Most recently, I had had one of the best experiences of my life. I was in the praocess of trying to refinance my house. I had spoken with several companies. I wanted to refinance my mortgage to save some money every month. I knew I could get a better interest rate than the one I got when I got my first mortgage. Please believe us when we say we do not write letters of appreciation very often if at all, but after dealing with three major banks, including our own mortgage holder through a fifteen month period it became obvious they did not want to give us a 1st mortgage or a home equity loan. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Mr. Robert Van Fechtmann of Fortren Funding LLC for helping us to refinance our mortgage even when Bank of America, who by the way, held our mortgage for 11 years at over 6% said we didn't qualify for a refi at 3.25%. We unfortunately bought at the top of the housing bubble and took quite a hit on our home value even after putting a ton of money into the place. I filled out a form online and Camilla Diaz from Fortren was the first to contact me. I gave her some info and continued my shopping around. I looked at all the major lenders including Quicken Loans which for all their hype was really just another name in the pack and their rep was in California, which was a major pain. Camilla is a mover and a shaker, there wasn't much she couldn't answer, very knowledgeable. When she needed to get back to me, it was almost immediate. Very thorough, detailed and easy to work with. I provided all my docs, got my appraisal, and got out of my FHA loan into a conventional, saved a ton, and they did it all in 30 days. Final process: they came to ME for the closing, can't beat that! I dreaded this process because I recall what a headache it was when I bought my house 3 years ago, but to do all this in 30 days was really a nice surprise. I am very skeptical about the mortgage industry in general so obviousl I was a little skeptical when I was told I could qualify for a Fannie Mae DU Refi Plus program. I didn't have to pay for an appraisal because I qualified for a waiver. I received my disclosures on Tuesday 4/23/2013 and I brought them into the office to sign so I could have any questions answered. Nicole sat down with me personally and went through all docs. I was submitted to Underwriting by Wednesday and I received an approval on Friday. Monday 4/22/2013 I got the call that I was cleared for closing and was scheduled to close Wednesday 4/24/2013.
