It gets better....now I got a certified letter from DMV stating my registration is cancelled due to my Insurance company not responding to their request of if I am insured or not, that they told me were handling back in December. This has been a mess, I have never dealt with anything like this before...Ivan is sweet, but if I cant trust the company it is time to go. I removed my auto insurance policy from another Nevada State Farm agent earlier this year because when I moved to Las Vegas, they quoted told me an absurd amount to keep my policy. When I contacted Eric James State Farm, Eric really made it easy for me to get back with the State Farm family and he did it effortlessly. I was able to get both car and renters insurance for much less ($40 less/month) than I was paying for JUST car insurance before, and now I have the additional assurance that if something were to happen to my rental, I would be covered there too. It was nice that all of the leg work between Eric and I could be done over a short phone call and I was able to simply stop by his office a few days later to sign the paperwork. His staff was friendly and attentive when I walked in the door and Eric delivered exactly what he promised me over the phone. When I signed up for insurance with Ivan, he seemed very young and unprofessional, that was uncomfortable for me especially when it comes to important things like insurances. He tried to make the car/home payments on the same day but I said so I am paying extra days for nothing? he said yeah we can do that and kind of smirked about it. So of course I made it different days money ain't easy and that was very weird. Other than that he also made some similar odd comments that I don't recall since it's been awhile. After year 1 I didn't get the new insurance card in the mail, I actually found out 2,3 months later so I was carrying expired policy. And they didn't mail me the new card for 2,3 months(until I saw my expired card in my wallet). I went online and requested the new card, after 5 business days I still didn't get it and also got a voice mail from a lady asking if I got the card. So I ask for the card again and got it like 7 business days later. 7. Tried to email and ask question on the statefarm site but they didn't' know who I am, I logged on I would think it will have my info when emailing (not secure message) but I guess not and it's the website's crappy design.(but they can look me up using the email) Emailed Eric James to see how do I cancel the policies, he said just tell him over the email. 5 Days later I still got charged, called and Eric wasn't there, Vanessa answered and said if I want to cancel I HAVE to do it by phone, and they need a date. In the email with Eric I said cancel it until end of this billing cycle since I already paid, just don't renew it he said fine. But on the phone it's a total different story I have to cancel by phone and they need an exact date. You see how much difficulties and headache that I had with them? and I never filed a claim, can't believe how difficult it would be to file a claim so I switched insurance of course. Tried to look up a complaint line on statefarm site but can't find it, did a comment/suggestion thing for all of above. wonder if they even read it anyways if I can rate 0 star I would, definitely won't recommend them. update: Nov 9th I emailed Eric to cancel and not renew my policies and he acknowledged in email. Nov 17th I still got charged for a new month, next day I called Vanessa for a refund and still didn't get it as of today Dec 3rd. Also another policy was charged for a new month on Dec 1st. I rarely write reviews on Yelp, but since they asked me 3 times while I was there to write one, I guess I will. First of all I have been a State Farm customer for 15 years and across 4 different states. The service, claim system, and reps have always been stellar, until now. I moved from New York to Las Vegas and needed to update my insurance. This location was chosen at random as it was closest to my house. I called and told them what I needed and that I would be down in half an hour. When I got there, they had no idea who I was even though they had written up my estimate. The price for my insurance went up from $220 per month to $450 per month for less coverage than I had in New York. They gave me a long list of reasons for the increase; Nevada is 2nd most expensive in country People sue a lot 24 hour liquor access etc. The change in cost was significant enough, and the personal level of service at the epr bad enough, that I called Geico. My insurance changed from $220 per month in New York to $240 per month in Nevada with lower deductibles than I was going to get from State Farm. Another important note; Geico is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I can not do business with State Farm on Weekends or after banker's hours because everything must go through the rep and they are not available. And now I just found out they are still charging my credit card 2 weeks after cancellation. It's Saturday so I have to wait til monday to try to straighten it out. 45 minutes with geico cut my insurance from $5400 per year to $2880. I can do business any time. Hopefully I won't get charged for service I have cancelled. You do the math. read more
