Pro's: - Friendly call taker and confirmed all of my journey - Driver was on time and called exactly at the booked time - Clean clean and driver got out to help with luggages - Started a hi conversation but as business papers quickly realised and just go onto driving. - Dropped me off and I paid him and had the correct change but i let keep the odd pound or so as tip. - Forgot to get a receipt, one quick call and had a receipt via e-mail Con's - Current online booking not very user friendly and would recommend everyone to give them a call instead. He also had the cheek to charge us £5 extra because a road was closed of due to a crash. He then had to ask us for a different route and clearly had no knowledge of where he was or where he was going. We are both shaken by the experience and will never use abbey cars again after this.

More recently when I've ordered under my name there have been delays (or in one case, no cab at all). Mini cab firms are a strange area of business to review... I was a keen user of Addison Lee for years because they were reliable and on time. However, Astoria are much cheaper for shorter journeys (Add Lee have a minimum £10 fare) and, if you go into the firm to get your cab you'll definitely get where you going quickly and at a decent price.

Another taxi was sent, 20-25mins late. The original taxi had apparently picked up my neighbours! I was outside the house a couple minutes BEFORE the scheduled arrival time but the original taxi, having arrived early, obviously did not bother to check the name, the phone number or even the destination of his passengers. My neighbours were in fact going to Victoria station, their booked taxi DID check such details with me, in hindsight it would have been better to have used that taxi, but we thought our Brownes taxi would arrive any minute. In the end, the journey in fact took 1 hour 10 mins, and my mother missed her flight. This is not entirely the fault of the taxi service of course and their price is reasonable, however if you are going to use Brownes: add on time to the estimate they give you, and be aware that they do not check who is getting into the car. Their approach in this instance, including their approach to customer service on receiving feedback, was careless.
