On the edge of the 12 South strip, Epice is a modern, sleek exterior with traditional, timeless Lebanese cuisine. You may have trouble finding a seat without a reservation, but OpenTable is available. I found the service to be friendly and knowledgeable. For a weekend dinner for two with tax and tip, we spent $150 which is a great value for the flavors and freshness served. We ordered appetizers, cocktails, main dishes, and Epice served us a small complimentary salad. As usual in 12 South, parking is tricky, so leave extra time to find a spot or do research ahead of time on SpotHero, etc.

Yummy spot for a Lebanese brunch in Nashville's 12 South neighborhood. They can accommodate a large group, but you'll need a reservation. Staff are friendly and efficient. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu. Al Raheb (eggplant dip), arnabeet (fried cauliflower with beet tahini), and Epice salad (fresh greens, goat cheese, dried apricots) were all good. Shakshuka is a healthy, filling lunch with two perfectly poached eggs. Lots of shops in the area for walking about after.

The food here was delicious, but I was too tired to remember the full experience. Came here for a work dinner, sharing plates of lamb meatballs, chicken, potatoes, and more. I'd definitely come here again, and I mean - pretty much all the food in the 12 South neighborhood is excellent. Hard to argue revisiting a top rated Lebanese restaurant again. Cool that there seems to be quite a few options for that in Nashville. I had no idea!

Brunch here is very yummy service is quick and the servers are very nice. I have been here twice and have no complaints about any of the food I have tried. The atmosphere is giving #Slay. Overall a wonderful place to get brunch at would very much recommend to anyone in 12 south.

Nothing standout, but super light, fresh, sophisticated Lebanese food. You leave feeling light yet satisfied. Each entree comes with a small salad to start which doesn't ruin your appetite but just kicks the meal off with some crisp freshness. We sat outside but the entire restaurant atmosphere is very polished and minimalistic: beautiful. The servers are extremely professional and attentive. We went at around 5pm on a Tuesday and there were many available tables. My friend was getting the sayadeya so I was suggested by our waitress to order the samak with salmon. We also got the Arnabeet to share. Here were my thoughts: Arnabeet: 8.5/10 - Slightly crispy due to a very very light breading, yet the inside of the cauliflower maintained its flavor and integrity. Topped with a gorgeously flavorful beet sauce and pistachios for crunch. Great great bite. Sayadeya: 8/10 - I adored the fish. It was so warm, flaky, and soft in the mouth. The rice was good, but not my favorite. The fish is definitely the star, and the sauce on top just rounds it out perfectly. I wish there were more sauce though, just cause it was that good and I'm a sauce enthusiast. Samak: 6.5/10 - Honestly, I prefer more savory, umami dishes. This was very citrusy and fresh. The couscous was on the cooler side rather than being warm. I did really enjoy the salmon, which was perfectly cooked, super tender and well seasoned. I did feel like the dish was dry and needed a sauce like the sayadeya.

One of our favorite places in 12 South. Great atmosphere, staff, and it's always difficult to make a final decision on food because we love everything, but my go to is the Tawook.

What a great evening , enjoyed the way they. Fought the food out. And of course the man dishes were amazing. Good ambiance in the restaurant as well. We really enjoy the sayadeya dish, it's a favorite.

First time here. Got a solo reservation at the bar, fantastic service. Staff was super attentive and kind. Started with Kibbeh, very good. Wish it was a bit crispier, but flavors were great. Rack of lamb was incredible. Pistachio crust on it was delicious. Definitely will be returning!

I think this is one of the best places you can go for good appetizers. I felt that the meat was good, but not as stand out as the hummus and the asparagus salad. I can get the same meal but better up the street on Gallatin with more decor, great staff, and more reasonable prices. It was pretty slow even with only a few tables taken on a week night. The explanation of the menu items wasn't clear even after asking (I don't think the staff member was fully knowledgeable on the ingredients) so we just picked what sounded okay and went with it.

I've wanted to eat at Fattoush Café since I moved to Nashville, but I've never found myself in that part of town at meal time. We walked in and found a cozy atmosphere, with no pretense. A single gentleman behind the counter, who may have been the owner, begged our indulgence as none of his employees had shown up to work that day. We were fine to wait given the delicious smells coming from the grill. He asked us if we wanted the chicken shawarma, and then apologized because he was freshly cooking a batch and it would take 15 minutes to be ready. That was music to our ears. Any Mediterranean restaurant that cooks proteins to order shows great promise. We had a chicken Shawarma salad, and the super platter. The portions were tremendous, the proteins were spectacular, and the tzatziki and spicy sauce both tasted looked and smelled homemade. The hummus was some of the best I've had in this town. The total for two huge meals, that really fed us each twice, was a paltry $40. The man behind the counter thanked us for coming in, again thanked us before we left, and was genuinely kind and seemed happy to have us in the restaurant. I'd…read moresaved them in my Nashville bookmarks for some time after they received a lot of acclaim on Yelp - I believe at one time they were on a Yelp list of best restaurants in the US. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

I can't speak to the authenticity of the Turkish cuisine here, but I can speak to the food quality. Starting off is a beautiful focaccia loaf with a mix of light spices and olive oil. It's odd to say bread is relaxing and refreshing but here it is. The hummus is quite the same, lightly spiced but bright and refreshing. The ezme is interesting. To me it resembles a Turkish version of chips and salsa, very tomato forward but lightly spiced. Only complaint of the meal for me was the lamb kabobs. I am notorious for over seasoning things, and that is simply how my palette is. The lamb was cooked perfectly, not dried out and moist, however I would've liked a little more seasoning. The Billur kabob has been a repeat favorite of mine over the years. The combination of sautéed eggplant, pashamal sauce and onions/peppers/mushrooms creates an explosion of varying textures and tastes. Everything sort of melds together perfectly once it's cooked on the stone oven and becomes a cohesive entree better than the sum of its parts. The servers are always very attentive, respectful and knowledgeable about the menu. When I first started coming here they always had fantastic recommendations. We oogled the aisles at the assortment of offerings and their very good prices. My son then started complaining about being hungry so we decided to return later. As I was leaving we said goodbye to the cashier. He asked if anything was wrong. I replied, no just have to feed my son. He nodded and we were off. 1/2 hour later we were back. This time no line. I asked about the lines. He stated it is normal but it does go fast. I can witness to that. I bought some bread and some sambusas (sp). 1 chicken, had a nice spice but the vegetable blew me away!!! So incredibly tasting I did not feel guilty it being a deep fried pie. We talked to the cashier about the bread. He asked if I went back to the bakery to see what was the freshest. I said I will be right back. I was and bought a few more packages. AMAZING and OMGosh, what a treat watching the bakers make the bread. Makes one wonder how far we have come to want to go back and see how much better authentic bread should and is still made.
