It was a simple probate case for my mother's estate and I have FOUR lawyers had to deal with because one would leave and be replaced by another one without any advance notice. Hired Epstein & Assoc for small claims litigation of $60k. Poor business quality. They will email nonstop asking for retainer top up BUT will not give updates about the case unless I ask for it and it takes them 2-4 weeks to reply via email. Telephone? Good luck, you will only get a voicemail! $7k and 5 months later, nothing happened to my case because they keep asking for retainer fees after billing me for paperworks only. My case didn't even reach the court!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH EPSTEIN unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars in your case. Disgusting Law firm. We hired Deborah Lyons to assist in a court matter, not only did she file paperwork that was not proper for the court hearing therefor was dismissed, we informed her we took a loan for $5000 to hire her for the paperwork. It was determined she would inform us of the costs of things as we moved foreword and as we were getting low on the initial payment so we could determine how much we were able to afford before we ran out. At the end of the paperwork she came up with an amount that we were now 3500 over our initial payment. And she had never informed us that we were nearing our limit. The unlawfulness of breach of trust and taking advantage of clients who were just trying to gain parenting rights with little money to fight back. If we had known we were nearing our limit, we could either try to save to move ahead, or finish the process on our own, as was discussed and agreed on before hiring her. 3 months following this, I put through a motion to change on my own and have succeeded in resolving my issues that a scholared lawyer was unable to accomplish anything with, as everything she did was dismissed stating by the judge that it was the wrong paperwork. read more

without prejudice!!!!!!!!! Called this firm for Landlord and Tenant representation - per their advertising. Asked for a lawyer and sneakily got a lawyer "candidate". By the time my letter was completed - for which I had to spend well over one hours rewriting and spell correcting, form completed with lax, had to repeatedly redirect the candidate as she seemed uninterested or overwhelmed. my letter went out without the " without prejudice " term which was shocking to say the least. As terrifying as this experience was , as inept as it was, I did complain and was charged 350.00! I would never use this firm again. i was told by the offI'c'è manager that the v'andiate apologized and spent a lot of time on my letter and one form ( with 4 lines). No, I spent a lot of time on my letter! between correcting spelling and rewriting so that the letter was somehow presentable, to not having the without prejudice clause, you should have paid me. I spent 350.00 and I feel it was very inadequate experience, strange to say the least. . read more

We took half a day off work for a free consultation with Erica McCloud, a 2 year exp. family law lawyer. She was very uninterested and very rushed. We were told over the phone the retainer was $3,000.00 but when we saw Erica, she informed us the retainer would be $5,000.00 for a court appearance. The court appearance was to speak to the matter for a court date only at a courthouse she was already going to be at that day. At no time did she suggest we could retain her for $3,000.00 and come back in a few days with the rest of the money. She gave us no advice, kept letting us know she had to be somewhere and stood up to show us the door before our half our was up. She wouldn't even glance at our file unless the retainer was paid. Clearing she wasn't interested in our business. We are grateful she let us know up front what kind of service she would be giving us if we retained her. Later that day we found a 15 Year plus exp lawyer who gladly took our $3,000.00 retainer and has been a tremendous help to us. Looks like Ms. McCloud 2 year experience needs to learn a thing or two. I suggest you avoid retaining her when it comes to your highly sensitive law suit! read more
