I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.

I wish there was negative stars to give My experience with the X-ray program at Casa Loma College…read moreNashville was disappointing and, at times, unprofessional. The environment often felt more like a high school than a professional healthcare education program. Favoritism appeared to play a significant role in how students were treated. Behavior that was overlooked for some students resulted in disciplinary action for others. I observed instructors and staff engaging in conduct that I felt was inappropriate for an educational setting, including discussing students, allowing nicknames that could be viewed as unprofessional, and tolerating behavior that created a negative learning environment. When concerns about misconduct were raised, I did not see meaningful action taken. Academically, I felt the instruction was lacking. Much of the teaching consisted of reading directly from textbooks or slideshows with limited explanation or hands-on guidance. Given the relatively small teacher-to-student ratio, it was concerning to see such a low percentage of students successfully pass certain courses. I also witnessed accommodations and grading adjustments that appeared inconsistent among students. The learning environment was frequently disrupted by unrelated conversations during labs and quizzes. Lab sessions often lacked structure, and equipment or procedures did not always function as expected. Rather than fostering student success, the atmosphere often felt discouraging and unsupportive. For a program that requires a significant financial investment, I expected a higher level of professionalism, accountability, and educational quality. Unfortunately, my experience did not provide the preparation or support I believe students deserve when pursuing a career in radiologic technology.

We kept getting passed between different directors and hearing promises that never got followed through. On top of that, they don't even have proper clinical sites set up. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This is a long awaited review for the paralegal and legal secretary extension program. I am a…read moregraduate from both of these programs who has received most all A's and a few B's yet still cannot find a job in this field and I'll tell you why. What they don't tell you is that at least 33-40% of job listings you see online prefer Spanish speakers if not be multi lingual altogether in Spanish. If you don't speak Spanish, save your money and skip this program. Also this program is not ABA approved which will nix you for another 10% of job postings. That's not really too much of a factor as the only difference is whether you have access to a law library at your school. You can get law library access in downtown LA. I give this program two stars because I don't fault the instructors but rather fault the administration. I wish they had gotten some law firms involved in internships because more students would've gotten some real law firm experience. I had volunteered over 100 hours at the court house and did actually work as a legal assistant for a few months but still cannot get a job in this field. Some students already work at law firms prior to signing up for this program hence making this program have a better rate of success than it does. If you do not speak Spanish yet smart, do yourself a favor and save your money. School is only worthy if you can move ahead. As for me, I'm still waiting yet can only get job interviews from the trade I have done before. In hindsight, I should've taken classes in upping in my trade and not in this field.

This is about the EXTENSION not the College. The college is actually pretty great!…read more This is a bit of a complicated review. The classes and the teachers are top notch (99% of them, anyway). Very thorough, detailed, and informative. All the classes were well crafted and the teachers experienced in their field. NOW ABOUT THE ADMINISTRATION.... they are very nice... especially prior to the classes starting...They do their very best for you to get enrolled. Unfortunately, that is where things take a turn. The Administration is inconsiderate of the students. When the students complain about the teachers.. we get a: "thank you, we'll look into it" and nothing more. When a teacher missed class due to illness.... the Administration took it upon themselves to MOVE THE GRADUATION DATE without asking or inquiring with the students. .... Who does that??? Over the flu? No. I am very disappointed in the Administration/Director's lack of consideration and the utter disregard to the students, our families, and our TIME. Can I recommend the school?? NO. I am comfortable endorsing the teachers but not the school itself.

I've had good luck overall when i had to speak to counselors in the past and they even offered video visits(unsure if they still do so) greast school to kick start off your pre reqs if you cant afford university, try here first then transfer out.
