The fam and I stumbled into Equator coffee that replaced Starbucks in Indigo. I am not a Starbucks…read moregirl. I will purchase Starbucks if its my last resort as a treat, but I find their baked goods/food uninspiring and overpriced. I also do not enjoy their coffee, and don't even get me started on their refreshers, its basically full of ice. ANYWAYS, this is not a Starbucks review. Equator was a breath of fresh air. The interior was clean and bright, with the most amazing, cheerful staff. They carry Suzy Q donuts which we did order (oreo and blueberry fritter, both amazing) and the hubs grabbed a flat white. The drink menu is on the smaller side, which I like. Too many options confuse me. I like things to be simple. They also have some prepared foods like sandwiches, and some bowls. I did notice a chickpea salad bowl, which I will have to try next time. Only downside, is this place is so popular that with the many tables around, there was no seating. I stood eating my donut, until we luckily had a table open up a couple bites in. I would love if they added some bar stools around the barista station. There are some outdoor tables, but it was a chilly day. I CANNOT wait for Equator to open at the Indigo on Ogilvie.

All this to say that the Equator coffee shop is big and bright, more spacious with more seating than the previous one. For instance, the dividing retractable door is gone. When one shop is open, so is the other one, The coffee is good - such as the freaking good coffee line. Equator offers a small variety of food. And the staff is friendly and helpful. I used to be a regular in the previous place; then I moved away! So, I'll be back when I can.

The Long Version: My husband and I met my husband's sister and her husband here to hang out before we went to see a show at the Studio Theatre. I got a cinnamon bun ($3.50) and a herbal tea ($3.50), and my husband got a black coffee ($2.75). The cinnamon bun was unremarkable in my opinion. It was just ok, maybe even a bit dry, and also on the thin side. Not thick and fluffy. My tea was just a tea bag from Four O'clock Teas (I got Turmeric Cinnamon, which at least is a more unusual flavour that I haven't seen in stores). The temperature was nice and hot, but it was just bagged tea from a brand sold in health food stores. The inside of the cafe is nice. We sat in the front room near the service counter, but there are back rooms that are a bit more quiet. I would say the ambiance is the nicest thing. Service was pleasant. Maybe some of their other baked goods have more oomph and maybe their crafted drinks are special. My experience was just ok, but it might have been what I ordered. Street parking or paid parking lot parking only, but the lots are free on weekends and you can park on the street for 2 hours for free. Review #39 (2025)

The place is spacious with regular seating as well as couches. I opted for a London fog which was very tasty. Definetly a place you can study. I can still feel the formed butt divot of those before me, but at least they are ok to sit on for more than 2 minutes. A dry cappuccino came out very wet, as in way too much dairy; so disappointing, as we we pay a lot for the joy of a good coffee these days, but seldom get them. (...And this is why we rarely go out for coffee anymore. What we make at home is more reliably consistant and good.) A general observation, not specific to Bridgehead: corporations are, in my opinion, ruining the once lovely experience of going out for a delicious coffee
