I was unable to walk without assistance and the OR staff went above and beyond to help me. They were so sensitive and genuinely concerned, and very patient with me. With several severely herniated disks, I was a mess, and they made me feel supported the whole time. The staff at the front desk in the main office were not nearly as compassionate. They were downright rude, actually... but the rest of the staff easily outweighed their negativity. I went to Dr. Dewal for a 2nd opinion, and was extremely disappointed. He was condescending and…read morerude. When looking at my MRI I got up to look more closely at it, and he told me to sit down. When I expressed a concern that often when people get cervical fusion (which is what he was pushing on me), they oftentimes end up needing another one in a few years due to the excessive stress placed on the surrounding discs. He told me that this was not the case and if they do need surgery that's it's because of natural degeneration. I know numerous people that this has happened to and it doesn't seem to happen to those who haven't had this surgery, so I have no trust in what he was saying. He barely looked up from my MRI report when speaking to me, and simply walked out when he finished telling me what he insisted I needed. No goodbye, nothing. I'm happy to report that I no longer have nerve pain due to an alternative approach I took, and I'm so happy that I didn't resort to surgery. I don't understand why this man has so many positive reviews on Google.

My daughter was a patient for a short time following a car accident.(we were referred from the E.R.) We have since changed doctors. However I have been trying to get my daughter's follow up visit records from this office since March 2022. We need them for an insurance claim. I have emailed numerous times and have been told they are being sent and then not received. They no longer return my emails. I have gone to the office and left notes under the door to have them contact me and they dont. Finally went and got someone actually in the office who then phoned someone and told them that I was there. The other person told the receptionist to tell me I would have the records by the end of the week. That was at least 3 weeks ago. This is absolutely unacceptible! These are patient records that we are entiltled to receive! Not to mention they are holding up an insurance claim that needs to be filed. I will make my way to the office again to try to get what we need but I am hoping that leaving this review will put a fire under them to take care of this. (if they even see it)No one should have to go through these lengths to get their medical records. So if you are a patient here beware if you need your records!!!

New York Pain Consultants is an amazing place that treat you with nothing but respect and are very hospitable. I cannot say good enough things about them and especially Dr. Luis Fandos. I've been dealing with chronic neck pain for the majority of my life ever since I was involved in a car accident back in 1998. Despite seeing many doctors and specialists, not one of them were able to pinpoint what the exact issue was or maybe they just had no idea and wanted to keep prescribing me medication. About a year and a half ago, I was recommended by a friend to go see Dr. Luis Fandos at the New York Pain Consultants. I like his approach to things because he listens with an open mind and is able to merge conventional medicine with holistic approaches. He put me on a regimen that included an inflammation reducing diet along with exercise and some special stretches. I can say that without a doubt the pain is gone. There are times that I feel a tiny bit of pain getting up from bed but I just think that comes with age! I wholeheartedly recommend the good doctors at NYPC.
