says that they don't have her father's information and there was no consent on file. But I called before her appointment, and they said we were good to go. I even asked if they needed a letter from her father saying I could bring her in and be told whatever may be important to know. They said no. Well, they claim they don't have it today. So, I said, "The next time this kind of thing happens. Perhaps ask for the phone number of the person you need to talk to. I have his number, so does she. My issue was that I was shocked to find out my cousin needed to go see a specialist at 15 for her eye with a surprise phone call from a specialist." Don't excuse your lack of action by lying to me. If you really didn't have his information, you knew very well you could ask for it. I was asked for it today over the phone. That made LESS sense.
